Icon Variant Ghost Helmet

For assignments off the official record, ICON offers the Ghost Carbon Variant. They've taken the standard Variant’s cross-terrain functionality and added a hand-laid carbon fiber shell, translucent supervents, and endurance yellow tinted Optics shield - all finished with a Rubatone tactile coating. We can neither confirm nor deny the specifics of any mission involving the Icon Variant Ghost Carbon.

Comfort, vision, protection. A wind tunnel refined shape, executed in a Carbon Fiber/Kevlar/Spectra shell construction matrix, along with an dual-density EPS core provide critical impact energy management. Extensive venting and a removable HydraDry wicking liner provide increased comfort by reducing rider fatigue. The anti-lift visor directs and channels airflow as it reduces the glare from an unyielding UV assault, while the extended eyeport and zero distortion optics provide an unrivaled field of view. If the streets are your area of operation - equip yourself for the fight with the Icon Variant.

Street Fighter! Pros: - High quality build with nice rubatone finish - Looks very cool with yellow visor, almost like Master Chief - Yellow visor works particularly well at night, perfect for night riders - Lots of air intakes you can open and close - Light but not "that" light, feels solid Cons: - Size fits my head well but chin pads are too tight, I can hardly close my mouth with the stock pads on. Need to cut some of the foam out from the pads. Besides the chin pad I'm totally happy with it. Nice street fighter look you got with this helmet. November 19, 2015
Best Helmet in its class!! Hello. My name is Reid V.i.P. Brown. I have written over 738 Reviews for Amazon.com, Virtual DJ, Sam Ash music stores, and many more tech or gear related product critiques. Ok, I own this helmet in the regular non variant version. This is the best helmet in its class of helmets for the years it was on top. It is light weight, low noise, has a direct air ventilation system in the front lip and top forehead location of the helmet. This helmet is layered with sleek and ghostly style carbon fiber which reduces weight, adds strength, and gives this helmet that aggressive street style you want to impress the girls and be able to hide your head from the cops when avoiding being seen going 45mph over the speed limit. (Do not attempt this) The face shield on this puppy is phenomenal from the blue blocker technology that gives you the added UV and slight privacy protection during the day, and the added light up the dark night vision you absolutely need on the those long rides home after work at Revzilla in Philly if thats where you work as I hope to work there in the future. The interior of the helmet is outstanding with a ultra fitted, replaceable, washable, padded inside, with a super aggressive urban camouflage pattern to impress the chicks even more and make you feel like a modern day renegade. "God bless the Renegade. HeeeEEyyyy. HeeeEEyyy, Living like were Renegade's". Great song for 2015! And back to the helmet. This helmet is DOT certified and could definitely pass the SNELL cert if tested. The side plates are also painted flat black to match the rest of the helmet and carbon fiber overlay. I would definitely recommend this helmet to any rider, any age, any skill level, and back the price up 100% from owning this helmet myself in the non variant model. So readers, my name is Reid V.i.P. Brown, known for breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest freestyle rap in 2011, and making a guest appearance on MTV's Hip Hop Squares on season 1 episode 6, in case the name Reid V.i.P. Brown looked familiar to you. I hope you all learned a little bit more about this Icon masterpiece and you should buy this product from Revzilla, which is a great company, with awesome gear and prices to die for. Sincerely, Reid Brown October 5, 2015
Cool look, great airflow! I bought this helmet for my 7 day ride in the Gunnison National Forest. We experienced rain, cool days, warm days, dusty trails and bright sunshine. This helmet was not made specifically for ATV riding but it worked pretty well. It is not as light as I wanted but I really liked the yellow face shield it reduced the need for sunglasses on those bright sunshine filled days. This helmet provides good dust protection and the fit allowed me to wear my prescription glasses. The helmet was comfortable and had great airflow. On the cool days I had to shut the vents to stay warm. I believe Icon has a great ATV/SXS helmet and should market it to those in our space. September 14, 2015
Love it! I love this helmet. It's majorly popular in motovlogging community and I had to see why. I got it and love everything about it. It fits perfectly and has amazing aerodynamics. I will keep to the variant in the future. July 27, 2015
Great Helmet Very pleased with the Icon Variant Ghost Carbon. I followed the size chart and got a size large however the fit is slightly too big so I ordered the Medium Cheek pads/liner. The S/M/L share the same shell FYI. The field of view and air flow are fantastic. The weight feels good and is lighter that most other helmets I have tired. The look of the helmet is awesome and paired with the Gold RTS shield looks even better. My only complaint is changing the face shield. You have to use a screwdriver, or small tool that is included, to remove 2 screws and the slide the shield out from under the visor. Be Very Careful! I pulled the visor out too far and caused a small hairline crack where the visor peaks meet. It does not effect anything and it is still solid however it was annoying. It was mostly my fault but I think it is definitely a weak point in the design. June 17, 2015
Icon ghost variant Great helmet but the wind is noticeable around 75mph. Other than that, it's an all around good helmet. Looks great, light weight, good venting, very comfortable. June 8, 2015
Totally impressed by the helmet The helmet has totally impressed me. It has really aggressive styling. I was expecting the helmet to be a little noisy and it's quite the opposite. The wind does grab the visor a little at highway speeds when you look around. But it's not obnoxious. It's very stable. I love the rubitone finish. The yellow visor takes some getting use too. It's nice not having to worry about changing visors for at night. Lots of ventilation. I got a size small and had to order a set of medium check pads. April 27, 2015
awesome helmet Helmet is pretty expensive but is super light and looks awesome on you when riding. April 13, 2015

A shopper asked: Can anyone report on the peak's effectiveness as a sun shade? Is the angle of the peak adjustable? Dec 12, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Brad L: The peak works well as a sunshade as long as the sun is at a high angle. I would estimate the effective angle of the shade as about 50º-60º. That is, it will work as long as the sun is 50º-60º above the horizon. The peak is a translucent grey and let's some light through but no direct hot spots and nothing that causes any distracting glare.

As an aside, I purchase the gold mirror shade which cuts out a enough sunlight during bright days. But when the sun is low and direct direct I had to augment the shade with sunglasses.

Dan M: Not adjustable, but the peak works extremely well as a sun shade, I can definitely see a difference if I angle my head straight up vs normal riding position. Apr 24, 2014

James H: It is not adjustable. It works great for me. I'm a dirt bike guy that's new to street, so I'm not very picky. Dec 12, 2013

Sean S: Non adjustable and wind noise but it's a great lid, I woulda bought the shoei but no gold mirror visor Dec 12, 2013

Jerry L: It is not adjustable. It does do well at blocking the sun, depending on your head position of course. I want to warn you that I purchased this helmet $520 and dropped it one time as I bent down to pick up my son. It hit a the floor and broke the visor. Revzilla wouldn't return or refund any of it and ICON doesn't make a replacment visor for it. I was very disappointed in the fact that I paid over $500 dollars for a helmet and it wasn't very durable. Other then the durability it is a great helmet, very light and looks cool. Don't drop it though! Dec 12, 2013

I. Cem O: I have the helmet. The bag it comes with is just a shopping bag with ropes attached. But that "helmet bag for a dirt bike helmet" idea sounds very promising - definitely did not think about that. Thank you Quinn Feb 6, 2014

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (1)
I. Cem O: the helmet vents like crazy. even with my balaklava on and all the vents closed and the chin protector installed the top of my head feels the cold wind go through at highway speeds. other than that, I don't see why it won't be suitable for sledding. Feb 6, 2014
