Comfort and style A classic look and it feels great to wear after breaking it in. Mine is a just a tad to large on me, when on the highway the wind will lift up my helmet when looking to the side. Otherwise it fits great and I get enough air coming into the helmet. August 14, 2015
Great buy for the money. After getting my first bike, I wanted something great for good value, and this helmet delivers. Fit is great and graphics are just as cool and catches people's eye (hard to miss). Airflow is awesome, living on the gulf coast it's pretty regular to have 100+ degree days; with this helmet your head doesn't get hot.. great price and great helmet.. August 31, 2015
Great Helmet Love this helmet just wish you could put a nose cone in it for colder mornings to help prevent fogging August 31, 2015
Looks cool, but it's too loud I love the look of this helmet, and it's comfortable enough, but I'm thinking of wearing ear plugs when I ride. The wind noise is really uncomfortable. I don't want to have to buy another helmet, but I might. August 27, 2015
Great helmet for the price New rider and wanted a FF Dont know if I'll enjoy riding so didnt want to break the bank, but still wanted safety Have ridden 500 miles, and I love this helmet Great fit, I am a medium in hats, about 7 3/8, and this fit perfectly, has great vision too opted for the transition lens too and it was a great purchase as well slight heavier than the more expensive helmets ive tested. I just put on VH twin slash on my iron and the exhaust is loud. The helmet masks the sound, but not by much I would 100% recommend this to anyone as long as it fits your noggin And the RSD design is awesome! August 26, 2015
Awesome, but could be even better! The helmet is really great in every way except one - no easy way to route the speaker wires. The neck pad is non-removable and you can only bring the headset wires to the front to get them out of the helmet. My speakers didn't come with long enough cables so I had to make a small hole in the neck pad. Still don't know why to make space for speakers with no easy way to bring the wires out. Design is great, air flow is good, could be better, could be worse. Noise level - the same. Protection rocks. It's not only DOT approved, it's also SNELL rated, which means this helmet is good enough for a race track. Another problem is that it comes with clear visor. Could be a little tinted so you could ride on a sunny day towards the sun. Now with the clear visor it's a bit hard. I do know that they have a selection of visors including the chameleon one, but that costs extra $$. Would be great if default one was tinted. August 24, 2015
Recognizable name brand I bought the Bell helmet because I recognized the name from helmets I have had in the past. Love the look. Smooshes my jaw a little but I would rather have it fitted than loose, no impediment to vision. Added the dark smoke visor so that I don't have to fiddle with sunglasses. August 24, 2015
3 great reasons for this helmet 1st- who doesn't love the flying tigers from WW2 2nd- great review from revzilla influenced my buying decision, good features = great value for the money spent. 3rd- prehaps the greatest upgrade available is that you can purchase the transitions photo chromatic shield that darkens in sunlight and lightens when not in sunlight. This Helmet does double duty for me as a motorcycle helmet, and a motorsports helmet. Evey one comments on the excellent graphics on the helmet. If you want to have a helmet that is not like all the others this may be the helmet for you. August 17, 2015

Jack W: Great looking helmet with tons of features normally found on much more expensive helmets. I use this helmet to race flat track and it works great and meets all of the safety requirements. Aug 13, 2015
Otis M: I wanted a DOT & Snell certified helmet. I've been familiar with the Bell name for years and as such has a trusted manufacturer feel. I really like the rally style of the helmet and reviews were favorable. Jun 28, 2015
kaleb p: it has very good reveiws Jun 14, 2015
Jason T: Great value on a Snell certified high quality brand-name helmet. Track-day pro's at my local track are big fans of Bell helmets. Jun 5, 2015
Christopher W: friend said vortex is a good helmet to start with. May 19, 2015
Kyle H: Tried on several brands of helmets at a local store and this fit and felt the best and fit into my beginner budget. May 17, 2015
Jeffrey P: good price, looks awesome. I watched the review here on revzilla.com and it was nice to know all the features of the helmet before I bought it. May 9, 2015
Kirk W: Love the way it looks. Good price. And most important SNELL Approved. May 7, 2015
Brian C: It seems to have higher end features for the price, and I love the "rally" design. Apr 7, 2015
Allen E: Seems like a good deal for the price. Lots of features that you see on much more expensive helmets. Great looks! Apr 1, 2015
Cole C: I love this helmet. I am getting another because someone stole my matte black one! Mar 31, 2015
E D: I have a Moto Guzzi V7 Stone (cafe-styled bike), so the matte with the classic white stripe looks cool for that. Feb 7, 2015

Peter Jay J: Good look and good protection at a great price Nov 29, 2014

Ian T: Safety plus look. Price under $200 Oct 20, 2014
Brandon G: I started looking at the Bell Qualifier helmets however after reading reviews I decided to step up to the Vortex for the fact it had slightly better reviews on venting and it was also Snell and DOT rated. Oct 16, 2014
Charles C: videos at revzilla Oct 3, 2014
Nya R: Required for NHRA sanctioned drag racing Sep 26, 2014
Kenyotta W: I liked the look, I liked the reviews, and I liked the price. This is my first helmet purchase. Sep 16, 2014
Mark B: No one else had this helmet it locally. Much appreciated, color and shape was wife approved! Sep 11, 2014
Kevin w: I love the classic look, quality behind the brand, and many ventilation options. Like others have said its a little loud on the highway but for the price point I believe its the best you can get. Go ahead and grab a 600$ helmet if you can afford it and you will get less volume at high speeds but if you don't have the funds you will still enjoy the vortex :) Sep 8, 2014
Christian A: Love the look and had great reviews. My wife says it's comfortable and quit. The ventilation is good too. Sep 2, 2014
Brandon G: I was going to buy a SHOEI GT air but for the money this is a perfect helmet. I couldnt justify the money for the SHOEI for the amount of time i ride. Aug 20, 2014
Michael L: awesome looks, good price Aug 19, 2014
Grayson W: Classic slick look. Great bang for your buck even though tis a little noisy. Good first helmet Aug 18, 2014
Lori M: Read the standards and safety good price for a safe comfortable helmet Jul 21, 2014
Anthony B: Needed a good everyday commuter helmet. Chose the vortex Rally for its classic styling, great price, and because it has everything I need and nothing I don't. Will wear the RS-1 for more spirited jaunts but for headed to work I think the Vortex will be ideal. Jul 10, 2014
Mark W: Just received this today. Love the fit and the look. My bike is shipping next week so I can't say much else about it yet. Revzilla is awesome though. Jun 27, 2014
Andrew M: Loved the styling and trusted bells safety Jun 19, 2014
Regan D: Needed a helmet for my upcoming MSF course & first motorcycle purchase. The Shoei GT AIR & RF1200 fit me perfectly but were a bit pricey for my first helmet. Even tho I haven't tried on the Vortex yet, from what I've read, it'll probably fit my intermediate oval head. So i thought it was worth the gamble. Plus I can always return it to Revzilla & trade up for the Shoei if it doesn't fit. But I hope it does cause I love the classic looks, and price. Not expensive, but not cheap either. Jun 2, 2014
Michael P: Timeless May 27, 2014
Jonathan E: Snell Rated for the price
Video segments decribing intermediate head shape helped me pick this helmet over the HLC FG-17 which was described as round face shape. Thanks Revzilla for those!
May 23, 2014
Joshua F: Needed a street helmet for commuting purposes and needed something not too pricey and with good ventilation since I live in a warm weather environment. The rally graphic seemed to be a good choice style wise. Snell certification was a plus as well. May 20, 2014
Ryan S: Snell 2010 rating is an absolute must have, correct size/fit type and awesomely classic style. Fantastic! Apr 17, 2014
Daniel B: 1. SNELL
2. I live between two very dangerous routes
3. It looks cool

Thomas W: Yup. Clear shield, mine had the button strap (not magnetic). Awesome product, highly recommend. Some users say the Vortex is loud, I think it's fine, but since it's my first lid I don't have anything to compare it to. Apr 12, 2014

Dominick c: Depends on how you like your helmets to fit. I prefer mine on the snug side, so if i were you i'd go with a medium. Aug 13, 2014

Sean V: I'd buy the large. Might be snug, but you want a snug fit. Aug 13, 2014

Daniel B: Hey bro, gimme a chance to get home and get my measuring tape out and double check which size I purchased. In the meantime, I can give for some other more esoteric info regarding this helmet.

The first thing is that I love it on several different levels.
I wanted a real helmet that would actually protect my second most valuable asset and fit the image my bike and jacket suggest. Check and check.

Another factor was the shape of my head coupled with the fact that I wear a ginormous pair of Maui Jim - 9 Palms glasses with prescription lens. So the helmet needs to be snug, but I also near to slide these glasses on once the helmet is on. Check and check.

The helmet fits the shape of my head (oval). This is important as my wife is Japanese. Her freakin' head is a totally different shape (round) from what I perceived as normal. Until I learned how many Asians actually make up the total global market. Now, I can't image how she can see the shape of my head as anything other then Geiger's Alien.

The sizing videos on Revzilla are great at describing this phenomenon. My head so closely matched the Oval head model's that I knew this helmet would fit fine. Because of Revzilla's return policy, I considered purchasing two different sizes and returning the one that didn't fit. But the sizing tutorials gave me the confident to take a leap of faith and just order the one. Bingo!

fernando l: The holes or cutaways for the ears are pretty generous all helment designed bluetooth speakers should acomodate most sena's clamp from the side of the helmet and there is enough space besides the interior is removable so putting speakers is just a matter of reading manufactures instructions and a little ingenuity. I installed some sena H10 in less than 20 minutes battery life is okey and the sound is not super high def but solid hope i helped May 29, 2014

Joshua F: There are MANY options to choose from. I personally use a scala q3 on mine and it works great. The helmet does have a non removable collar around the bottom opening that leaves an unavoidable bit of wire exposed for the speakers but it doesn't get in the way. Other than that the setup looks great. This helmet also features ear hole cutouts under the pads making speaker placement much easier. May 29, 2014

Dominick c: I'd choose this, it has SNELL certification, and the design is much newer. you can't really go wrong with either one, but for safety's sake i'd go the one that i certified to be safer. Aug 13, 2014
