I'm on my second season with the icon alliance SSR helmet and it's still going strong. Lets start with the looks: I have the speedfreak (which isn't on this site) in red and the shiny finish with bright graphics really gets people's heads turning. I have gotten numerous compliments on my helmet.
It is much quieter inside that the HJC CL-SP i owned prior. It is also much more comfortable. I got a size L which was recommended. For the first season it was pretty tight but now that the padding has been washed and sweat in a lot it has broken in well.
This helmet doesn't seem to do the best job at flowing air though. My head is almost always sweaty after a ride if its a hot day so you will probably be flipping the shield up a lot.
I dropped it from about 3 feet and the little wing popped partly off. Into the second season the padding doesn't really want to stay snapped in. It keeps coming partly undone when i put the helmet on, but it makes no difference in riding comfort as you can't notice it (just hear it un-snap).
Would i buy another one? No...i would buy the new Alliance helmet and pay the premium for the better features. This helmet is truly a great buy, but it is getting outdated. If you can pick it up cheap go for it, you won't be disappointed.

I'm glad I went and tried it on before I bought it. Because I normally wear a Large. But had to get an XL. Other then that great helmet.
