Bell Vortex Band Helmet

The Bell Vortex is every bit the helmet you’d expect of the Star’s little brother. Developed in Bell’s state-of-the-art Santa Cruz, Calif. design center, the Vortex borrows heavily from the Star, using its Velocity Flow Ventilation with FlowAdjust for amazing ventilation and temperature control, as well as ClickRelease— the reigning world champ in shield ease-of-use. The lightweight polycarbonate shell is molded into a stable, wind cutting shape, and comfort is in no short supply with contoured cheek pads and a plush removable comfort liner. Finish it off with a noise reducing wind collar and integrated speaker pockets and you have a complete package at a killer price.

  • Velocity Flow Ventilation system with FlowAdjust for maximum stability and temperature control with minimal noise and buffeting
  • Lightweight composite polycarbonate alloy shell
  • Contour cheek pads (by means of stacked foam, not hand cut)
  • Removable and washable interior for maximum comfort
  • Padded Wind Collar to drastically reduce wind/road noise
  • Integrated speaker pockets for audio speakers
  • ClickRelease for the fastest, easiest, tool-free shield swaps ever
  • NutraFog II superior anti-fog, anti-scratch and UV protected shield
  • Five year warranty
  • Snell M2010 and DOT Certified

Note: Helmet shown with optional tinted shield. Clear shield included.

Note: Helmet may come with either the magnetic strap keeper or standard chin strap snaps

Good, but not great. I chose this helmet because it looks better than other SNELL rated helmets I was seeing. My last helmet was a Scorpion Exo and quite honestly I think it was a better helmet for less money. The visor movement and vents seem a little clunky on the Bell and the overall fit/finish just seemed a little nicer on the Exo. If you want to look awesome, go with this helmet. If you want something simpler with smoother build quality, I recommend the Scorpion helmets (in my limited experience). October 6, 2014
Good price on a mid level helmet form a high end company. Needed a full face. Went for the known com0nay name Bell. Very good and safe helmet. Nice style on the paint scheme. September 22, 2014
Excellent Value, Quality Build, Fits Superbly. Helmet buying is tricky. I spent many nights searching and searching, reading reviews, watching video reviews... endlessly. Sometimes you just have to pull the trigger and go with a gut feeling. Initially, i was looking at much cheaper helmets. And then was quickly persuaded to spend a little more on something a bit more quality. And i figured, if i was spending a little more, why not get a color scheme i like. The Vortex Band (white), was my personal choice (i like the similar colors to the martini racing team). Fit. You will have to go to a store and try some helmets on. Or risk it by buying what you think might be your size. Your choice. Some might find the bell mold to feel great! Others not so much. Personally the fit is great. Snug. Just enough to make talking a little annoying. Which is preferable because id rather it be a little snug than loose. Venting is decently good. Provides enough airflow so that my head is not sweating. And ive been riding multiple times recently on those 90+ plus days. No complaints otherwise. Noise is a little loud. I'm borderline on using ear plugs to held reduce some of the wind noise. At this time i have not actually used plugs, and i do not get any ringing even after longer rides on a rather loud bike. If you cant afford the next level of helmets in the 400+ range (like me), id seriously consider the bell vortex series. Great paint schemes, snell 2010, dot, interchangeable cheek pads and visors, replacement parts, are all reasons why i bought the vortex. August 27, 2014
Nice features, affordable. I just received my Bell Vortex in Band White today. I love the sparkling graphic bands and pearlescent finish throughout on this helmet. I fall in between a size small and a medium and I went with the medium. The fit is quite comfy and I believe going for the smaller size would have been too tight. My gripes are that the Bell logo is not removeable. I wish the logos were a little more inconspicuous. Also, I was hoping to have the magnetic closure on the chin strap but I have the standard snap closure. I was a little disappointed but prepared for this after reading the note on the description page. Overall you get a lot for what you pay for and it is a good looking helmet. This helmet is inexpensive for all the features you get and isn't cheap quality. I am very excited to get out and try out this helmet tomorrow. July 29, 2014
Really nice sub $200 Helmet Wow for under $200 you get a Snell approved helmet that looks and fits fantastic. Pretty classic design with all the usual modern features. I personally wish it had an internal visor but then it wouldn't be Snell. It is a bit snug a first then broke it nicely. Breather reasonably well and really good vision. Recommended. July 25, 2014
Great helmet for the price. Pictures don't do this helmet justice. The paint used for the stripes has a pearlescent effect and it has a nice layer of clear coat. The helmet has a quality feel. The liner is comfortable the cheek pads were a little tight at first but it broke in after a few hours and it is really comfortable to wear. It gets a little hot but not terrible. For the price this is an awesome deal and it feels like you get more than you pay for. July 7, 2014
Light well ventilated and looks great. I didn't realize in the photos online but the styling lines on the paint have sparkles in them; it looks great but it is worth mentioning in case others did not notice. Besides the sparkles the helmet is as advertised. It's light well ventilated and looks great. June 17, 2014
Got it today. Just got my Black with Orange, and i love it already. Changing shields is so easy it was hard.. I wear a 2XL Moto 4 and this Vortex fits exactly the same, i took a gamble on that. Only regret was not ordering the dark shield over the light smoke one. Bell makes good stuff. June 4, 2014
