Icon Variant Big Game Helmet
This helmet is AWESOME, Period!!
I ordered the same size as my other 2 helmets which is 2x, and when it arrived i put it on and it is tighter than my other helmets. I think it will be just fine once broken in but right now it is very snug. I might suggest ordering a size bigger than your normal. I was told this by a friend who bought a variant last year but biggest size was 2x so I went with that. The helmet is awesome though. Can't wait to put it to use and loosen it up. Revzilla is my favorite place to shop, always ship very quickly. Waiting on my next order of boots I just put in right now :)

Great Flashy Helmet!
I've worn this helmet every day for about three months now. This is a great helmet (perfect for supermoto riders like me) that has an incredible field of view and the Big Game graphics are awesome.
The Icon Variant as a whole has been an awesome looking helmet that has been well crafted and well designed. I used to avoid Icon gear because historically, they have been awful. However, while browsing for a new helmet, I kept coming back to the Variant because it really is the perfect helmet for the urban hoodlum supermoto rider.
The helmet is incredibly comfortable. When I first got it, I thought I would have to return it to Revzilla because it squished my cheeks so much I had an awful chipmunk face that wasn't particularly comfortable. However, I read a number of reviews here that said once the pads break down, they get much more comfortable. So I kept wearing the helmet and sure enough, the pads lost their initial firmness, and my face is no longer smashed in chipmunk style. It has actually turned into one of the most comfortable helmets I've ever owned.
Styling wise, this helmet is incredible. Nothing looks more badass than this helmet on a supermoto bike doing wheelies and whatever else hoodlum things supermoto riders are typically known for. When I first saw the Big Game graphic, I thought it was stupid. Its basically a zebra pattern with a random lightning bolt on each side, with a rubbery type coating over it. However, its grown on me, and matched with Icon's mirrored gold lens for the Variant, it looks incredible (in my opinion).
The field of view is excellent, and has kinda spoiled me. The visor does catch wind on the highway, but you learn how you can tilt your head so that it doesn't tear your face off. I rarely notice it anymore. The airflow is excellent, and the vents are easy to open or close with gloves on. The liner is really comfortable and great at wicking sweat away.
Complaints wise, I have very little. The noise level is a little bit higher than some other helmets I've owned, but I wear ear plugs most of the time I ride, so this is less of a concern. Also, I got an XL helmet, but the shell size is massive with thicker foam pads. It makes for a bigger, bulkier helmet thats probably heavier than it needs to be for my head. It looks massive next to my old retired helmet.
Its a very safe feeling helmet and I often catch people either staring or taking pictures of me riding with it on. I never got that, even with some crazy graphics I've had on older helmets. Its definitely a unique shape that works great for the streets.

Boss unless you have little wimp neck.
This helmet is awesome... At low speeds. The variant is not quite as aerodynamic as Icon claim (surprised? I mean look at it) but as long as you keep your speed at or under 120kmph it remains quite comfortable. That being said, controlling road speed is an entirely different matter than wind speed. Pray you aren't riding into a headwind for any extended time (side winds are similarly irritating).
Now back to the awesome part: the huge field of view will likely ruin your last helmet's attempt to provide peripheral awareness. This helmet almost has the FOV of an open face lid (almost, it still has a nose piece) and flows more air than a turbofan engine. With the visor, harsh sunlight is almost never in your eyes. As an added bonus, the bizarre pattern really turns heads. Great visibility for cage driver awareness. I love this lid, but it's not for the faint of neck...

Performs as it should
Style: I've always wanted this helmet because I love the style of it. I've received a ton of complements on it from people that I ride with as well as people that just see me and give me a shout out on the street.
Fit: My head measures 23" (exactly in between sizes according to Icon's website) and bought the large. Not sure if the helmet fits amazing, or if my old lid was just so bad that anything would feel awesome.
Performance: I relied heavily on the reviews of different customers, and naively bought into the "no head shake until I reached 120 mph" that others are writing. This is absolutely ridiculous, which I should have known just by thinking logically. Highway riding is fine unless you have moderate to high winds. Once you hit the interstate and you're doing 80-85 MPH, even a slight cross wind will pick up the visor from the side and cause a lot of head movement. If you're considering purchasing this helmet as a daily commuter for interstate riding, do yourself a favor a move onto something else. I take this on an hour long commute via the interstate 1-2 times per week and hate it. Would it keep me from buying it again? Absolutely not. However, if I made that commute any more often, I would definitely rethink the purchase. If you're buying this to cruise around town, don't worry about the visor doing anything but blocking out the sun.
Overall: Overall its a great helmet and it does what its supposed to... looks amazing while cruising around town. I'd definitely recommend it, just not for a long commute at high speeds.

Great product, A little snug but gets better with time
This is a great helmet and truly well-formed outer shell. The visor could be attached a little firmer and would most likely break if you dropped it hard enough on it but otherwise good all around helmet. Comes a tiny bit small in comparison to other helmets but really softens up on the ears after a week or two of riding.
The visor is surprisingly not too strenuous on your neck at speeds up to about 120mph but gets difficult to keep steady beyond that.

People will stare
LOVE this lid. As for the Variant itself, it is a pretty sick helmet. Best for urban riding but no problems on the highway. Many people worry the visor will catch air and pull your head but unless your canyon carving or constantly bombing through traffic you shouldn't have any problems. The Big Game comes with a dark smoke shield(nice touch!). People will stare. Which I like...that means they SEE me and won't forget I'm there! haha Fit and Finish are superb. Watch the revzilla video review for a great look at the graphic.
