Great Spring Helmet So Far I was looking for a helmet with great ventilation for the spring and summer. So, far it has been working very well. When I tilt my head slightly forward on the freeway, I can feel the cool air moving across my temples/forehead. As mentioned in the description, it also comes with a tinted visor. April 20, 2015
Looks really dope on my kitchen table! Here's the thing...gangster graphics, quality construction, fits like OJ's glove. Remember that scene from "Cool Runnings" when John Candy has to hammer fist the helmet onto Sanka's head? Yeah, so my wife's the sexier, younger and MUCH thinner John Candy, and I'm the blonder, whiter, MUCH americaner Sanka. It just don't fit. I have a pretty round dome and this thing is definitely looong oval. Thought thinner cheek pads would help...negative ghostrider. As if getting it on wasn't hard enough (the helmet that is...no virility problems on this end), taking it off is a whole 'nother story (again, helmet not skivvies). Now I'm just gonna assume that from a third person perspective it must look something akin to witnessing the miracle of life spring forth on the Serengeti...uncomfortable for all parties involved. That said, I sure wish it fit because it's flat out sick looking. Graphics look like they were peeled off the back of some rum soaked whaler...or Pabst soaked hipster...either way, duh! Winning! Construction quality is great for the price point and it's not even manufactured in a country run by commie b@stards...lead poisoning not included I assume? Anyway, buy it if you're long skulled, buy an Airframe if you're not. Oh yeah, don't even think about it if you're Alfred E. Newman eared...unless you want the side of your head to look like Holyfield. April 1, 2015
Great Overall Helmet Was looking specifically for a cephalopod oriented helmet and Icon Airmada delivered in spades! You can practically feel the raw power of the deep sea beast flowing through you as your ride. Although I can't confirm this scientifically, I feel like the rubber of my tires becomes significantly stickier when I wear the helmet, as if the essence of the dormant Kraken on the helmet stretches out it's arms and infuses the tires themselves. I have successfully sunk at least 5 marine vessels while wearing the helmet with ease. Wonderfully bold, old world Kraken graphic wrapped onto a comfortable, well vented, afforable helmet. I would definitely recommend. August 28, 2014
Best helmet i've ever had I bought this helmet for its looks, but it turned out to be quiet, and cool as well. I received so many compliments on it that at one point I was tired of people complimenting it and asking me questions. Unfortunately some guy decided not to check his blind spot and I slid basically face first at 40mph with this helmet, and it did the job it was made for perfectly. I'll forever be a fan of the airmada. August 19, 2014
The finish on the helmet is excellent. When you first try it on it is going to be tight. If you have a strong jaw line you will most likely need the smaller set of cheek insterts. Wind noise is ok but I don't do any high speed droning on the interstate. Airflow is amazing. Super easy to change the face shield. August 11, 2014
Great helmet This helmet is badass, great areo-dynamics, and a sick design. Not too pricy for a good durable helmet July 23, 2014
Outstanding helmet for the money I've had this helmet for about 3 months, and I've been extremely happy with it. Stepping up from a budget helmet, the difference is unbelievable. After a week or so of break-in (at first the helmet was painfully tight to get on and off), this helmet fits perfectly. It is snug and secure at speed, and it feels super stable on the highway (important for me, as I have a naked bike). That being said, there is a lot of wind noise at highway speeds. If you're going a long way, I would recommend some earplugs. The field of vision is massive, and is one of my favorite aspects of the Airframe. On that note, the anti-fog visor has worked excellently so far. Air flow has been very good with this helmet, and I've found the vents to do a good job of keeping water out in the rain. Overall, I can't really find anything to complain about with this helmet. Besides a being outrageously tight at the beginning, it has been stellar. I have this helmet in the antique colorway, and I've gotten endless compliments on it. It's hard to go wrong with the Airframe. June 9, 2014
You won't regret it It's a little spendy comparatively. You could probably find something similar or more suited to your tastes if you looked around. I used the Icon sizing chart and it fits perfectly. It's a little snug getting it on, but once it's on it's secure. It's a little heavier than I expected from a $265 helmet, but it fits so well and securely that you can't tell once it's on. The ventilation is AMAAAAAAAAAZING, no complaints there. If you have the visor closed but not locked in with the pin it whistles a little bit, but just crack it more or push it down a little to lock it and you're golden. It's a bit loud with all the vents open, but 70mph is tolerable for a long time; I just tuck behind my wind screen and it's pretty quiet. Turning your head to the side or looking behind you on the freeway you don't feel any excess pulling or drag on the helmet which is really nice. Great horizontal field of vision, vertical could be a little better, sometimes I have to pull it up a little bit if I'm tucking hard, but it's not really that big of a deal. A few weeks after I got it a little kid at a party found it and dropped it on the concrete, but the paint didn't chip or gouge, just a few scuffs that polished out really easily. I've found that switching visors is a LOT easier and faster if you put the visor on first, and THEN put on the side plates. It makes it a lot easier to see where everything's lining up and for some reason mine has a hard time locking in with the side plates on. Comes with a clear and dark smoke visor, both are great, haven't had any problems with fogging in the colder months, both resist scratches really well and clean easily. Bottom line it looks awesome and performs well for what you pay. There's some slight annoyances, but if you're riding instead of sitting in a chair looking at it then you won't care. May 15, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Matthew B: With summer coming up, living in Texas, I wanted a stylish full face helmet that vents well. Mar 29, 2015
Keith O: Great graphics & safety features. Wanted a wild print on my helmet that wasn't like the common old prints like we see everywhere on the roads today. Feb 12, 2015
Patrick H: Graphics matched the Kraken on my snowboard and once you feel the pull of the Kraken its hard to keep away. Also 40% off is hard to argue with, heres hoping i like the helmet as much as my Nitek Interceptor. Will review as soon as it arrives with comparison as the Interceptor sells for about what this does when not on sale, i.e. $300 range. Jan 25, 2015
R E: Love the graphic. Excellent Helmet! You can't beat the price. RevZilla has the best pricing around. Jan 17, 2015
Mary R: Fit, style, price! Dec 29, 2014
Ethan E: basically, I like tentacle porn, so this was a natural choice Dec 21, 2014

Jackie T: It's Badass! Aug 19, 2014

aaron b: love the sea monster style and and the classical black and white color scheme Jul 12, 2014
Caleb S: The graphic is awesome Jun 23, 2014
Justin H: graphic and air flow system...I will post my review after using it for a couple months. Mar 16, 2014
Kevin D: At first, I was hesitant to make this purchase because I already had an Icon, and wasn't really upgrading, but at ~260 dollars, this helmet was a reasonable price, and the graphic was just way too cool to pass up. The helmet doesn't provide anything that my icon alliance dark doesn't provide, but to be honest, I don't care. I would recommend anybody looking for a noggan protector who doesn't care about brand or bluetooth or super quiet rides at 500 miles per hour to buy this. Mar 4, 2014

A S asked: I've read some icons come with a smoke lens in the box? is that true with this helmet?
Also, if you got a reflective lens would you go silver mirror, or the blue reflective?

Michael E: Mine came with both smoked and clear so I'd say yes.

I bought the blue helmet and got the blue reflective and it's awesome. If you got the other color, I think I'd go with the silver.

kyle w: Would you be able to post up a picture of the blue on blue? I would like to see it if possible to get an idea of how it would look before I pull the trigger Mar 23, 2014
Ethan R: Mine did come with a smoke lens. As for a reflective lens I can't say since I've never used one. I'd probably choose the gold reflective based on what I like personally. Jan 13, 2014

William F: Yes it comes with a smoke lense, I would buy an extra reflective lense, gold looks sick on it with the white and brown, just to deflect the light beaming into your eyes Jan 13, 2014

Emily F: Yes, smoke lens came with mine. Between silver and blue, I would choose silver mirror. I personally think the blue reflective wouldn't go well with the brown coloring. Jan 13, 2014

Sierra S: This helmet did come with a smoke lens. We also go a silver mirror lens with it and it looks good.. I don't think the blue would be the same blue on the helmet. Jan 13, 2014

Jordan M: Yes, it came with a dark smoke lens in the box. As to your second question, that's all a matter of personal preference. I have the blue/orange version so I would probably go with the blue, but all of them are going to look nice. Jan 14, 2014

A shopper asked: Is there a slot inside the helmet to add speakers for a Bluetooth device? Feb 25, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Chris H: Yes, There is space behind the cloth/mesh in the ear area that can fit coin shaped speakers-earbuds/pads. I use the Sena SMH-10 Bluetooth Headset Dual Pack, and they fit great! Feb 26, 2015

A shopper asked: Since my size isn't available, where could I get a blue one XL?
I understand that this item will no longer be sold here , and I have looked other places.
Any advice ?

Joseph S: Unfortunately, I think you are old of luck. I did a quick search and the only sizes still available are 2XL or larger. My only question is if you are sure you need an XL? I ask because if you are going by the Icon size chart, you might be the next size up. I know from previously owning this same type of Icon helmet that I wear a Large, but according to the size chart I would wear a Medium. Other than possibly finding one on Ebay or Craigslist, you might be too later. Sorry and I wish you luck. Feb 17, 2015

Steven S asked: I wear a medium alliance should I order a medium airmada? Nov 26, 2014

Joe L: The Airmada medium fits tighter then The Alliance medium. I wear a Fitted baseball hat that is a 7 1/4 if you need another reference .. Hope this helps Nov 27, 2014

Jason S: I've worn a large in Shoei for years, but I had to move up to an XL in the Airmada, and it was still a little snug. Love it, though. Nov 26, 2014

Jehmia B asked: hi. I have ordered this helmet and I wanted to ask more about fitment. … the helmet fits my head but it feels a little tight is it adjustable with the padding ? Feb 16, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Joshua W: A helmet should fit tight as long as there is no pressure point. When you wear it for a bit the helmet liner will break in and conform to your head so it will loosen up a bit. A helmet that fits loose on your head and moves around easily is useless. Feb 19, 2014
Reply to Joshua Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
William F: This helmet is supposed to be alittle tight for the first couple weeks I have had mine for about 1.5-2 months and it's finally broken in 100%. It's an aggressive but safe helmet, it's tight around the neck and forehead at first Feb 18, 2014
