Great commuter option I spent a lot of time looking at laptop-friendly cases because I didn't want a hulking box on the back of my hyperstrada. In the end, I went w/ a 46-liter moto topcase, not a scooter one, and am happy with it. Looks wise, it doesn't completely destroy the "cool" factor, but I wasn't super concerned about that anyway. I can fit my work bag, TNF Surge, with a 15" laptop and a lunch box on my way to&from work. At work, my helmet, pants and glove fit in there, along with some extras like a grocery bag, bungee, straps, tire plugger kit, extra gloves, and sidestand plate. I now adjust my mirrors to just see the sides of the V46, an extra convenience, and the finish is good but it does show scrapes easily (poly bag or rubber boot soles rubbing against it) but they can be wiped off. The wind & water proofing is great and installation was very easy using the Givi mount for a hyperstrada - important if you really want the weight limits the case is capable of, without risking cracking the plastic side rails. I haven't yet installed the brake kit, but looks straightforward enough. September 19, 2014
Probably the best addition to my bike so far The V46 top case is not the biggest they make, but it is size proportionate to my V Strom 650 and holds plenty of cargo. It has allowed me to use the bike for all sorts of things that would not have been possible with only side cases. The build quality and aesthetics are excellent and it draws compliments wherever I go. NOTE: if you intend to store helmets in it, be aware that it will hold two average size Larges or one XL modular. September 9, 2014
Perfect i've previously owned the touratech zega top box with rapid trap ($$$). it's a great box, but i destroyed it in a crash (saved my camera gear though). not wanting to spend as much on touratech, but wanting a solild brand, givi fits the bill. it's also lighter and roomier plus it's aerodynamic (this could have been a factor in my crash) also the reflective elements up high are real plus for visibility. no idea if it will protect my camera gear going down at 80 mph on the highway like the touratech box did... i don't see why not... but i don't intend to find out. it's a nice system with a high quality of build—and a real key (can't say the same for the touratech locks). i pair it with the aluminum SRA5112 givi mount designed for the R1200GSWA, it's a great piece. much better than the plastic givi mounts i've seen. the bike looks very stock with the top case off. it's a hard part to find in stock at the moment. if i could have purchased it at revzilla i would have. with the V46 on, there is the perfect amount of clearance to still open the stock pannier lids. Excelent, although exensive product. This is an excellent product. Very sturdy and practical. Only complaint is the expense. The cost of the box PLUS an expensive support plate, PLUS the cost of having my shop install it. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Really toooo much. August 25, 2014
Nicely designed. This case is built like quality hard luggage, similar to the well-known molded musical instrument cases but with nicer features. This size is large enough to hold at least 2 bags of groceries or a full face helmet, jacket and pants. My Shoei Quest has to be on its side to fit unless you put it dead center in the case. It has a rigid integral carrying handle that fits my hand wearing a winter riding glove. The latch seems tricky at first but once you use it a few times you get the hang of it. The case conveniently snaps onto the GIVI M5 mounting plate (reviewed separately) while the latch is locked so you don't need the key to put it on. I have only had it 2 days so my durability rating is based solely on appearance. You get 2 keys, one is over-molded. Based on this product I would by a GIVI case again. August 2, 2014
OK, mounting system is best thing Have not had a chance to test the waterproofness of this box. It mounts very easily. The box lock is OK, but can be a little tricky. It does not catch as easily as it might, and I think it would be very easy for a thief to defeat. While the product is good, I'd buy an alternative if I had it to do over. I'd buy are more squared box (more room to store items) and would likely go for a Pelican box or aluminum box for added security. July 21, 2014
Perfect fit on my KLR650 Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Great overall design and it has plenty of room for a full faces helmet, gloves and rain gear. June 23, 2014
Perfect for commuting and weekend travel Unless you plan on traveling the continent for day's on end this case should fit your needs for a storage solution, every day use. Givi products have never let me down and have been using them for 25 years. May 12, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Randy W: I was in the search of an alternative to the BMW factory top-case for my R1200RT, it is a very sturdy very roomy and has a very nice detachable feature, to detach it from the case a very nice feature, I would not hesitate to buy this case for another bike in the future. Sep 29, 2014
Jonathan R: My backpack is bursting it the seams with all the gear I carry and my wife will like the backrest.

Dennis C: Attractive and well built Jun 19, 2014
Sharon C: I wanted a topcase that would look good and keep my gear dry and would look good on the bike.. The optional silver cover will match my bike and I won't have wet gear anymore! I'm looking forward to being able to just toss stuff in there and hit the road! May 11, 2014
Peter K: Bought for my 2011 Concours May 5, 2014
Brad C: Every summer I do a lot of touring on my NT700. I needed the extra storage capacity of the GIVI Monokey since I camp and fish along the way. Looking forward to many long rides and a new, roomy, secure place to keep my stuff.

A s: I needed a larger top case to replace the smaller Givi I have on my MG Breva. Moved up to monokey from monolock, and added all the accessories (stoplight, backrest, etc) . Revzilla has been great with service in the past and this time they price matched Twistedthrottle, and applied my Zilla Cash too. Makes me a loyal customer. Feb 6, 2014
Greg M: I commute on my bike a lot, and this case is the perfect size to carry my backpack which I stuff with my lunch, work shoes, and laptop. Also great for running errands on the bike, which I do a lot more of now that I'm not limited to just what I can carry in my backpack. Safer, since it makes the bike more visible, and it's way more comfortable than riding with a 20lb. pack on my back. I also like the extra ruggedness and weatherproofness of the Monokey cases. Looks nice too. Dec 1, 2013
A S: Chose it because Givi is well known for being simply the best in the market place. Ordered the 445FZ monorack arms kit for my Kawi Ninja 650R and they went on 1-2-3. The mounting system is great, the case is unbelievably greatâ??sturdy, doesn't move at all on its mount and definitely quite secure to anything but maybe someone with an axe. If you need a great topcase, this is the way to go. Nov 10, 2013
Lee S: Need more room. Also bought for safety aspect as I added an Admore LED lighting kit to it. Nov 4, 2013

William S: Givi quality and space for two helmets combined with Revzilla prices... winner! Sep 9, 2013
Thomas D: At this year's Americade, it was the most common non-OEM top case as I walked around the parking lots. Aug 27, 2013
Douglas G: Had a GIVI case for many years on previous bikes. Never leaked, never failed, survived a crash to live again on the next bike.
Great case!

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
Erik W: SR357. There is one that is cheaper but it is weaker. I wouldn't use the cheaper one because I have seen online that too much weight etc with with the cheaper mount broke a sub frame on an FJR. I have the SR357 on my 08 FJR and it works well. The light kit works as stated but is not impressive. I look to eventually mod it with a bunch of LEDs.

Berkeley F: Do what I did -- go to the GIVI site and find the icon marked "My Motorcycle." I typed in and then and it went to another GIVI page which showed you need TWO product s--(1) sidebar mounting arms (445FZ monorack sidearms) and then the M5 Monokey (universal) mounting plate kit.

Anytime you buy GIVI stuff, their superb website SHOWS you what you need, for your exact motorcycle model. The Revzilla site should have told you that but I think it doesn't. When I got the equivalent mounting kits for my 2004 BMW r1150r, they fit and installed PERFECTLY. Very cool! Good luck.

I would have sent you the links but the Revzilla page doesn't allow it. They should EITHER tell you what I did, or allow HTML in such replies. Oh well!

GSownerinDC: I can't speak to the color, but the V46 holds my XXL EXO900 scorpion helmet on its side, with room to spare for gloves and other misc gear (not enough to hold a jacket though). I had to experiment with a bunch of different monokey cases before I found one that would fit my helmet, as the monokey line tends to get wider and shallower as you go up in capacity. By contrast, some of the monolock cases are skinnier but taller and will accomodate a helmet standing up. They are also more affordable and smaller profile. See the recommended products for more details. Mar 12, 2012

Whitey: Depends on the size. I fit an XL Shoei Qwest with a Sena Bluetooth mounted on it in my V46 and I imagine you could fit up to a single XXL Multitech. They market it as a 2 helmet case but I've only been able to fit two helmets if they are L or smaller helmets; otherwise, it's a single helmet case. Feb 11, 2012

Patrick RStaff: In order to mount a Givi Top Case to your 2013 Tiger 800XC, you will need the Givi SR6401 rack. The E55 Tech Monokey Topcase accommodates 2 full face helmets depending on their size.

We do not currently ship oversized items like the Givi top cases outside of the US.

Jerel M: Hello,

You will need to confirm with Zilla on the fitment as I have a different bike. However, if you're looking to fit 2 helmets the 46l is too small. I can only fit 1 and thats with the document holder removed. Fairly simple to install. Good luck.

Whitey: 2012 was the Year Suzuki changes things up. I know the side racks are different but you may be able to "make" it work. Take it apart and see where the holes line up and if it's close try it, if not, send it back and call Givi. They actually answer their phone and can can give you a part number if Revzilla can't.

Enjoy your strom, I love mine!

Whitey: Look for a Givi bike-specific mount for your bike, SW-Motech makes a side-mount for Givi luggage and you could buy two and mount them as side-luggage. I use E45's for my side luggage which are just as big and I think they look okay.

The V46 does come with a generic mount you can try to hook up if your brave.

RevZilla: Givi does not make any bike-specific mounting hardware for a Honda VTR250. If you already have a luggage rack, and are feeling mechanically creative, you can attach the Givi E-250 Universal Top-Plate Kit to your existing rack. There are no guarantees, however, with regard to fit.

Rahul P: to have this awesome topbox you need 3 items - The topbox, the mounting kit and the mounting plate. The kit runs $75-$150 and the plate is about $40. You'll have to check other websites to figure out the one you need. Im fairly certain you can find one for your V-Strom. Oh, and Givi said my kit would not work with my OEM panniers. that was false. I had to use some longer bolts and extra washers to line everything up, but worked fine, now I have all 3 boxes. Aug 19, 2013

Be sure to double check the adapter data I supplied as the plate is $96

A shopper asked: I already have a V46 top case and mounting hardware. What I want to do is add the "matching" panniers to my 2004 BMW R 1150RT. Ideally, the top case mount works with whatever Givi recommends for mounting the side cases. Can you recommend side cases and do you install? What is the approximate cost for panniers, mounting hardware and installation? Thanks. Jul 11, 2014
