Love this helmet I'm brand new to motorcycle riding and was looking for a helmet that would meet my needs without breaking the bank. This helmet has delivered very well. There is an occasional whistling noise when traveling at highway speeds but it doesn't occur on every ride or last an entire ride. The internal sunglasses are an excellent addition and the helmet is light and very comfortable. I would recommend this helmet to anyone who is looking for a sub $200 helmet. May 8, 2013
This is a great Helmet This is my 2nd IS-16 helmet and I am extremely happy with them. I wear glasses and I LOVE the integrated tinted sunglasses feature. This helmet has great features and a very reasonable price. May 6, 2013
Great bang for the buck!! Love the helmet!!!! Light and awesome looking what more can you want!!! Would buy anther HJC if an when its time for a new helmet. Thanks, George May 6, 2013
Perfect medium-low budget stylish helmet. I am very pleased with this helmet. It was true to size, cost wasn't too expensive, yet it still has plenty of useful features such as the venting system and dual visors. April 29, 2013
Great Helmet Good solid helmet for the money. Nice graphic designs and the push-down sun visor is something I will never buy a helmet without again. Awesome idea! Only down sides are the ventilation issues at lower speeds and a better selection of colors to choose from. February 20, 2013
Great helmet with lots of nice features A great helmet for the money. Love the sunshield. Breath guard and chin curtain work great in cold weather. Graphics look great, but stripes don't exactly line up at the back of the helmet -- one side is slightly higher. Nice upgrade from my old HJC CL-14 and a lot lighter. October 29, 2012
overall excellent, does fog up some in cooler weather, sun visor option excellent, style, design very cool This is my 4th HJC helmet. Best design of the bunch so far. Deployable sun visor is excellent idea (especially early or late day ridding when sun changes are a factor). It is eye glass friendly. Could use better defog venting as it tents to fog at low riding speed and/or cooler weather (50's). Very brilliant color. Graphics nearly look 3D. Outer visor changes very easily. Good value for the $. April 30, 2012
Great Value I've had this helmet for about 5 months now and I really like it. The only problem I hae is that as some temperatures at lower speeds, the ventillation could be better, but it isn't horrible. The helmet is comfortable and aside from sitting at a stop light and sweating, I tend not to think about it. The vision is good too. March 15, 2012

A shopper asked: I tried on an IS CL16 in Australia and it was a large and seemed to fit quite well (pushed the cheeks in a little, bit of pressure on the top of teh head but not too much). My head measurement, however, is 57cm and so corresponds to a medium on the HLC's size chart. What size do you think should I buy a large or a medium, will the foam give a little with use?

Thanks

Kartik A: I ordered a small size, going by the size chart and at first try, I thought it was too tight, but couple of tries later, I felt that it was just snug, with good fit over my head, and cheeks. Also, it being snug does NOT allow the helmet to move side by side. I personally would go with the medium, instead of the large, because I feel that with continued use, it should feel more and more comfortable. Though if you feel like you have some unusual pressure points when you wear it, then you might want to try different helmets that fit your head type, but with regards to head measurement, the size chart is quite accurate..hope this helps. Jeremy W: My head is 56.5 cm and I wear the medium and it fits me well. After some break in, it got minutely looser, but a small would have been too tight for me. Large was definitely too big for my head.

If you can, go try on the medium before you buy. You may even want to check other brands to see if their fit is more suited to your head. HJCs are usually round-ish and by the locations you mention that you feel the pressure, you may be more oval shaped (I'm guessing).

My gut feeling is that you may want the medium, but I really recommend trying it on first.

Will M: I currently wear a L and will most likely be stepping down to a M on my next helmet purchase.

The L fit great at first but after a while, when the helmet was broken in, it's a bit loose now. I tried new pads and it still fits too loosly, per the experts. If you can, try on a M.

Eric T: They tend to run a little small. Go with the large. Mine still fits the same as the day I bought it. Sep 16, 2013

A shopper asked: Is this helmet compatable with blue tooth speakers for the ear sockets? Aug 23, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Shane L: I've owned this helmet since April of 2012. I don't use blue tooth, but the helmet does have recessed areas for both ears that look like they'd accommodate a thin speaker(s). Depth various from approximated 1/4 inch on the lower side to about 1/2+ inch on the top side.

The standard stick-in-your-ear blue tooth would not work, as you could not get the helmet on over it.

Beyond that, I'd suggest contacting HJC for recommendations. Hope this helps.

A shopper asked: My head measurement is exactly at 23 1/4..maybe a hair under .....that is the very beginning of the large size according to the size chart..but i notice there is a gap from the end measurement of one size to the beginning measurement of the next size.....so would i also fit a medium and would I be better off ordering that size since xtra s,s,m have a smaller size shell than the L,xtra L, and xxL? RevZilla: We find the IS-16 to fit rather true to HJC's size chart. Based on a measurement of 23-1/4", we recommend a size Large. Apr 13, 2012
