Givi Monokey Trekker Pannier Set

The Givi Monokey Trekker series is a premium lineup of adventure touring luggage. Robust thermoplastic construction features anodized aluminum paneling that compliments the look of any modern touring motorcycle. A single key is used to secure the lid and unlatch the case from your motorcycle. Bike-specific Givi luggage racks sold separately.

Available in two versions, with capacities of 46 liters TRK46N and 33 liters TRK33N, the TREKKER bags are equipped with special selectors placed inside the bags, allowing you can convert each version to either to fully open the entire lid or only the uppermost smaller opening (very practical for quickly accessing items from the bag, avoiding any ill timed spilling the whole contents). Trekker cases also have the ability to be used as top cases using the Monokey adapter plate.

Looking forward to a big trip!
Still getting accustomed to the various locks and openings on these cases, they are quite stiff and hard to open. Hopefully will loosen up with use. Took the cases on a weekend trip and art workshop, everything fitted in and arrived in one piece...more travel to come before I can say more. They are quite heavy, so I will will be building up some muscles. They look great by the way! My Tiger looks the part.

Looks good, works Great
Just completed a 15 day, 4600 mile trip through the Rockies on my VStrom. These panniers easily held all my gear and kept it dry. Easy to remove from the bike which worked really well for camping or packing into a hotel room.

Look great on the bike
I installed the Trekkers on my '11 Vstrom, using the SW-Motech racks. The quality is very 'Italian', and they look great. We'll see how they hold up in the long term, but so far I'm very pleased. On problem was I forgot which bag I had setup for side open vs. top open and let go of the lid. Gravity did it's thing and I snapped one of the rubber strap-retainers that stop the lid at about 90+ degrees. There's two, and only one snapped. Guess I'll pick up some spares.

Love these cases!
I tried to go with cheaper cases, but cheaper cases just don't compare. These cases are a bit on the heavy side, but seem extremely well made. They attach rock solid and ate removed easily. Also love that they came with a third lock so my topcase would be keyed the same.

Great Cases
The cases are amazing. I chose the 33 liter cases for the sides. I've already been on a few trips, fits everything I need, I do pack only the necessary, but took all of my stuff plus my gf's stuff on both of these.
Have been on heavy rain for more than an hour, happy to say the inside absolutely dry, not even a hint of moisture.
The cases mount very easily on the tubular accesories (must buy bike specific).
Only thing I don't like is that you must have the key inserted to close the case (you open with the key, but you can't remove it until you close it again) It's not a big of a deal, but that's the only con so far.

Def. recommend.

Expensive but worth it
I had a hard time spending this kind of money on bags, but they are worth it. The first time you roll into a hotel late at night, all you have to do is pop the bags off and carry them away like suit cases. You get to watch your buddies unpack their bags and repack in the morning.

Pricey but good quality
I really like these cases but I had originally purchased the 46L side case set. I have a Kawasaki Versys and the cases looked ridiculously large, it was like a clown bike. I returned the 46L (thank you Revzilla for a painless return) and got the 33L. While obviously not as large, they are still very roomy and look really tight on the bike. The 46L would be much better as a top case (in my opinion). I also think if they made an option for top opening like the Outback Trekkers they would be an unbeatable choice for a side case.

Looks are Everything with these!!!
Bought these for my triumph tiger XRX. I will say they are very sharp on the bike. I thought the mounting of the racks was fairly straight forward. The opening of the cases in 2 different ways was an excellent idea. I'm not sure how they will do in a down pour. I wash my bike with them on at the car wash stall, and every time I'm done there is a small amount of water that gets in them. I'm not saying bucket loads, but a bit of water seems to find its way in. Probably why they sale the interior bags for them? Overall, I'm happy with them. I do think they are over priced once you include the racks. However, I didn't get into adventure riding to save money! Lol

Excellent bomb-proof boxes
I chose these boxes because of their slim profile, the slimmest from Givi besides the E22.

They're very durable and well constructed. The additional lid clasps are fantastic for improving the seal of the lid, and are one-finger manageable.

The Monokey mounting system is excellent. With over 300,000km of experience with this mounting system, at times at speeds well beyond Givi's recommendation, I've never a mount failure.

I love the GIVI case. They are weatherproof, light, good looking and easy to take off the bike. And if I change my bike model, I only have to get a new rack and I can keep my cases.

I have older Givi Monokey cases from an earlier bike that are now on the BMW 700 GS, but wanted the top loading feature of the Trekker cases, and the rectangular form is more slim than the E-360 I have now, so the bike will be a bit narrower and the style is more fitting for the GS. Also the rectangular form with square corners is a bit more efficient to pack tightly.
David N on Oct 1, 2015
GIVI bags are less expensive and more stylish than traditional panniers. They are narrow compared to the 46l bags that are over a foot wide

I chose these cases because of their looks, size, aluminium construction, ease of use (one key, top/side opening), and if I buy a new motorcycle, I can keep and use the cases, after I buy a bike specific rack.

Great cases! Using them on my Super Tenere, practical 2 way opening and very secure latches.
Tibor I on Jan 21, 2015
Givi is a good brand and the cases look a bit more stylish than the square boxy alternatives. Solid build, waterproof, and I like the monokey and the partial opening on the top. Saw them at the AIM Expo in Orlando recently and read lots of reviews on the Triumph Tiger forum. Great price and service from Revzilla as usual.

Zachary D on Jul 20, 2014
Lots of functionality at the most reasonable price out there for sidecases. A Givi Trekker system will usually come in 400USD less than a pannier system for a dual sport from any other company.
Joshua B on Apr 28, 2014
Excellent looks and a great design. Perfect sizing for my KLR650 as side cases. Went down when I was hit by a deer, slid almost 100 feet on asphalt, only scratched the plastic trim with a few small dents in the aluminum case. They saved the bike and are still fully functional.
Robert M on Dec 30, 2013

Hi guys and gals,

What mounting system do you need for these side-cases?

Thanks!
Gavin D on Apr 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: On my KLR650 I used the SW Motech Pannier Rack with the Hard Bolt Kit. Allows for 1/4 turn screws to totally remove the racks if desired. Highly recommend. In my opinion, these racks and cases prevented serious injury when I was hit by a deer last year. (prevented the crushing of my leg during a 100ft slide from 50mph)

Some melting of the case plastic bumpers(asphalt burn), but they are totally intact and functional.
Givi Monokey Trekker 33 Liter Case Set... does one key fit both locks?
A shopper on Aug 19, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Yes, if you buy as a set. you'll get six keys with same cut, as well as an extra lock to inatall in a top case if you decide to purchase later
Hello, I have a BMW F650Gs with a PL188. Would these side cases fit?. Thanks.
Rodrigo D on Apr 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, those will work. As long as the rack and the case both say "Monokey" you are good to go. They are pricey, but excellent cases.
Regarding the Givi Monokey Trekker 33 Liter Case Set. Is the lock the same for both so one key fits both cases?
A shopper on Aug 19, 2013
BEST ANSWER: In my instance, yes the locks for the cases were the same, as they were ordered as a pair. I believe that Givi cases can be "re-keyed" with matching lock cylinders, so long as the given cylinder(s) are valid for the type of case(s) that are being requested to be key matched. I hope this answer has been of some help. Good riding!
Has anyone use the 33 L trekker series on a 2014 v strom? Just wondering if I can get dimension from outside to outside of case while installed on the bike just want to know how much further it sticks out past my handlebars. Much appreciated thank you
Joseph A on Dec 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: 44 inches total. Hope that helps.

Wayne
Does the 33 liter fit a medium size helmet?
Ed C on Aug 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't believe so, I put my Shoei XL in the Givi 42 L I use for a top box. The 33L make nice side bags.
I am interested in buying a set of the Trekkers but I want one 33l and one 46l like the product description says. I don't see a way to do this on the website. Is it possible to order a set like this and can they have matching keys?
Gun Racer on Jul 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: That's a good question. I bought mine as a set (2 -33l) and they were both keyed the same.

I'm getting ready to buy a 46 so I will have to get a three lock set as I understand it so that one key will work them all.
I know you can get them keyed the same regardless what order or combo you buy, but sorry I don't know the answer to your specific question.
I would call the guys at revzilla. Best customer service anywhere and they will they able to answer your question for sure.
I have a 2014 S10 with a 52 liter top case. Will the 46 & 33 side cases work with this top case?
John A on Jun 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: What do you mean by "work". If you have a Monokey rack for side cases, the answer is YES
If you want to know if they will look good or match, I have no idea.
I have the Trekker side cases and use a much older and different looking Givi 460 ltr top case.
Mounted on an adventure bike and no one has ridiculed them.
I used them for the first camping trip last weekend and they were perfect. I like the top loadind option.
I have moved the Givi cases from bike to bike for times now. Sell the bike and racks, but kept the cases.
I got the Trekker side cases to add farkle value to my GS. I'm a real fan of Givi.
Hope this helps. Dave
I have a 2016 R1200GS Adv with factory racks. Do I need to change the factory rack mount for the GIVI PLR5108 mounts?
A shopper on Apr 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I mounted the cases with the Givi mounting hardware which I had previously used with Givi cases from an earlier bike, so I was just getting different cases.
I am looking at buying luggage for my BMW F800R. Preferably I want two TRK33Ns mounted as side cases however I was wondering if the TRK33N could fit a Shoei GT-Air size L when mounted as a side case? If not I would have to buy one TRK46N and one TRK33N, which leads to a my second question, does the Givi bike specific mounting system mount the case on the non-exhaust side closer to the bike?
A shopper on Mar 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Just trying to help, but without real facts. I have a schuberth C3 Pro, Small and it will not fit inside a trk33n. I opted to go with a trk46N top case as well for storing the helmet.

Looking at other reviews it seems the installation would be asymmetrical, meaning the exhaust side would be out a bit further.

My installation is on a KLR650, and I have that problem too. I'm using a SW Motech Quick-Lock EVO System for mounting the side cases, Givi Mount for the Top Case.

I guess a 46L on the non-exhaust side could possible equal the width on each side.??

By the way, I love my Givi Cases.
