Great looking top box. I bought the gloss black and love it. I also added the LED lighting kit from AdMore Lighting which I highly recommend. My only complaint is that the gloss black scratches easily and I don't understand why GIVI didn't use hinges so the lid stays up! You always have to have one hand holding the lid up. I have a big Shark Evoline 2 modular helmet and it fits. I love Revzilla. March 8, 2013
Big case, fiddly lock Dithered back and forth between the Givi V46 and E52 before finally deciding on the E52. According to the specs it wasn't that much larger than the V46 and the fact that the lock/handle didn't intrude into the interior of the case made it seem like you might end up with more usable storage. When it arrived: wow! This thing appears HUGE the first time you pull it out of the box! Mounted on the bike, along with a pair of E360 side cases, it doesn't look so intimidating. The lock on the E52 seems a bit fiddly and more likely to break than the locks on some of Givi's older luggage (ex: E360). Re-keying the E52 so that side cases and top box all use the same key was a bit painful due to the complexity of the locking mechanism. Wish the top was hinged, so that it didn't have a tendency to fall closed all the time. Those nits aside, this is a great top case. Easily swallows two full-face helmets with a bit of room to spare. Case seems durable and, so far, water-proof. Lots of useful options available! Internal elastic straps keep large loads in place, though smaller loads and still shift around quite easily. Pop-out handle makes the case easy to carry, even when heavily loaded. September 3, 2012
This is a great bag! I just completed a trip on my BMW R1150RT logging nearly 4,000 miles through the Atlantic Provinces of Canada. The bag was packed with camera equipment, and other heavy items. The bag and I saw several days of torrential rains at highways speeds. Nothing at all in the bag got wet or damaged by the rains. In addition, although it is a large bag the bag did not make the bike seem top heavy or unwieldy. The only negative was one of the silver plastic trim pieces was twisted away from the shell, likely by a passersby jacket. Givi replaced the trim piece without question. I have now epoxied these pieces to the main shell to prevent that from happening again. EXCELLENT BAG! October 19, 2011
Givi E52 Maxia Monokey Topcase I love my new Givi Case. All hardware mounting brackets were very easy to install. Case mounts on perfectly and enables me to carry everything that I need on a long weekend or an extended ride. Best thing after a long ride is that the handle pops out and it can be carried like a suit case. Cannot wait unitl next year when I get the side mounted hard bags. Then I will have turned my Yamaha FZ1 into an awesome sport touring bike. Revilla had all parts shipped to me in very little time at all. Definetely will do business with them again in the future. MonoTop case and or any other type rear boxes/top case(s) that would fit the brackets on the BMW's. I have a BMW box but I don't care for it.

You will need the E193 Topcase Rack in order to mount this case to your R1200RT. It is listed as only fitting an '05-'10 but have confirmed with Givi that it will fit the 2011 model.

I own a BMW R1150RT, and have the E52 case on the back, replacing the original BMW topcase. First and foremost, you have to purchase the GIVI bracket and mount. The GIVI cases do not fit into the BMW bracket. Removing the original BMW mount and replacing it with the GIVI mount is very easy. Plus, the GIVI mount uses much of the BMW original bracket attachments with only the horizontal section being replaced. Once converted to the GIVI mount the Givi Top Case easily mounts in place. I have no regrets replacing the original BMW topcase with the GIVI system. If I ever wanted to switch back, like if I sell the bike, it would be an easy conversion back to the BMW mount. Most importantly, I find the Givi E52 a major upgrade to the BMW case, no comparison.
