Looks awesome, excellent visibility
Let's face it...anyone buying this helmet is buying it for the look. With that said, it has another big benefit and that's the visibility. I never noticed how much other helmets impeded my visibility until I put this one on..you almost don't see it at all when you're wearing it. Ventilation is decent but is helped greatly by the "crack" position of the visor, just enough to let some air in. It's a snug fit..I normally wear a Large and that's what I ordered on the Variant. I've been wearing it for a week and it's still pretty snug but I expect it to break in a little more with more time. It's a little tight around my ears..I use a SENA SMH-10 bluetooth unit and it works very well with the helmet but the speakers pinch my ears a bit..I have to reach into the helmet with a finger and move my ear a bit when I put it on. Overall I'm very happy with this lid. I also got the mirror visor and it looks awesome.

I love my helmet!
I love this helmet since the day i bought it! It is a bit expensive but over all i thought it was worth it. A bunch of air flow going through the helmet exactly how revzilla said. I ride a zx6r and the angle and view is perfect. I love the way it looks a lot of compliments on the helmet itself! Thank you revzilla

Nice helmet!
Nice middle of the road helmet .the cheek pads are a little tight but I think they will break in nicely . Truthfully I've only wore it twice so take it with a grain of salt . Read lots of good reviews and order it a size small they run a little big !tons of compliments on the looks and a lot better quality than your base model helmets! Ill re review this product after a few more rides.

love this helmet!
Had this helmet for about a year now, weekend/fair weather rider on CB919. Vision level is very good, no issues in that area, moves a lot of wind which makes it nice to wear on warm/hot texas days, however due to the large amount of wind flow expect a lot of wind noise. I wear ear buds when i ride and on the days that i leave them at home the wind noise drives me nuts so its a give and take. I ride with out any type of wind screen and at high speeds (150mph+) the helmet will put some strain on your neck. Visor will catch wind during lane checks but after the first day you acclimate to it pretty well. Lots of compliments on it and no one else around here has one so i makes me stand out.

Fantastic!
Love this Icon helmet, very roomy around the mouth and nose and awesome vision during the day and even at night with a chrome visor fitted. A little noisy on the motorway but nothing to worry about. Ridden five hours straight with this helmet on and still very comfortable. Overall a fantastic helmet!

AWESOME!
Compared to my first gen HJC SY-MAX modular...this thing is like being in a library, very quiet. I wore a large in the the HJC and XL in the ICON. True to size for me.

Love this helmet
This helmet is very comfortable the padding sucks right to your face. Has great airflow for the hot days. Iv even closed all the vents and used it on my snowmobile and it was plenty warm. I love this helmet!

The Variant is not a helmet that would easily accept a Bluetooth system. There are no cut outs in the ears to hold the speakers, and the space between the helmet shell and the EPS is limited and does not leave much room for any kind of clamp to slide in. Some Bluetooth systems come with the ability to use an adhesive mount, which would allow you to mount the system to the side of the helmet shell. However, the user would still have to find a place for the speakers and they would likely be touching your ears regardless of their position.8 months ago

It works very well with the SENA SMH-10 bluetooth unit. The clamp mount works perfectly and allows for good mic placement. It's a bit of a tight fit with the speakers..I have to use my finger to adjust my ears after I put the helmet on or they get pinched by the speakers. Well I have had my Icon Variant (Rubatone and Gold Shield for over a year now, ordered from here at Revzilla, and the Sena SMH10 fits perfectly. And I use the clamp.The Helmet and Sena's work so well, this summer my son got the Icon Variant (Black Etched, Smoked Visor), and Sena SMH10 attached.
I can also report that just this afternoon at work, a fellow who rides a black and gold speed triple was in my office checking out my Variant and will be ordering the identical setup to mine, Rubatone, Gold Shield, SMH10s.

The face shield can be lifted while riding via the tab on the left hand side of the face shield. If you zoom in you can see the tab we are referring to. Or are you referring to the visor? That can definitely not be lifted/moved while riding.8 months ago

I wear custom ear plugs so every helmet is quite for me! But one feature with this helmet is that if I push my jaw forward it opens a airway under my ears! Right now in Texas it 101 and I just love this unintended feature along with the air flow is excellent over all. Yes you can. I actually own some gold lens for this helmet. It is great if you dont want to be seen completely. The tint lens under bright conditions allows your face to be seen. All tinted/mirrored lens are not intended for night use, but from my personal experience its fine. I see pretty well at night with these lens.Age: 18-24

Yes, there is a gold visor. I actually have it installed on mine and love it. As someone posted earlier, the gold visor does reflect your own face back at you in some light conditions. I don't find that this is distracting and the visor looks great on the helmet.Age: 35-44

In particular I'm wondering about the sizing in comparison to HJC (on/off road helmets). They are the only brand I've ever owned before, but it's time to move on. According to HJC's sizing, I should be a SM according to their size chart (just under 22cm head), but I ended up getting a XS because of the loose fit I felt with the SM helmet on. So, I'm wondering what difference in helmet shape makes in sizes.
