The latch mechanism is a little annoying, it's big and easy enough to use with gloves on, but sometimes it doesn't quite want to latch. You also can't latch it unless the key is in.
Inside, the document holder inside the lid is rather hard to use with any regularity as it is very hard to open and then re-latch.
Other than these two things though, the case is great. The buttons to open and to release from the rack are big, good feel, and easy to press. The case is solid when latched shut, I don't worry about someone being able to open it without my key.
Yes, I recommend this product.

The guys at Revzilla were great at answering all my questions prior to purchase. Shipping was very fast for this size package and no quibbles on price matching the product. The whole process was very painless and exactly what I was hoping for. Oh yeah, and the trunk looks and functions great as well !!

I used this bag/case on my yamaha wr250r for a solid seveb months and six thousand miles . I basically used the box to run around town for small purchases. The box looks deceivingly smaller in stature than there larger 46 liter boxes but packs quite a bit. I can fit my aria xd3 helmet, (inside the helmet: Daniele pro carbon gloves, Olympia orange vest), and then wrap the Daniese Portland 2 with armor (size48) around the helmet and still latch the givi case; while shopping, at the beach or anywhere I don't want to schlep around my attire. I then would buy whatever I need and put the gear on and stick the purchases inside. For trips to Costco or the supermarket where I wasn't filling up the shopping cart; the givi case and a medium size backpack would handle the duty.
The case is large enough for around town or a 1-2 day trip, and small enough where you don't get buffeting or loose the streamlineness at speeds of 70-80 mph. Also when weighted down the case/bike didn't feel top heavy .
For installation I bought a ProMotobillet rack for around $130 that mounted onto the rear fender of the bike. There product was solid and with a bit of fanagaling and patience I installed the givi plate adaptor. The case snaps onto the adaptor easily and is secure once mounted. I really liked my Givi case. It made the bike super useful for those trips around town: Costco, home depot, bed bath, beach, restaurants, etc.
The case never got in the way of lane splitting at highway speeds, it took about a few days to get the feel of the case, but overall the case was indispensable, enough that it took the place of my F-150 for 80% of the tasks.
Update I have since taken off the adaptor plate and the case off the Yamaha WR250R since I now exclusively use the moto on the dirt. When hitting the dirt trails the large 2 foot bumps and jumps would cause me to hit my tailbone on the plate; so it became an issue.
I have since gotten a Triumph street triple 675 and will probably get the custom rack to fit the case for two up riding. I have a tail bag for the Triumph but in instances where I am gone overnight or need to carry a second person the tail bag sits on the seat- so it is a no go.
Lastly, I was going to make some LEDs for the large wrap around lenses, but never had the time to futz with it. I was also thinking about using some silver foil HVAC tape to line the inside of the plastic under the red side reflector to help refract the light from headlights back for better visibilty but never did it. Thanks for reading my novel. ;-)
Yes, I recommend this product.

I mounted this on my 2009 G650GS after I got an adapter mount for monokey cases. The capacity is excellent and it is mounted firmly. Through a few rainstorms with no leaks. Note however that my XXL Scorpion Transformer helmet only fits in on its side. I cannot fit two helmets in, but it will fit my helmet gloves and jacket without a problem. It looks really slick on my bike and the red reflectors increase visibility nicely.

Got this case for the Givi Topmount system the previous owner of my bike had installed. Installed perfectly and in no time.
Installed on an 04 Ducati 1000DS MTS - looks and works great. Took this on a couple trips and had enough space easily for clothing etc. The document holder piece I dont understand how it works too well yet... but it seems like a waste of space in the case.
Case fits my HJC full face helmet, Rev It jacket and gloves when I'm cruising around town.
Revzilla customer service on this order was top notch too!

I bought this trunk to go on the back of my V-Strom and it was advertised as a two-helmet trunk.
I wear an XL and my wife wears a XS to S and I cannot get both our helmets in it without doing some serious dammage. That being said, if it is just me, I keep my laptop bag in the trunc for my morning commute and my XL Shoei in there during my workday and I'm happy with the setup.
Like ALL Givi products, once the base plate is installed (I use the V-Strom specific plate), getting the case on and off is brainless.
I went with a the matt finish and installed the luggage rack and backrest without issue.
Overall, I believe the product is worth it but is you really wants to keep two helpmet in, I would spend the extra cash ang get the 55 liter trunc. It's not that much bigger...

i have a 1980 Suzuki, and just installed a vintage cargo rack I found online. After rehabbing it, I wanted some luggage for the back. Install of the mounting plate was simple and smoothe. It fits tightly, locks well, and has good capacity. Also helps improve visibility on my bike with the red reflectors. Not a single complaint.

What GIVI Monokey case will allow me to stow my Shoei Multitec (size med) on my 2010 Yamaha FJR. Planning a multiday 3,000 mile road trip. Need top case mainly for helmet storage. And what case color best matches the Yamaha Liquid Silver color of the bike.

Thanks

Answer:
I can't speak to the color, but the V46 holds my XXL EXO900 scorpion helmet on its side, with room to spare for gloves and other misc gear (not enough to hold a jacket though). I had to experiment with a bunch of different monokey cases before I found one that would fit my helmet, as the monokey line tends to get wider and shallower as you go up in capacity. By contrast, some of the monolock cases are skinnier but taller and will accomodate a helmet standing up. They are also more affordable and smaller profile. See the recommended products for more details.

Answer:
Depends on the size. I fit an XL Shoei Qwest with a Sena Bluetooth mounted on it in my V46 and I imagine you could fit up to a single XXL Multitech. They market it as a 2 helmet case but I've only been able to fit two helmets if they are L or smaller helmets; otherwise, it's a single helmet case.

Answer:
2012 was the Year Suzuki changes things up. I know the side racks are different but you may be able to "make" it work. Take it apart and see where the holes line up and if it's close try it, if not, send it back and call Givi. They actually answer their phone and can can give you a part number if Revzilla can't.

Enjoy your strom, I love mine!

Answer:
Givi hard cases require specialized mounting hardware. For your bike, you would want to use the PL532 to attach side cases. The E528 is the correct hardware for the topcase.

Answer:
Look for a Givi bike-specific mount for your bike, SW-Motech makes a side-mount for Givi luggage and you could buy two and mount them as side-luggage. I use E45's for my side luggage which are just as big and I think they look okay.

The V46 does come with a generic mount you can try to hook up if your brave.
