i was scanning a variety of helmets and had narrowed it down to either a Bell or a Scorpion. i watched the video reviews on revzilla, which were very helpful! the Bell Vortex was at a great value and is snell 2010 approved, as safety played an important role in my decision making. i received the helmet was quick to ship and i received it shortly after ordering. it fits very snug, it's comfortable, and my field of vision is pretty good, and the inside padding removes easily for cleaning. the build quality of the shell and inner padding is excellent, and it's pretty snazzy looking! i really like this helmet. :-)
Yes, I recommend this product.

I am very happy with this helmet. The internal shape is definitely slanted more towards being oval. The interior removes easily and is decently comfortable, sadly it is not as comfortable as an RS-1 or Star, both of which are on a level I've never seen in another helmet. Cut outs for helmet speakers are a nice addition, also my glasses seem to fit rather well, although it is quite snug to get them in. Fit and finish is great, although on the Flying Tiger model, it has a matte finish so is rather thin. The airflow is great, a brow vent really does make a huge difference. Finally, the shield mechanism is 2nd to none. I highly recommend over others in this price range.

I agree with the sizing issue from some of the reviews. I have a scorpion exo-700 in medium which fits well. I had to exchange the medium vortex for a small. Also wear glasses and the vortex is a tight fit. The helmet quality overall is very good.

The Vortex helmets is one of the nicest helmets I have seen. Considering the price it really can't be beat. It is very comfortable, great liner and great vents. The only problem I had with it is the helmet is a bit narrow and I could not wear my glasses with the helmet at all. Also with all the vents open it can be a bit loud. Overall the helmet is great though

I am soo impressed with the quality and improvements in recent years. I purchased a Bell K1 sport 5 years ago and was very disappointed. The Vortex is 5 times the helmet for 1/3 the money. The fit and finish are great....Very pleased!!!

It's true and sounds weird but I'd ratherbuy something else. Snell 2010 rated, great style and features, average weight and mostly affordable but man, it is killer loud! My pet peeve is howling wind going at 40mph, really? They recommend ear plugs, but I say no! I like to use bluetooth and not scream or ask huh? Bell is a great helmet company hands down, if they solve the Tyson vaccum cleaner issue, they have me for life. In the meanwhile , I'll spend more for my Shoei.

Accurate sizing (XL) and comfortable "neutral" internal face shape, but shell is very large and round, nearing bulky feeling when worn. Plastic construction exhibits lots of creaks and flex in use. Internal padding is sufficient, but average quality at best. Face shield moves far too easily and doesn’t lock closed or even feel secure when in the down position (wouldn’t dare use this helmet at the track!) Also, mine has a visible distortion in the face shield at eye level and the Anti-Fog coating started flaking off the very first time I took it for a ride (in sunny 70-degree weather)! Lastly, the Vortex should come with gold plated ear plugs! Even for street riding to the store and back, this helmet is over-the-top noisy and requires ear protection! Steady 50 mph riding is terribly loud, but 70+ is downright unbearable. I have NEVER had a helmet this loud in 15 years of sportbiking! You would think the full neck roll and chin skirt would make this a quiet helment, as this is where many helmets produce a lot of noise, but they have little affect and the large openings in the ear padding (intended by Bell for adding speakers/headphones) only helps to focus all that noise where it counts...your ear drums! Bell may call the Vortex the Star model's "little brother", but all I see is a BIG disappointment. NOT recommended!
