Icon Alliance Solid Helmet

The Icon Alliance Solid Helmet is the spirited refinement of the original Alliance SSR Helmet, its predecessor. The new Icon Alliance Helmet improves upon the original design in some key ways making it a good option for a mid-price range sport helmet. Nothing beats a solid color to emphasize the styling of a helmet and the Icon Alliance is available in a variety of colors and a Rubatone matte or gloss finish that gives the rider choice in their simplicity. The kick ass Icon Alliance Helmet packs a lot of bang for your buck which is why it is one of our favorites.

Great bang for the buck Aria fits me perfect but way out of my price range! This Icon fit me similar to an Aria Signet Q. Great price! March 31, 2014
Great helmet, even better price! If you want a good helmet for under $200 this is the one you should get. Even better I got this one for $100. Helmet looks great and is really comfortable. The only problem I had is that the sizing is a little off. I am usually an "XL" in helmets but I tried the XL and it seemed a little tight, not enough to hurt but the constant pulling on and off would bug me and hurt my ears. So I went a size bigger and got a "2XL" which is perfect! BTW my hat size is 7 1/2. Icon always makes great products IMO. February 11, 2014
True bang for buck Have been using helmet for about month, can't really say anything bad, not to loud but really good airflow great vision would decently but another. March 17, 2014
Ugly Looks ugly fits tight don't buy makes your head look like its flat March 4, 2014
Great bang for that buck A great inexpensive helmet. I got the rubatone on closeout so it was even better. it fits a little large I think its because of my headshape. haven't tested the airflow because ive only had it in the cold weather so far. the only thing that bothers me is icons pinlock system its near impossible to open with gloves on. Quiet and True to fit I recently purchased the Rubatone Icon Alliance and It fits near perfect. Still need to break it in; after that it'll fit perfect. I bought a small and my hat size is 7-71/8 so the sizing chart is pretty accurate. This is my 4th Icon helmet in 4 years and I love it. Btw Rubatone helmets don't get scratched up and I always put decals/stickers on them to my liking :) February 3, 2014
Slammin! This is my first full face helmet. I've tried on Shoei, Nolan, and others. I know it's my only head, but it's hard to drop $400 or $500 on a helmet. This was a great bargain for me. I have a small head (22"), and the small is a perfect fit with no pressure points or discomfort. It is a little heavy. I don't know if it would be the best helmet for a day-long ride, but it's fine for my 30 minute commute to work or riding around town. The quality seems to be very good, and I haven't noticed any fogging issues. The only real problem is installing the face shield. It's hard to tell when it's secured, and I've had it come loose once or twice while I was riding. Vision, however, seems to be very good, and the helmet is very stable at hiway speeds. There are better helmets out there for sure. But, at this price I can't imagine a better bargain. I'm thinking of getting another as a backup. November 24, 2013

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Jose H: Purchased this for my wife. Jul 12, 2014
Kyle E: Great helmet for the money. Under high speeds the mask does tend to push up tigh against your face, if you plan on doing more aggresive riding or track time I would suggest a higher level lid (Shoei, Arai, etc) May 28, 2014
edgar m: needed a simple black helmet for everyday use. May 27, 2014
Charlie M: Price and fetures are great. Mar 26, 2014
Danielle N: I wanted the safest, most plain-looking helmet I could get at a cheap price (because I'm a student). I opted for blue over black because it seemed a bit more fun and would hopefully be a little more visible (normally I'd gravitate for matte black). It fits perfectly and I love it.

Sometimes when it's cold and I put the visor down, it steams a little. Hasn't been dire.

K R: Good price/performance especially for street rider. Gets loud over 60mph, but not an issue at below speeds. Sep 10, 2013
cesar a: good reviews and great price planning on using on my new Yamaha BOLT to keep bugs and stuff of my face Aug 22, 2013
A shopper asked: Is this helmet more round or more oval shaped? It isn't featured in the "Icon fitting" video. I found my head to be much more narrow than round (about 8" across, 11" long). Aug 9, 2013

Nick R: I guess I'd have to say "oval". When I first got the helmet, the only thing that wasn't immediately comfortable was the padding at my cheeks, it needed a little "breaking in" in this area...and I had to get a size larger than my actual head size to fit my dreadlocks under my helmet.

I believe that RevZilla allows free returns for items that don't fit as well...you might check their policy on this before taking my word for it though, just to be safe.

Hope that helps!

Alex L: I'd say more round. I'm a medium and the medium they offer seems to run a bit large.. all and all I did not like the helmet, it was heavy and felt bulky. And too much wind travel making too much noise ... I use Suomy Vandal helmets and love them.. there is an AGV helmet comparable to the price of the alliance that I recommend looking at.

Robert B: I've got a long, narrow head and this helmet works well for me. It's the only one I've found so far that does. Overall, after 3500 miles, I've been happy with it. Hope that helps!

A shopper asked: Will this helmet meet the requirements of track days that require snell certification? Apr 30, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The Icon Alliance will meet standards on tracks that only require DOT certification. However, keep in mind that the big majority of tracks require a SNELL approved helmet. In that case, you will not be able to use your Icon Alliance on the track. May 4, 2012

A shopper asked: If the helmet doesn't fit, can I send it back in for a replacement? Jan 19, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
MisoFine: Yes! One of the great things about Revzilla is that if the size for any reason isn't the perfect fit for you, can always send it back and get a different size for free the first time, no questions asked. It's a great way to get your size and feel confident when purchasing especially with a new helmet.
