Scorpion EXO-1100 Preciosa Helmet 4.7 5 265 265
this helmet is awesome looking and loaded with venting I'm 55 and just getting back into road riding from a 20 year hiatus and choose this helmet for its lightness, sexy lines, recessed sun visor and venting. It doesn't disappoint in any department. Some may say it is a little loud and I tried different combinations of opening and closing vents with no effect. I don't think its bad. Helmet is very balanced in the wind even when turning your head. Really like the easy to use vents. Ride yzf600r and FJR 1300 November 25, 2014
some good, some bad This helmet offers a lot of features for the money, but in the end I will need to purchase another helmet because it is designed poorly where it counts the most. First the good: very lightweight for how big it is and all the extra features. My neck does not hurt after wearing it awhile. Beautiful graphics and looks great. Materials used in the padding feel luxurious and the helmet is very comfortable. Now the bad: the field of vision is terrible :/ from top to bottom is very narrow and unless your head is straight and you are looking straight ahead, you can't see! When riding in a race position the helmet cuts off your line of sight through the corner and also when riding on the highway tucked in, you can't see in front of you. My other complaint is that it is very noisy. Lots of wind buffeting which I did not expect since it fits so tight. Also because of the tight fit my head and face get really sweaty. I have to go back to using my old helmet on the track so I can see through the corners. October 6, 2014
I love the flip down sun visor Overall, I like this helmet. It is quiter than my previous Scorpion helmet, but the fit wasn't quite as good. This could be because it needs to be broken in a little, but when I switch to my other helmet I feel like it's lined with pillows compared to this one. Other reviews said that it is a little on the oval side, but I found it to lean to the round side. The quietness and the sun visor offset the negatives and I feel like brightness of the helmet makes my riding safer since other drivers tend to see me easier. November 17, 2014
Scorpion EXO-1100 Helmet - Good buy Hey 'Zilla, Thanks!! I have had this item for almost a year now. I am not sure what to say about this product. The only true test of a helmet is protecting your 'noggin from the random bits of flying road debris and immovable objects that suddenly appear in your path of travel. Honestly, I do NOT want to test that aspect of my headgear. ;) In every other regard, I find the helmet to be more than adequate! Airflow is great, sits snug and securely (thank you Anthony/Zilla for the sizing guides!!!), doesn't feel too heavy on the head. Sun shield has been handy a few times too. Now it does, IMO, have one or two weak areas and these are probably completely subjective, in no particular order: 1) High speed, say around 75-80 mph or higher, you will feel the wind force pushing on your head and neck. Sometimes my head feels like a bobber...lol. This is my first full face rig, so that may be completely normal, IDK. But I bring it up in relation to the fact that I have neck issues and only once has the bobbing been too much for me to tolerate, high crosswinds too (I just slowed down a bit and continued on my merry way). 2) I feel peripheral vision could be a bit better. I have to turn my head a bit further than I really feel comfortable doing, in order to see behind me but that again, could be due to my neck issues. Haven't had any problems because of it, just an aspect I am aware of and deal with. 3) Visor has occasionally gotten stuck in the down position, like it's locked closed, not much of a safety concern but can be annoying. ie: night ride in FL, stop at light, visor starts to fog a little, slip into N, reach up to open visor...wont budge try again...still wont move...one more attempt...nada..ugh! Mild panic attack hits as for a brief second the thought that I am trapped in this head casket forever flashes through my mind...omg Breathing rate doubles as I try the visor again and again, dramatically increasing level of mist now gathering on the inside of visor...OMG Somewhere down a hazy tunnel in my vision, a warm red glow suddenly turns blaring green...omfg I realize I am effectively blind at an intersection and the light is now green with traffic all around me...OMFG I smack myself on the side of my helmet encased head a few times, near the locking mechanism, conjuring up an image of Luke or Han doing the same thing indicating they were having communication issues, then imaging what the drivers behind me are thinking watching me smack myself around and start to laugh, out loud, fogging whatever minute space of visor that may have escaped my panic driven pant earlier...lmao Trying the visor again, it pops open and I can breath again (YEAH!!) but I realize my glasses have also completely fogged over (argh). Pulling my glasses forward, so they are on the end of my nose, my vision goes from misted over to completely out of focus...fml. I go into 1st, throttle up, clear the intersection and pull over. !!!SIGH!!! Without getting a single "honk" :) Good times, good times!! I still chuckle remembering it :D Since then, I have learned that when it gets stuck, to grab bottom of the chin piece and use a little extra pressure on the visor and it opens right up, with a crack sound. In a year, it's gotten stuck maybe 4 or 5 times...the above narrative was the only incident of note :) Aside from the above, it's been a great helmet and I have worn it on every highway ride since purchase (just under 5k miles). But again, I have not tested it's only true feature...safely protecting my head. Here's to always keeping both wheels upright and rollin' 2009 Shadow 750 November 14, 2014
Kinda Tight Like most other people who have reviewed this helmet, I would have to say that my only complaint is that it is a tad on the small side. My head is just between the large and extra-large sizes on the chart, so I got the extra-large helmet just to be safe and the break-in period was a little bit uncomfortable. But, now that the pads have broken in, I really have no complaints; the air flowing through the vents is great, the sun visor isn't too bad, it is surprisingly quiet, and it does well without having a windscreen on the bike. Outstanding helmet I was thinking about buying another Shoei RF series helmet when a buddy suggested I look into the EXO 1000. Found this updated model instead. Here are the most useful features, in order of my opinion: 1. Doesn't fog. It really doesn't 2. Built in sunvisor. Looks dorky, works great. 3. Lots and lots of ventilation that's openable/closeable 4. Controls are big enough to operate with gloves on (this includes the lips at the bottom of the faceshield to raise/lower the shield easily/quickly) It also has the ability to easily change faceshields, but I haven't found the need to since the sun visor is so easy to operate. Helmet fits great and has inflateable cheekpads, but since it fits my head perfectly, I haven't used them. Great helmet. A+ Scorpion. Don't screw this fantastic helmet up when you update it. Great helmet, looks good and fits well. I love that the rider can use either hand to open the visor, and the pump-up cheek pads are a great addition. I would like to see an option to purchase a pinlock-ready visor from Scorpion though. The visor doesn't actually fog, but it does get 'cloudy' or 'wet-looking' during certain conditions. The 'open' lever on the visor counteracts this "fog", but it's annoying to have to keep the visor cracked, especially in colder weather. Overall this is a great helmet, and the price is right. October 27, 2014
Great Helmet! When I got this helmet size S, I was super disappointed - it was so tight my head almost hurt. But after a while it stretched - now its fits perfectly and is very soft and comfortable. I rode in summer heat and cold weather - it was always comfortable and good temperature inside. When the visor is clean, the only way to tell that it's down is by not feeling the wind in your eyes. The sun-visor works well, but you do have to squint when the sun shines directly into your eyes. Blocks wind quite well, but not 100% - you do feel some draft. Rode in the rain - visor never fogged up, but it would have been nice if it had some sort of rainx or something like that so that you don't have to wipe it every 3 minutes, but that's nitpicking. Cons: It is not as light as my old carbon fiber helmet, but that's not a problem, really. It makes some noise , especially with visor up, but, again, not a deal breaker. Also I can't really feel any difference when you open the vents or the spoiler at the back. Overall great helmet! October 20, 2014

This helmet is gorgeous , It shouldn't have been my second choice. I love Scorpion helmets . I needed a full face. I use it in my sportster with pride my bike is gold metal flake and thus helmet has a little gold on it. James S: I was maybe a little bad, after taking the wife to a nearby store and looking for a helmet to fit her (& that satisfied her style), she chose the Scorpion EXO-1100. Before purchasing it I wanted to see what Anthony (@ Revzilla) said about it. After hearing his review I knew Way more about the helmet that the salesman had told me, ie. I wasn't originally told about the drop down visor, or the inflatable cheek pads. Kinda big things. So Revzilla got my business! Thanks for the reviews, all of them Aug 11, 2013
A shopper asked: I'm going to buy the new EXO 1100 Preciosa in purple, is it true to its color, and is the black and pink really more of a black and purple? I'm asking because i'm going on deployment and i'm going to re do my bike the colors of the helmet. I'm very worried that the purple is really a true lavender and pink. If you can give me the run down on this i would appreciate it. Dec 28, 2011

Robert C: You're almost spot on. Although hard to see in the photo, the helmet base color is black. A background layer of purple flowerish designs and then layered on top of that with pink wisps. The word Preciosa is written in Gold over everything in a scribbled artistic way. In a couple of parts there are some silver flower/heart looking things. So in final to your answer, its black, purple, pink, gold, silver. Hope this helps! Mar 25, 2013

GaryEric: I haven't seen the pink one in person. My wife has the black/pink one, and it's colors are true to the website's picture. Except the shield is clear, not colored like the website pic shows. Mar 26, 2013

Stevan P: The colors are the same as shown in the picture, however, we suggest ordering the helmet and viewing it in person to make sure the colors work with your needs. Dec 29, 2011

A shopper asked: would this helmet also fit a male? Aug 16, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Diane B: As far as FIT: YES, indeed! My husband and I BOTH wear and LOVE our EXO-1100 helmets.

As far as "would it be fitting for a male to wear this design" -- the graphics are a wee bit feminine in their lacey-beauty and "Endless LOVE" printed on one side... not a guys-guy look.

Robert A: There is no gender-specific fitment to this helmet, the only one I am aware of that does is the Schuberth C3W and C3W Pro.

My wife has this helmet and I have tried it on severl times as we wear the same size, it fits just fine.

Andrew B: Yes, I wear the Bell Star Carbon in a medium and can actual wear the exo-1100 Preciosa Helmet in a small, it just squishes my cheeks but not to the point of being unbearable. Aug 21, 2013

A shopper asked: Is there a seperate fog shield available for this product like some of the other Scorpions? Mar 19, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: There is no pinlock shield/insert for the Scorpion EXO-1100 Helmet. We would recommend checking out the Fog City Pro Shield Insert as an alternate option. Mar 23, 2012

peejay: I don't think so. The shield it comes with is anti fog and I have encountered no problems. Hope it helps May 13, 2013

A shopper asked: I am wondering how this helmet goes accomodating speakers for my blue tooth ? Is there provision for headphones and does the inflation system interfer with the sound ?

Also how do I go abut getting a darker internal lense ?
May 23, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Andrew B: There is room for speakers im not sure if the inflation system has much of and affect but the helmet is much quieter then my Bell Star Carbon, plus the flip down sunshade all be it a bit small, is very nice. Ive owned a couple Scorpion pieces now and although they are foreign made they are, very nice. Comprable to many of the more expensive gear and even better in some cases. May 24, 2014
