Good solid bag once installed. Was very excited about this top case. I heard so many good remarks about Givi. Well for one the brake kit that was installed works, but the wires aren't long enough and the connection ends that go onto the battery were too small for the screws. Also I have to press down pretty hard to get the lid to shut and lock. Same goes for locking the case to the plate. Oh and the instructions were ok, but incomplete. It took maybe a total of 16 hours to install, probably more not sure because it was split up over 3 days. Hopefully now that it is installed this should be the end of this juggling act. Plus side I do like the remote that opens the case automatically. The brake lights them self are pretty bright. Admore lighting kit is very needed, running light should of came with this along with turn signals. Beats a backpack, and kinda nice to lock up all my stuff when at rest stops. Matched the paint job very closely. Bigger then I expected, will need side cases to even out the look. May 27, 2014
Style and space Installed this on a black 2014 Kawasaki Concours and it looks like it's color matched, really nice looking. Very spacious and feels solid. I got the luxury model and the FOB is nice, the lights are great but not real bright. My only criticism is the latch is hard to close, my wife couldn't close it at first but after we figured the best way to close it she could. If you position your hands on the back with your fingers on the lid and your thumbs on the bottom and squeeze it shut that seems to work the best. Overall very happy. March 17, 2014
As advertised Great product. I was afraid it would look too big on my street triple but it doesn't. Feel safe leaving my helmets and going into a store. Instructions could definitely be better and some of the factory install on the light kit had to get redone. Exact what I was looking for . December 9, 2013
Great Quality and Size, but instructions are awful The case is great. Excellent quality. The luxury model comes with a remote opener and pre-installed brake lights. The brake light is just ok, in bright light its not too visible. However the fact that its pre-installed in the box is a benefit. The remote works great and the size will hold 2 full face helmets. No liner is included. I do not even notice it on the bike when its empty. Excellent product. The main complaint on the case is the instructions, they are absolutely awful. However, GIVI USA did provide decent customer support. September 12, 2013
Nice top case I recently purchased a 2012 Concours and bought a 39 L top case and mount and discovered it to be small for my intended touring needs. I bought the Givi 55L top case and I think that I will have enough room with the standard saddlebags on the motor. I like the brake lights and padded interior already installed (I bought the LUXB model). The brake lights seem bright enough but would like to be able to have the Admore light kit for this top case. I believe the Admore lights have running lights on all the time and amber turn signal lights as well as a brake modulator to flash the brake lights when the brakes are applied. It would be nice if Givi would make an Admore light option available or at least have running lights built in. The case feels sturdy enough and seems to lock onto the mounting plate securely. Ótimo produto Um produto de 1º qualidade muito útil e pratico. Ainda não instalei mais o produto é bem acabado, bonito e resistente. April 29, 2013
Worth every penny and not as huge as I feared. So I wanted something lockable, stable at speed, and large enough to keep two helmets when touring. The ability to hold a decent size backpack would have been a plus. Started looking around and found the givi maxia line and a couple others like the shad, the coocase and the trax cases. I have to admit, the price point for the coocase was attractive, but the cases just don't seem as well put together and the givi name is synonymous with durability. Plus with price matching i was able to narrow the gap a little. Installing was a little tricky but that was the fault of my bike having under seat exhaust (fz6) not the givi stuff. Once I got that sorted everything from frame extension to installing the lights in the case was smooth as silk. One little tip in this regard, when installing the light connector on the base plate remember to check that the orientation is correct before doing the full install. Otherwise you may wonder if you did the wiring right only realize you need to rotate the connector 180 degrees. As for the product, I LOVE this case. I was worried it would be huge as it seemed that way in pictures, but it actually looks great on the bike, and I dont find it affects the bikes handling at all. (I am quite large though as well) Having the extra brake lights is also quite nice as it does obscure the taillight a little, not enough to make it not visible, but when was extra brake lighting a bad thing. I have been able to get a lot of stuff in this thing, including my neotec with sena attached and my leather jacket at the SAME time when stopping for lunch. Grocery shopping including a medium pizza and a birthday cake have found their way home in my maxia. People complain about the top needing a little extra effort when closing, in that it needs a two hand approach, but I don't really mind. It takes about an extra 0.5 seconds to close. I really like that it comes with three keys, two rubberized and a spare all metal key. (Already misplaced the original, so using one of the spares. When the case isn't on the bike the top rack is fairly unobtrusive, though to be completely honest, I haven't taken the case off, it is too practical. Thank you to the revzilla staff for helping in the decision to "go big or go home" as I don't think I would have been happy with anything smaller. And really as far as the dimensions are concerned it is so barely bigger than the v46 I can't imagine not wanting the additional storage. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!! May 21, 2013
Best Topcase Money Can Buy... and it's a lot of money! I wanted something to use on my commute - the space under my scooter's seat is decent, but not enough to hold my briefcase, if it starts raining. Also, I wanted the ability to hold two helmets, and I like the idea of having high-mounted brake lights. There is just so much about the E55 that appealed to me, I figured it was worth it to shell out the big bucks and get the best product possible. I got the brake-light kit and the remote opener, too - I also got the inner liner and the glossy-black replacement skin to go over the stock black plastic. (I was really treating myself here...) Once I got the bike-specific mounting plate, the price stood at $704 - not exactly a bargain. On top of that, splicing the brake-light kit into the electrical system was beyond my ability - I opened up the bike, and there were wires snaking EVERYWHERE. The lousy drawing which came with the case offered me no idea how to proceed. So I brought it to my local shop, and even the mechanic needed some time to study the electrical diagram he found for my bike online, before he went in and performed surgery. The operation was a success - the lights work great (especially at night, and they are brake lights only, not signals) - and the bill for the wiring job was $120. So is the E55 top case worth the grand total of $824, when all the associated costs are counted? For me, it is. It looks the business, it really does hold two XL-sized full-face helmets, the remote opener has worked perfectly so far and adds such a level of convenience - I am extremely pleased with the case. Do I have any reservations? Yep. The red-plastic document holder has to be removed to put in the foam liner, and in so doing, one of the plastic buses that hold the screws just disintegrated in my hand. You definitely shouldn't unscrew anything more often than is absolutely necessary on this case. Having only one working screw (instead of two) has rendered the document holder unusable. That's a bummer. Also, it is surprisingly difficult to close the lid all the way until it snaps shut, unless you are standing behind and above your bike, which position gives you added leverage. Where I park in my apartment building, there is a wall right behind the bike, and it is not easy to get my arm in there at the right angle to put the force necessary on the lid to close it all the way. That really ought to be easier. (I go to the gym and am in reasonably good shape, and shutting the lid on this case has stressed the muscle at my sternum. That was really surprising!) Overall, I think it's a marvelous case. The size is perfect for me, the features are worth the price, and the downsides of the design are relatively small. I recommend it, though not if you lack physical strength or if you are especially short and would have trouble getting leverage on the lid. If you spring for the E55, get the model which comes with the remote opener and the lights. Those features really elevate this above being just a plastic box. March 25, 2013

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Eric G: I needed somthing to store my two helmets. I thought that it would look too big on my 2012 Street Triple but it looks fine. Works perfect but the instructions were terrible. The lighting kit is great but the unit I had was not installed correctly from the factory so I had to reinstall it for the system to work. I am extremly happy with my purchase. Jul 14, 2014
Phillip H asked: Is the brake light kit pre-installed in the case? Aug 18, 2013

VP1102092 Murphy L: Hi Philip,

The brake light kit is already pre-installed into the box and as well as the remote for unlocking the box without any key.

The brake light function as a stop light when you brake. For added visibility, you may want to modded the brake light kit integrated with signal light.

I have change mine as well and my bikers friends say it nice and special.

you can refer to admorelighting.

Vance K: this will be the third givi i have owned....the first one i had to take apart and install the lights..i had to route the wires and i had to wire in the switfches the second one came with the kit installed because i chose to have it installed..by the guys at the factory....and i also bought the switches...unless you are handy with all that i highly suggest you allow the factory to install the electrical.... vance Aug 20, 2013

Michael W: The kit is installed (LED's), but you have to wire it into your bike with the supplied harness and connectors. The wire runs from a hole you pop out in the mounting hardware that has contacts with the bottom of the case, and into the bike to the wires that work the tail light. Aug 19, 2013

Shawn M: Yes it is, I changed mine out for the Admore kit. The Givi lights are dim and not impressive, not worth getting. Order the E55 then go with the Admore light, you will be happy. Aug 19, 2013

George P asked: Hello

Do you know if the smoke reflectors and the side/back bands from this case will fit the "normal" E55 model (with the red ones) or not?

Thanks in advance
