Outstanding Topcase
Just returned from a 7 day 1700 mile trip with this topcase and it performed flawlessly. Very easy to open and close and holds a great amount of gear. Also easy to store my large Shoei Neotec large helmet. The style matches my Yamaha FJR and I was able to order the top in my bikes color from Revzilla (2014 in candy red). Mounted with the Givi 357 rack from Revzilla. Very secure. Could not be more pleased with the quality from Givi and the service from Revzilla.

Perfect option for FJR
Nice top case. I had another FJR with a E56 top case. The V47 is just right, not too big and not too small. Recommend this case over the other E56 at least for the FJR. Looks great with the new design.

Extra storage for my FJR
I recently picked up a used FJR. I found the bags on it are not sufficient to store my Aerostich Roadcrafter. I wanted some way to store it when going in somewhere and not wanting to look like a yellow Power Ranger. After consulting with the Revzilla folks, I picked up the V47 and it works perfectly. Because of the issues with the rear subframe on these bikes, I haven't put anything heavy in there, but it'll easily swallow my MacBook Pro or a helmet or a variety of other things that I've wanted to be able to lock away when I'm away from the bike.

Givi V47 on NC700x
I have 2012 Honda NC700X, have installed V47 with V35 side cases. Now my bike has a total of 117 litres of luggage. I have done some trips with my wife and very happy with these products. V47 takes two full size helmets, you don't need to carry your helmets when you get off the bike while commuting in the city. Installation is very easy and easy to put on and take off the cases. Original Honda cases needs some cutting (really cutting) for installation of racks, these don't. You just bolt on the racks.
Had a little difficulty when getting on the bike with the sidecases, but it's no deal breaker. When commuting and lane splitting you almost forgot you have 117 litres of luggage on the bike.
Definitely the best option for cases on NC700X.

Close but QC has some work to do.
Having bought the B 33 GIVI top case recently for my Bonneville , I decided I'd like a bigger one for the Explorer which also has the OEM side bags but I did not want a square box so I was looking at newer GIVI top cases and fell in like for the V 47......

It turns out this one has a few niggling issues. The lock and mount as new was almost impossible to mouth and close after install on the GIVI Monokee universal rack which you now have to purchase separately. This makes the actual cost of this bag well over 350 bucks so GIVI is rapidly pricing itself out of the bang for the buck category.

I would not mind so much but honestly their QC has slipped. My earlier model B33 opens and closes like a bank vault and has an overall feeling of precision but the new V47 is taking way too long to break in ....

I wanted to utilize the AltRider luggage rack for the V 47 and after much trouble and using TWO adapter kits ,one from GIVI and one from AltRIder I ended up combining the two to generate one system that would work and after all that work the V47 still would only work on the GIVI model specific luggage rack because of the ridges design of the bottom of the Top case was interfering with the AltRider model rack and it would not seat.

Once I gave up on the AltRider version and went back to the GIVI rack all is well and the system is working and the ALT rack will have to go back . I really liked that rack but it only fits top cases that have flat bottoms as it is too wide for the V47 designed case.

I am looking forward now to adding a flashing brake light kit to the case and the added visibility that would provide.

Room is good inside the case and it will hold two helmets long as one or both are not dual sport lids and fits my modular lid with Sena on the side ok . the 47 liter case holds a lot more than it looks like it would and i got a lot of soft luggage inside with no problem.

I bought the cheapest version of it and seeing as how GIVI in their wisdom has seen fit to eliminate the document compartment advertised on ALL of the site videos I really felt duped by GIVI (not Reveille) because the videos state that ALL monokey top cases come with document holders in the lid and when I called GIVI they informed me they haven't had those in two years. Hmmm. So change the dang videos please.

Anyway the fit of the lid and gasket has been an ongoing issue but hopefully will "wear in " more with time and work more like the B 33 and inspire confidence that the lock is indeed holding.

The rest of the story will only unfold in time as I see the durability of what seems to be a very cheapened locking mechanism over the other model I own.

AS for racks the GIVI rack has sharp edges and no tie down loops of any kind so you will need to shim the whole rack up to allow the tie downs on the existing tail piece to be used and you might wish to take care how you loop the tie downs (when top case is NOT in use) to insure you do not cut the strap webbing .

All in I am fairly satisfied with the install but really miffed that the ALT unit would not work . Also if you buy the GIVI model specific luggage rack for this box and need to remove the locking tab on the back to allow you to mount soft bags like the OEM Triumph and BMW bags which have loops on the bottom you will NOT be able to unscrew the back locking tab without drilling them out. They stripped very easily unable to remove them from their lock tight fitment. I have never had this problem with the blue lock tight but I finally drilled them out and used the screw which i bout with the AltRider adapter kit and solved the problem.

Reveille, as usual has been patient with my rack ruckus which made a two day affair out of a 20 minute install. If I was using the bead scale of difficulty this one would have made me look like Moses most likely.

Being retired and enjoying putzin with bikes , this was mildly amusing so I'm posting up this silly EPISTLE to help those like myself who read all reviews with earnestness to hopefully avoid
pitfalls such as this . No way to know that the V 47 has an unusual bottom shape that can not work on large footprint luggage racks like the AltRider model specific ones.

Happy days

Top Case Givi
Bought this case a few month ago used for a trip from Belize to Sturgis and back did with it over 11.000 KM no problem at all.
The only defect I find on it is that you can lock the box without the keys. Which means that u may lock the keys inside the case.

Looks good but causes the front end to wobble on my VFR!
This is the first piece of locking luggage I have owned. I find it's nice to be able to lock my helmet etc. in the case.
I put this on a 2000 VFR800. It looks good on the VFR and was easy to mount. I bought the VFR specific support brackets and top case mounting plate.
A couple of issues: 1) It was very difficult to get the case to latch to the mounting plate. 2) When you shut the case it automatically locks so it's easy to lock the keys in the box. 3) And the real biggie, it upsets the balance of the VFR and causes the front end to wobble. For me it happens when decelerating. I did a google search and apparently this is a common issue with the Givi top case on a VFR. Google it you'll see. I feel that since this is such a well known issue Givi and Revzilla should disclose the issue especially since it has the potential to cause an accident. If I had know about the issue I would not have bought it for my VFR.

Looks good, good quality, a tad expensive.
This top case has a lot going for it. For one, the more angular shape is much more attractive than the usual big oval blob of too many top cases and it looks much better with my Givi V35 side bags than those would have. Also, the fit and finish is very nice, and it goes on and off the rack very easily. The lid seals closed and is (presumably) very weather-tight - you can literally hear the seal release when you open it. It's big ... but it hauls a lot, and despite the size it doesn't seem to be overly affected by side winds. Like most Givi stuff it's fairly pricey ... but it is a really nice piece of work.

This thing opens with a nice resounding click also closes like a bank vault. The mounting process was easy and very stable. I easily fit my full face helmet and a whole bunch of gear. Great product.

Excellent top case
I only knocked off a point on the installation because of the horrible top rack (SR410) that I needed to use with it. Otherwise a top notched Top Case that looks awesome and holds a lot for my Connie. I can easily fit both of our Shoei RF-1200 (Lrg/Med) in the case. Too bad that their is no way to have my Kawa key fit the lock mechanism. That would be the icing on the cake.

Top cases are the way to go for convenience. Easy to load. I loved my Givi side cases but wanted something that was easy. Like a small trunk on a car. Also wanted something that would fit at least one helmet.

The previous owner dropped the Burgman 640 and cracked the plastic plates that hold the case to the mounting plate. I tried to fix it but it is still fairly loose. I wanted the same make case but just a little bigger and this one fit my needs.

Because, it's just the right size, for my two helmets. It will depend on your helmet size and brand as to whether or not you can get two helmets in your box or not.

I chose this top case because of its durability, waterproofness, and security. But also because I can store my Roadcrafter suit with no problem. It has a nice style.
Carlos A on Sep 5, 2014
In a word, style. The V47 is styled far better than most Givi top cases and also other brand top cases. The straighter lines go better with the Givi V35 side cases that I have. I always disliked the "huge oval blob" top case styles - this case looks good and holds just as much.
James Z on Sep 4, 2014

Looking at buying this tail trunk for a 2013 Ducati Multistrata 1200ST. Do I need a bracket to install it or does it fit to the existing Ducati tail rack?

BEST ANSWER: You will need a rack by givi or altrider specific to your bike if using altrider you will need the givi kit for16 dollars
Will this case fit a Small Neotec and an X-Small Neotec Shoei helmets?
Gregory V on Mar 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I put my 3xl icon variant in there with room to spare that's a dual sport like helmet with a visor. I no longer have that case or bike was t boned by a car. Was an older lady 35- 40 mph no signal just turned right in front of me. Hope that helps be safe.
Which mount would I use for a 2014 concourse 14?
Thanks
A shopper on Apr 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Give only has a small number of mount plates for specific bikes. If yours isn't one of them, you can get the 'Givi E251 Universal Monokey Top Case Adapter Plate'. You can attach that to any flat rack surface. Ideally something with an open type design to accommodate the mounting clamps the universal plate uses. This is how I got the Givi trunk box on my V-Star 650.
Is there a backrest for a passenger?
A shopper on Oct 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: There is an optional back rest available. Depending upon where it mounts your passenger may or may not feel a need for one. On my Suzuki gsf1250 Bandit and SW Motek tail rack my passenger reports it is not a problem without the backrest.
The measurements for the V47 show 23.2 L X 17.7 w X 12.6 H . . . . won't the length hang too far over the back of my 2011 KLR 650 ?

BEST ANSWER: Please make the reply section easier to use. Get rid of the pic of article up for discussion..
Givi top case is awesome. You can't have a top case of this size without sticking out some. Only about eight inches on my ST1300. Wife loves the seat back and I like the storage.
Again, get rid of the pic from reply box.
Have some issues with the Givi case. Revzilla said to go to Givi. They have piss poor customer service.

Revzilla, question your supplier!!!
Will you respond to this? Doubtful, since you have my money.
Which bracket I need for a fj09?

will this mount to a
Kymco Bet and Win 250 scooter?
A shopper on Oct 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I can't answer this question. I have mounted mine to a Triumph Tiger 800. However, I would contact GIVI USA. They are very helpful and I'm sure they would know what their products would mount to.
Where do you buy the mounting bracket kit for a Honda Silverwing ?
Wendell O on Mar 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Sorry, can't help. I have a CTX700 not a Silver Wing. In general GIVI makes the mounting brackets for all their cases, so their website is the best place to look.

I have a 2008 Kawasaki Versys. It came with the Monokey side cases. What kit do I need to get to mount the top box?
