This protective gear is very flexible, easy to install. I hope to not test it with impact, but I'm glad it's there.

This material is amazing, the way it is soft and flexible most of the time but gets firm when impacted. Makes it very comfortable to wear yet still protects.

I got this armor to go in my new KLIM Traverse pants. The armor is incredibly light weight, and extremely flexible. I really can hardly tell its there. Fortunately I haven't crash tested it yet.

I like the way it is soft when you first squeeze it then hardens for protection.

I am 100% taken with the visco-elastic experience. KLIM is the only company (Brits) who seem to be willing to sell everything piece by piece rather than have contracts with clothing manufacturers. SaS-Tec does the back pad and hip pads (good stuff too) but hordes their other pads for jacket makers. Anyway, appreciate KLIM making ALL pads available. All of the d3o pad dimensions and thicknesses can be found at the d3o website- google d3o...NOT 3do like I did originally- which is a video game console from 1993....
Very lightweight, VERY flexible, 8mm thick CE (EN1621. blah blah 1) which means you get equal or better protection from 8mm of this orange stuff than you do from those fatty black TP foam jobs, the thinnest of which (CE 1 rated) runs just under 15mm (got me some of them too). There is quite a bit of difference between "just passing" the CE1 upper mark and the lower mark. Of course, they haven't come up with a standard for protection against CELL PHONES. Oh, that's another discussion...anyway, they really do "disappear" with body heat. The knee, elbow and shoulder pads are ALL 8mm thick at the center, tapering slightly at the edges.
Two things not so good- they are slippery, so a close fitting pocket and clothes is sort of necessary, unless you want to assume it won't slide out of the way in a dirt nap. I sew a loop of thread through the vent holes directly to the liner of my jackets so they don't shift. Also, perhaps a bit larger size, with a more molded shape would be nice, for more coverage in case of the situation I mentioned above. This is true for all the KLIM pads, except the Viper Pro back pad.
Air flow...bwahahaha....I hear the best airflow is achieved by wearing a t-shirt. I haven't tried it, but it sounds really, really badass cool. While I'm here- KLIM makes fantastic clothing too. And, of course, Revzilla, seriously, why go elsewhere?
Yes, I recommend this product.

The Klim armor is manufactured by d3O. d3O is exploiting one of several new technologies that are enhancing the protection provided by motorcycle gear.
The d3O website explains all about their "intelligent molecules" and the rest. And explains their product lines. Each Type B (intended for protecting limbs, but not the back) piece of armor (knee, shoulder, etc.) has 4 variations: Pro (13 mm) and non-pro (8 mm), and each of those is available in two different densities (FLO 1 and FLO 2). All four variations meet the CE standards.
The one currently available is the 8 mm model (I'm not familiar enough with the product to know whether this is FLO 1 or FLO 2).
For my purposes, to add to the armor I'm already wearing, it works very well. I've got some extra room for increasing the protection, but not enough to be able to add 13 mm or so.
I'm using this knee armor on my elbows - it matches up with the semi-hard armor I've already got installed there.
It's comfortable, it's lightweight, and it is excellent for slamming your elbow into coffee tables and door edges.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Bought the Klim D3O armor for my KLIM Traverse Jacket & Pants, it all fit great, with the exception of the elbow pads which I had to insert "backwards" way in order to get best coverage.

it is about 10% of my bmw city pants. seems to be the same space age/combat material that hardens on impact but a fraction of the size and thickness. I have these pulled out next to each other and its kinda a joke. im gonna keep them just because i dont always want to wear strap on armor. the only thing this may protect is if i swing my knee into the bike as im saddling up. the hip pads are better. about 50% of my bmw pants. the least Klim could have done was include them with the 300+ buck traverse pants and not make me bang out another 70 bucks for these. They were included with my less expensive BMWs
No, I do not recommend this product.
