Scorpion SAS-TEC Replacement Shoulder/Elbow/Knee Armor

SAS-TEC armor is made of a polyurethane foam material, without a hard shell or edges, which surpasses the required CE values by 50%. The closed air cells function by means of progressive absorption; the material is soft and flexible in its normal state but a sudden impact will cause the protectors to harden and absorb the impact without transmitting the force to the body.

Sold as a pair. CE Level 2 protection.

Perfect in covert pro jeans
Expensive yes and a pity that they don't come Worth covert pro jeans.
But, they are so comfortable they seem to disappear when in the hip pockets of my scorpion jeans.
The foam seems to have magical properties, they are soft and flexible enough to bend with you but if you test them by hitting then, they become rigid.
Definitely recommend

Great product ...
This is a little tricky to review as, though I really dig the fact that it's compliant while wearing but will "harden" on impact, I have yet to experience that first hand.

Still you can feel it's compliance and I never feel like it's a hindrance or in the way. In a strange way I have confidence that it will work as advertised if I need them to (though I hope such an occasion doesn't present itself).

I've got them installed in my Scorpion Covert Pro riding pants and though I've velcro-ed them in place it's difficult to find the perfect position for them as they're not bespoke/built-in to the pants from the manufacturer. This makes them a little bit awkward as you're walking around in them but not so much that I want to take them out or not want to use them. There are no issues with fit while riding as I've been able to get them to rest exactly where I want them.

Again, since I haven't actually put them through a crash, I can't really speak to it so the above P&D rating should be taken with a grain of salt.

Otherwise, amazing product for a great price and I'm glad I have them.

You forget you wear them
I bought the scorpion jeans in a local store but they didn't have the protectors, so I ordered here at Revzilla.

I've been using them for a while and I even had a little accident, were a car hit me on the side, so I fell down to the other side and I didn't realize at the moment that this protectors were there so I didn't get hurt my knees when I fell.

I'm really glad I got the right protection at the right moment.

Did not work for me with Scorpion Covert jeans.
While they seemed in the perfect location when standing, they moved up to my quads while riding. Also since the Covert Jeans are quite loose I think there is only a slight chance that these will be in the correct position if and when you were to fall on your knee. Maybe this is more a reflection of the jean design rather than the armor, but the bottom line is I could not use them or return them since they were used.

Good, but not Great
I haven't crashed in these, and hope not to, so can't comment on the functional protection, but they seem like a nice product. My two little nits to pick are I would like a like more cupping to wrap around the knee, and more length for shin protection.

Absolutely the Best Ever
Form, function and fashion rarely mix well, but these pads are the exception to the rule. They form perfectly and hopefully I won't have to test the function anytime soon, but they functioned perfectly using the "fast bending by hand" test, forming a hardening shell/shield immediately. And they are perfectly fashioned to fit the inserts found on my jeans and jacket. GREAT.....

Lives up to it's positive reviews, but...
Upon receiving this armor I did the "strike it with a rubber hammer test" and it looks like this armor lives up to it's positive reviews. Because of my lack of height (30 inch inseam) this knee armor sat too low in the highest velcro position in the Scorpion Covert Jean's I purchased. Inserted in the jeans I had to pull the knee armor up into the correct position when sitting. I'm sure when riding that street vibration or in an actual fall they would slip back down to where the top of the knee armor would rest just below the middle of my knee cap. I am keeping the jeans for the Kevlar protection but am sadly sending back the knee armor.

Good protection, great value
Purchased these jeans to go in my new Scorpion Covert Pro jeans. They are relatively easy to install, and after a few minutes I was able to get them to fit over my knee when sitting on the bike. They seem to fit slightly on the inside of my knees while on the bike, but I haven't been able to go for a ride yet so I can't say for sure how they will sit. Like the previous review, this would be more of a problem with the jeans than the armor.

Overall a good purchase!

Good protection.
I got these to put in my scorpion riding jeans and they fit well and offer good protection. But they're big and bulky and cause me to not ride with them all the time. If you want a lot of protection, get em. But it's a bit much.

As stated in one of my previous answers, I purchased Scorpion Covert Pro Jeans and need armor to place into them. They have good reviews and hopefully will protect me if I go down in a crash! I am also hoping that this armor helps take away some of the itchings that the jeans have caused with the velcro on my legs. If not, I might contact scorpion to see if I can send them back to reverse the stitching of the velcro and if they don't do it or charge me too much, I am just going to have to resew

Old bones need more than Kevlar for protection! Even something as simple as taking a knee to check under something can be painful without a pad, and they are virtually invisible behind the clothing. What's not to love?

Is this a pair or do you have to buy 2 of them?
Mike M on Apr 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These are sold as a pair.
How do you adjust the height of these knee pads in the covert pro jeans?
Zach M on Apr 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They are held in place with a mesh pocket with 3 velcro strip a inch or so apart. They hold good and come apart easy. I've had the jeans for about a year and have no troubles taking out the armor when washing the jeans. I have short inseam 30 and the kneeds fit right when I ride. While standing they feel like they are too low but once you raise your legs in ridnig postion the jeans slide up and knee pads cover the knee good.
does the knee armor bulge out and seem heavy while installed in the covert pro jeans? anyone have pictures with it on a bike and standing up?
Thank You
A shopper on Aug 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The knee armor seems invisible when riding but when standing, *my* Covert Pro jeans bag and sag quite a bit. Due to the limited selection and my being fat, I had to buy a size too large and too long. If I were to hem them it would be OK but since they fit well *while riding* I have not hemmed them. When standing, the armor is far too low and bugs me while walking around. I have been known to remove the armor when off for a bit to shop or walk around. For some reason, on one leg of the jeans, the top piece of the armor pouch's Velcro is scratchy.
Minor complaints, I like the Covert pro jeans and would recommend.
What are the dimensions?
John O on Jul 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The knee armor is about 6" wide by 10" high; the hip armor is about 6" wide by 8" high. The thickness is about 1/4". The armor fits my Scorpio Covert Pro denim pants very nicely; I never notice it when I am riding.
Can these pads be washed with the jeans or do they need to be taken out every time?
Scott.Huff@yahoo.com H on Jul 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They are so easy to put in and pull out, I don't see the point in washing with them in.
