Schuberth S2 Ghost Helmet
Not blown away by the venting
Airflow from chin vents is great; however, from top vents I find it barely noticeable.
One of the plastic rivets that button down the black spoiler that runs along the lower edge of the helmet broke off. I don't know how - it was not dropped. I resolved it with a plastic rivet from my local hardware store.
Graphic design is OK, maybe too understated for me.
Feel of materials inside the helmet is very nice. It is plush and comfy. Look at sizing guide carefully - slightly different from other brands.

Really like this helmet
Last year, after wearing an Arai RX-Q for three years, I shopped around for a new helmet; narrowing my selection to either a Shoei GT-Air or a Schuberth S2, I chose the Shoei based on reviews and advice from Revzilla on sizing. I like the Shoei and am happy I bought it, and retired the Arai to it's box. But seeing the S2 on sale recently (I bought the SRC system on sale as well) I again contacted Revzilla about sizing and made a purchase. Note that I would not have purchased the S2 and SRC system had they not both been on sale; at the time of purchase my GT-Air was just shy of a year old.
I have used the S2 exclusively for the last six weeks and these are my observations: I really like this helmet! (Adding the SRC system just makes it better! But that's in the other review.) I find the S2 very comfortable and I like the ratcheting chin-strap closure. I did have to trial-and-error my way to a comfortable setting and positioning of the latch.
The helmet is plenty light-weight and I find the aerodynamics to be excellent for cutting through the air and really steady at hiway speeds.
I like the drop-down sun visor, and it's slider is easy to find and operate.
The faceshield is easy to operate and change and is a big eye-port. I also like that many manufacturers are including a Pinlock lens as nothing works better for anti-fog.
Ventilation seems really good though I won't likely see a truly hot day for some months yet. The vents are easy to operate, but the chin vent requires me to be mindful of inadvertantly operating it when raising the faceshield or locking it closed. Additionally, I find Schuberth's claim of the rider not noticing the small amount of air entering through the chin vent when closed to be false ... at least in colder weather I feel the helmet is rather "breezy" across my face when the vents are closed. I intend to experiment with blocking the exhaust vents and chin vent, in the closed position, to mitigate the breeziness, but only in colder weather.
I like the styling of the helmet, and the quality looks and feels top-notch! Though the claim of "compact" in size seems to me to be completely untrue, I find the S2 to be comparable in size the my GT-Air - my Arai being the smallest without question - and hardly big enough for me to think anything of it's size.
"Numbers don't lie", but being quiet is open to interpretation as I find all helmets to be noisy. But i will concede this helmet is easily less noisy that my Arai, and edges my Shoei as well.
I do have a single nit-pick involving the SRC system: with the SRC system installed this helmet is rather tall when taking into consideration the neckroll and spoiler. What the tallness does is not protrude up higher but down; wearing a high-necked jacket (beneficial for comfort in colder weather) causes the SRC neckroll to drag on my jacket when turning my head when my hands are on the grips. When I sit up tall the dragging is minmal, but in a typical riding position it is an annoyance. For me this is not a deal-breaker but it is annoying. I did not notice this for the two weeks I did not have the SRC system installed, but I did not wear a high-necked jacket during that time. It seems clear the additional depth of the SRC neckroll is the issue.
I would buy this helmet ( and SRC system) again.

Great quality, fit and price
This is obviously a high quality, top-of-the-line sport/touring helmet. I probably would not have purchased this helmet at full price, but the sale price is impossible to pass up. This review is about fit because I do not agree with the many reviews that describe this helmet as too small. I have a slightly narrow 59.5 cm head. The S2 is a neutral shape between narrow and oval. It's sizing is, in fact, small (a Large S2 measures as a Medium for most helmets), but it's true to the Schuberth sizing chart. I am at the very top end of a Schuberth "Large" measurement (58-59) and so I bought it expecting to have a tight fit that would need to be worn in. The first time I put it on I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was not painful or very difficult to get past the neck collar (follow the instructions!). The helmet is snug, but not overly tight or uncomfortable at all. I expect that with more time in the helmet it will only become more and more comfortable. If you don't know your head shape, I highly recommend trying on some Icon, Arai, Shoei and/or Schuberth helmets because they all have distinct shapes that will show you what shape fits you best.

Overall- a great helmet
Quiet enough at high speeds. The fold down tinted lense is perfect for riding home when the sun is in your eyes and flipping up once it's dark. Well ventilated. No fog issues. Fits a little small but mostly when putting it on or getting it off due to the neck area being so tight. Would definitely recommend

Loudest helmet I ever owned!
I bought the S2 excited about all the "quiet" claims. As soon as I put on for the first ride I was gutted! My 150$ AGV and Open Face Shark RSJ are miles quieter than the S2!! It's very loud, even with earplugs! After a lot trial and error, it's clear the noise is caused by wind passing under the helmet, so the only way to quiet things down is wrap a scarf around your neck. With that, it become pretty calm! That however is not a practical solution as in Dubai temperatures are never below 85 degrees!
I must be fair and say the fit and finish of the S2 are superb!
If it's quiet you're looking for and you live in a hot climate, look somewhere else.

A very high quality item that shouldn't disappoint the hardest to please.
I had been looking at the Schuberth helmets for quite some time and a recent article by another website (http://lanesplitter.jalopnik.com/) pushed the envelope in purchasing this helmet over my older Shoei RF-1100. The Shoei had 2 season's but I recently took a low side and there was some scuffs on the helmet and I wanted to make sure if I needed it again that it would do it's job.
Highlights on this helmet are numerous. Pinlock shield, built in visor, 2 handed visor tabs to open and close, reflective, comfortable liner, chin spoiler, neutral appearance etc...
The ECE rating is what really pushed me over the edge along with the testing ability that Schuberth has that most other companies don't not to mention they are open on their findings. Helmets still have a long way to go before there are any real technical break through's but this helmet definitely comes with a piece of mind.
Head checks get little to no lift and overall the helmet is pretty quiet. I don't think it's much quieter than other premium level Street specific lids because at 70mph there is a pretty high decibel rating no matter. I always wear earplugs that reduce 32db so it's kind of a non issue for me in that department.
I wore a medium in Shoei and Arai and found the Medium to be about the same for the Shuberth S2. The cheek pads are more snug for sure but that adds to less movement and is very tolerable. I would call it a bit more Race fit. There are other pads to get the fit taylored if needed.
As always Revzilla delivered (ha ha ha) and offered a great helmet at an even better price than normal with the current discount. The level of quality and detail will not disappoint you in this helmet especially give in the current sale price. I like it so much I've put a SR-1 in my wish list for a track specific helmet down the road.

Excellent Fit and Finish
Prior helmet was the N104. This felt good from the get go, very comfortable. A little tight in the beginning but this is normal. I am very happy with the quietness of the helmet and the fit and finish is excellent.
Shipped and delivered on time. I have owned a Japanese, American, Italian and now German made helmet. This has been my favorite so far.

Great overall helmet
The helmet fits well and is comfortable. It is a little hard to get on and off do to the tight neck roll, not a big deal tho. The helmet is MUCH quieter with the use of the supplied chin wind guard.
