Helmet looks amazing, feels amazing and is amazing! From unboxing to wearing it, everything was perfect. I'm very happy with the helmet and would recommend it to anyone. April 14, 2014
Save your Money I have been wearing this helmet for 6 months now. I found that it has very poor ventilation and tends to fog up. The helmet is designed for someone with a round head puts allot of pressure on the forehead. Additionally the helmet is very heavy compared to the Arai, and is also extremely noisy at over 60 mph. April 13, 2014
Great helmet that fits perfect. I bought this helmet for the dual sport looks it has plus the venting that is incorporated in to it. I think the helmet is very light and does not pull my head to much because of the top visor it does pull you head when you look back to check your blind spot but it is something to get use to. I did get the mirrored visor to go with it and it fits perfectly. April 8, 2014
Great Helmet! LOVE IT This is by far my favorite helmet that I have purchased here, both look wise and functionality wise. This helmet flows a lot of air making it great for the Arizona summers coming up. The peak on the helmet does block out the sun during most of the day but does not cause lift during high speed riding (being a street fighter rider that really impressed me). Overall I would highly recommend the helmet, If you are thinking about buying it just do it you wont regret. my only gripe with the helmet is the visor does not snap in all the way on the right side cause the shield to not close fully on the right side, this does not affect the seal and still keeps the air out. easy fix only costing $10 April 2, 2014
This Product has great features. This helmet was definatly everything I expected, I would recommend buying this helmet. March 31, 2014
what I expected Originally I was looking for a quieter helmet than my Icon Alliance because I did a lot of highway riding, but I ended up selling my BMW K75 and bought a Suzuki DRZ400SM. The bike can't do much highway and has that hooligan look to it so I thought I'd buy a similar helmet. The helmet fits great. It's slightly larger and rounder than the Icon Alliance which fit me like a glove, but it's still comfortable for me. Once it breaks in a bit I'm sure it will fit even better. I did my research before buying and was not surprised when the visor started catching the wind while looking over my shoulder, it's fine when looking forward. The noise was also expected, it's not much louder than my Icon Alliance, but it is still louder than a helmet I consider too loud for the highway. I got the Rubatone and the finish is nice. I was riding in 35 F the other day and the visor didn't fog, it's a decent distance from your face. I got caught in the rain as well and it left streaks on the helmet. I haven't tried to wash it off yet but it seems like it will be no problem to clean the finish. March 31, 2014
Great vision Good fit (oval) as my head is 3 inches longer than round , I need an oval fitting helmet.. I needed one size bigger than the fit chart suggested .. Looks great when riding my Super Tenere. Easy to maintain and great air flow. March 17, 2014
Great buy for the money I'm very happy with Icon. The fit and finish is quite nice for a low/mid price point helmet. This is my 2nd Variant(sold the 1st one with the previous bike) and they both were a little tight on my Lg size head. But I live in the south(HOT), so I ride without the cheek pads most of the time. Smaller pads are available. Ventilation is great in this helmet. I use this helmet when on my KLX250, so not at high speeds. On the KLR, behind that big faring, wind was not a problem. But without a faring, that big brow on this helmet can be a little grabby. Not so bad at KLX speeds. Overall, I really like it. Visibility is great. Mine's pure white with a mirror shield and looks cool. I wish Icon offered it in Kawasaki green. March 12, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Jonathon G: Lets be honest, first off the helmet looks sweet. Has a great field of vision, never have any problems head checking. The helmet does flow pretty good with the venting system. The only down side to this helmet is the visor at high speeds(100+), and on really windy days when you head check the visor catches the wind and pulls your head a bit, but for regular riding at highway and city speeds the helmet does great. I got the all white version, and looks awesome, but get dirty easily with bugs. Apr 22, 2014

A shopper asked: What is the weight of this? It's not in the manual, or anywhere. Jan 15, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
Jared M: I literally just sold mine to a guy in Norway otherwise I would weigh it on my home scale for you right now.

I will say is incredibly light. To compare it to a common home object it is about as heavy as 2 fullsize pumped basketballs. (Im holding one in my hand now). Much of the cost of this helmet goes into safety, weight reduction and aerodynamic functionality.

I have been 190+ with mine. Very good visibility.great craftmanship and precision has went into every detail.

I will miss this helmet. And my old cbr 1000.

Hope this helps!

A shopper asked: How well does the icon variant accept bluetooth communication devices and speakers? Sep 7, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The Variant is not a helmet that would easily accept a Bluetooth system. There are no cut outs in the ears to hold the speakers, and the space between the helmet shell and the EPS is limited and does not leave much room for any kind of clamp to slide in. Some Bluetooth systems come with the ability to use an adhesive mount, which would allow you to mount the system to the side of the helmet shell. However, the user would still have to find a place for the speakers and they would likely be touching your ears regardless of their position. Sep 11, 2012

Rick C: Well I have had my Icon Variant (Rubatone and Gold Shield for over a year now, ordered from here at Revzilla, and the Sena SMH10 fits perfectly. And I use the clamp.

The Helmet and Sena's work so well, this summer my son got the Icon Variant (Black Etched, Smoked Visor), and Sena SMH10 attached.

I can also report that just this afternoon at work, a fellow who rides a black and gold speed triple was in my office checking out my Variant and will be ordering the identical setup to mine, Rubatone, Gold Shield, SMH10s.

Jason B: An update to my own question.. I've had my etched variant for a year now and have been using the Uclear HBC100 bluetooth headset. It fits just fine and was very easy to install due to the boomless mic technology. Sounds pretty good and the battery life is excellent! Sep 28, 2013
Reply to Jason Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
PAULO M: Jason, how did you install the speakers? Could you please attach some pics? Thanks Oct 15, 2013
Bryson W: I just installed the SMH10-R and it fits in the Variant perfect! Because you can remove the "gutts", it makes it really easy to position and attach the speaker and hide all the wires. In fact, the piece of "loose" material across the ear cut out actually covers the hard plastic speakers perfectly. A friend has the Aria and had to mount the speakers against the material so he has the hard plastic speaker right against his ear.
And of course the low-pro design of the receiver looks really nice on the exterior as well.

Cheers

Sutto: It works very well with the SENA SMH-10 bluetooth unit. The clamp mount works perfectly and allows for good mic placement. It's a bit of a tight fit with the speakers..I have to use my finger to adjust my ears after I put the helmet on or they get pinched by the speakers. Overall I'm happy with how it works together. A shopper asked: Does this helmet use a different shell for the different sizes? Oct 20, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Josh B: I do not believe so. You can purchase different size of pads to find the correct fitment but the shell is the same. For example I purchased a medium last year, all I would have to do to make it a small would be to buy the proper inside pads. Oct 20, 2013

A shopper asked: there is a gold visor for this helmet.. can you get that..? Apr 23, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Jason B: I am currently using the Gold shield for my red-etched variant. It looks awesome! The only complaint is that the gold shield seems to flex more while opening and closing. It is not as rigid as the stock clear shield and does not seal as well around the bottom of the helmet. This might be due to using a thinner material or its possible that I might have an ealier production run. When it's time for me to replace it I hope the next one fits a little better. Sep 28, 2013

Michaelsantos91: Yes you can. I actually own some gold lens for this helmet. It is great if you dont want to be seen completely. The tint lens under bright conditions allows your face to be seen. All tinted/mirrored lens are not intended for night use, but from my personal experience its fine. I see pretty well at night with these lens. Nov 28, 2012

Josh3: Yes, there is a gold visor. I actually have it installed on mine and love it. As someone posted earlier, the gold visor does reflect your own face back at you in some light conditions. I don't find that this is distracting and the visor looks great on the helmet. Jul 11, 2012

A shopper asked: It doesn't look like the shield/visor can be lifter while riding. I imagine it's possible, by don't see how. Sep 6, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The face shield can be lifted while riding via the tab on the left hand side of the face shield. If you zoom in you can see the tab we are referring to. Or are you referring to the visor? That can definitely not be lifted/moved while riding. Sep 7, 2012
Reply to RevZilla Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
DancingDolphinsCindy: The visor lifts, there is a small tab that fits over a metal knob to lift. It can be difficult to get the first time, but it is just the plastic visor that lifts and not the chin guard. Sep 14, 2012

A shopper asked: In particular I'm wondering about the sizing in comparison to HJC (on/off road helmets). They are the only brand I've ever owned before, but it's time to move on. According to HJC's sizing, I should be a SM according to their size chart (just under 22cm head), but I ended up getting a XS because of the loose fit I felt with the SM helmet on. So, I'm wondering what difference in helmet shape makes in sizes. Oct 5, 2011

peter b: do all icons have the same sizing? im looking at the variant but cant find it in stores to try on sizes. i was able to try on the airmada and i fit perfect into a medium. so will a medium variant do the job? Aug 10, 2013

Zeek: Honestly, if you know what works for you (HJC) stick with it. Either that or find some scorpions and try them on in a store. HJC is a great helmet company and makes excellent stuff. Oct 11, 2011

A shopper asked: hi, this helmet is good for long ovals, is that correct? Apr 5, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Craig B: It is more of a medium oval size and a bit tight right out of the box, but this helmet has the best for outside and full span visuals when riding. I have more people tend to not pull out in front of me because its an unusual looking helmet with the silver and gold shield. I own the Rubatone Black and White Carbon Cyclic. I would recommend them if you can find a size that fits. Apr 5, 2014

JASON F: I myself have purchased the xl size and found that the inner helmet liners play a great role in the fit of this helmet. In my initial wearing, l found the cheek regions a bit tight. But as time went on, the liner contoured to my head and now it fits perfectly.
FYI, I measured a xl on the sizing chart

Right now in Texas it 101 and I just love this unintended feature along with the air flow is excellent over all. Chris K: You can see our current inventory at any time by selecting the size and color you are interested in from the product detail page. Once you have selected your options, the website will tell you whether that item is available, or out of stock.

Any helmets purchased from RevZilla (or any other US dealer) will not have an Australian certification sticker. If you need this sticker, than you would need to purchase from an Australian dealer.
