Fantastic!
This is the first helmet that I have purchased new. I am a new rider with dirt bike experience from my younger days so I can't really compare it to previous helmets. It was a toss-up between this and the Icon Airmada. I mean that literally. I flipped a coin.

I ordered this helmet on a Sunday evening, and had it on my doorstep on Tuesday with free shipping. Revzilla hit it out of the park on that one.

The Rally graphic looks absolutely killer in person. Super clean and simple but the helmet just looks fast and aggressive.

The fit on the helmet is snug, and I may have to swap out the cheek pads if they don't break in and settle down. As they are now they put quite a bit of pressure on my cheekbones. I may pull them and put them under some weight plates and see if that helps. I have a 23" intermediate oval head and it does not give any other hot spots. The neck roll seals the helmet well.

Vents well, and is a tad noisy as others have said, but that's the price you pay for airflow (a must-have in Arizona). Wear earplugs or plug the holes behind the ears. Vent controls are easy to find/operate.

Visor change: Holy cow Bell made it easy. I'd never touched this helmet before and removed/replaced it in 15 seconds.

Mine did not come with the magnetic strap keeper, but I'm fine with that.

Overall, on a scale of One to Sweden, I gave this helmet a Purple rating.

Definitely would recommend it for those looking for a Snell rated helmet, bang for the buck factor is phenomenal.

Amazing style, features, and turns head everywhere!
First of all, the helmet is absolutely beautiful in a very simplictic way for those of us who aren't into much design on a helmet.
The features are what really make this helmet a fantastic choice though. There is basically zero wind noise because of the design around the neck and chin. The chin vent, brow vent, and the vents on the top of the helmet all close very easily (even when riding) if it was to get a little cold. And it cuts through the wind better than any helmet I have ever owned
For the price, it is a slam dunk

Awesome helmet...just not compatible with me noggin.
I'm totally bummed! I sooo wanted this helmet to fit me. It looks absolutely killer, and the features for the price were compelling indeed. None of the local retailers here in NYC carry Bell helmets for some reason, so I ordered it from Revzilla and it arrived in 2 days! I rushed home from work and excitedly tried it on. Only to be crushed. Literally. I knew immediately it wasn't a match for me. My head measures 23" around so based on their size chart, I got the large. But it wasn't the size. The helmet itself felt fine around the top of my head. It was my chin. It stuck out the bottom below the chin curtain and when I forced my chin over the curtain, it was dangerously close to the front of the helmet. So much so that if I lightly pressed the face, it forceably hit my chin bone. I can only imagine what would happen if I face planted at highway speed.

The only helmets at the local shops that fit me were the Shoei RF1200 and Shoei GT AIR. Of course the most expensive. Ha!

But I'm glad I took the chance of ordering the Bell Vortex. It was worth the gamble. This is one sweet looking helmet. And if it wasn't for my freakishly large chin, I'd have kept it for sure & given it 5 stars.

I wouldn't say if your chin is large don't get it. It could just be my face/head shape. Who knows. All I know is it didn't fit me like the Shoeis.

I boxed it up and will return it to Revzilla. So far their system is pretty painless for returns. Once it goes thru, I will most likely order either the RF1200 or GT Air from Revzilla.

I'm taking my MSF course later this month so time is of the essence. I also ordered the tourmaster air intake 3 jacket from Revzilla. Once that arrives, I'll review it too.

Cheers,

R. Darcy

Quite possibly the best bang for your buck
I needed a new helmet, and while I was looking for a helmet, it had to meet a few requirements: 1) Full Face 2) DOT and SNELL rated 3) Vents for airflow 4) Tinted visors available 5) $200 or under in price 6) Had to look awesome

And man did this helmet hit those marks. Visually, the helmet is stunning, its a beautiful matte black with a matte white stripe going down the middle, front to back. I get compliments on it everywhere I go.

Considering that this is a SNELL rated helmet, you couldnt ask for a fairer price, most SNELL rated helmets are well above 200 dollars, but this one did it for under 200.

It has a visor quick release system, which works great, I bought the dark silver iridium visor, and I switch it out almost daily for the clear one, depending on the light conditions outside. The vents work great, but in order for them to work at their best, a tucked in position or 3/4 position is recommended. The visors come with an anti-fog coating, which although I havent really gotten to test yet due to the warm weather, when I breathe onto it, it doesnt fog up in the slightest, so Im sure itll work fine when the cold weather starts coming in.

The helmet is comfortable, the padding is quite soft, and it doesnt weigh that much, which is great on long rides.

Now, in terms of quality, sure its not going to be on par with that of the 500+ Arai helmets, but the value in this helmet is worth so much more then the price, I really cant complain about anything. It most definitely does not have a cheap feel to it, it feels well built and will definitely last me a good long time.

Seems like a great helmet for the price which is why I bought it. I get a lot of compliments on the style. Visor snaps on and off super easily which is nice for cleaning or replacement.

Mine pinches in the cheeks just a bit but not in an overly uncomfortable way and I have somewhat meaty cheeks.

I'd definitely get another one.

Amazing features and design. But loud.
My head measures 22 1/4 ordered the M and had great fit. Helmet is very stylish and airflos is nice. Only problem i the noise at hwy speeds. Unbearable without earplugs. This is my first helmet so that could be normal at those speeds. Cuts the air great feels very stable at speed but so loud. I would definately reccomend the helmet but wear earplugs! Revzilla is amazing. All my future business will be done with them no doubt. Above the bar service.

Great looking helmet
After wearing this helmet for the past month i can say i like. its not the best one iv had but it is the best looking one. i get a lot of compliments on how it looks. the only thing i didnt like about the helmet was the noise level, its really loud compared to other helmets iv owned. i guess you can say i have mixed feeling about this helmet but overall i like it. just dont forget to wear earplugs and you will be fine with this helmet.

Solid but BIG
Great helment the paint job is amazing and flawless it looks mean, the matte black tends to pick up fingerprint but all non glossy helmets do. The shield is perfect will it fog? a little but everything fogs under the right circumstances just open it a little and the vents. The vents snap solid except for the chin one feels flimsy but that might change on all other helmets I bought it for the vents more than the snell certification and they work amazingly. Is it loud and stable? a little loud really stable at speed. The only bad thing about it is the size mine is a medium but the shell size looks like a xl i am skinny and with the helmet on i look kindda funny my last helmet was stolen and i didnt want something of that price with me all the time so i bought this one it is just that the other one on the same size was about an inch 1/2 smaller all around. I might just be a victim of a medium size being between sizes for big and small shell or it might be that certification with polycarbonate needs to be bigger but if you have a bigger frame than me you will provably adore the helmet I am overall really happy with mine style off the charts fits like custom just big overall hope i helped. also i ride it on a harley but i took my friends red ducati for a ride with it and it look like it was ment for it also the white stripe is very visible so a little safer

this helmet must be the biggest waste of money. This helmet offers no noise reduction. Even with earplugs, the noise produced by this helmet is unbearable.

do not get this helmet, you will only waste your money and lose your hearing.

I love the classic look, quality behind the brand, and many ventilation options. Like others have said its a little loud on the highway but for the price point I believe its the best you can get. Go ahead and grab a 600$ helmet if you can afford it and you will get less volume at high speeds but if you don't have the funds you will still enjoy the vortex :)

Needed a helmet for my upcoming MSF course & first motorcycle purchase. The Shoei GT AIR & RF1200 fit me perfectly but were a bit pricey for my first helmet. Even tho I haven't tried on the Vortex yet, from what I've read, it'll probably fit my intermediate oval head. So i thought it was worth the gamble. Plus I can always return it to Revzilla & trade up for the Shoei if it doesn't fit. But I hope it does cause I love the classic looks, and price. Not expensive, but not cheap either.

my head measures 23.5 inches. what size should i get?
A shopper on Aug 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Depends on how you like your helmets to fit. I prefer mine on the snug side, so if i were you i'd go with a medium.
Does this helmet meet Australian standards?
Mark c on Aug 29, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It is Snell rated. The toughest tests as far as I know.
Does it come with a clear shield only?
A shopper on Apr 12, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yup. Clear shield, mine had the button strap (not magnetic). Awesome product, highly recommend. Some users say the Vortex is loud, I think it's fine, but since it's my first lid I don't have anything to compare it to.
Is it ece approved?
A shopper on Feb 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Vortexes are Snell approved, which is a higher certification than ECE. I have a Vortex and a Qualifier DLX (which has the awesome shield) and although the Qualifier DLX is a little more expensive the shield is totally worth it. Qualifier is only ECE (not SNELL) but if I were going out on the track, I wouldn't use the Vortex anyway... I'd get a Star Carbon.

BEST ANSWER: The holes or cutaways for the ears are pretty generous all helment designed bluetooth speakers should acomodate most sena's clamp from the side of the helmet and there is enough space besides the interior is removable so putting speakers is just a matter of reading manufactures instructions and a little ingenuity. I installed some sena H10 in less than 20 minutes battery life is okey and the sound is not super high def but solid hope i helped
I'm just getting into motorcycles do you think this is a good starter helmet?
Brenden E on Oct 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I've had this helmet for a year or so now, and I really like it. It's comfortable, even on very hot days here in NC. The vents work well to create airflow. The visor opens a crack to let in air. And I have not had trouble with fogging.

The only downsides I have discovered are that (1) the helmet is very large, which sometimes makes me feel like a bobblehead, and (2) the helmet is not particularly aerodynamic. At highway speeds over 70 mph, the airflow yanks my head up and around quite a bit, and it's difficult to turn my head. Leaning into a tucked position doesn't seem to matter.

Good call on the full face helmet. Protect your melon.
1. Do you sell the magnet for the chin strap?

2. Between this helmet and the AGV K3, which you consider is a better helmet?
Mario R on Aug 7, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I'd choose this, it has SNELL certification, and the design is much newer. you can't really go wrong with either one, but for safety's sake i'd go the one that i certified to be safer.
