My third Bell Helmet, went for the Star this time. I grew up using Bell Helmets in the mid to late 80's, early 90's so I've always had a penchant for them. I have had 3 Bell helmets in the last 4+ years all from Revzilla. Bell Vortex, Bell RS-1 and now the Star, Pinned no less. Like any of the previous models, the fit and finish is excellent as alluded to in the videos. The quick release mechanism for the shield is a pinch to work with along with replacement. The Star is just a step above the rest. Its a hefty price point if you are just getting into riding, but its sooo worth it. The Carbon/Kevlar blend on the Pinned is a sight to behold. And the weight of a mere 3 lbs is excellent. Still, Bell has some work to do on wind noise. Its prevalent on both the Star and the RS-1. Ear plugs can fix that in a snap. The Star works very well in the tuck at speed and it is forgiving somewhat if you need to take a peek around your shoulder or down through your armpit. August 3, 2015
Very happy with this helmet :) I was a bit worried about spending so much, but in this case you do get what you pay for! Considering the fantastic helmet bag, it's kind of a bargain, really. Very comfortable, fits my intermediate oval head perfectly with no pressure points. Nice-feeling materials. Ventilation is great, visibility is great, no buffeting at track speeds. The matte carbon looks fantastic! Love it... June 22, 2015
Excellent helmet, period. I personally got the blue pinned version. Pros: -LIGHT(obviously) doesn't feel like you're wearing anything. Not neck pain. -Strong -Very nice design -Very good build quality -Fit is true -Price is completely reasonable for what you're getting. -Already has cut outs for speakers if you get a blue tooth communicator. -Good air flow/low noise. Cons: -is there such a thing? Lol. But seriously, it's a awesome helmet. Not just trying to boast. I can't think of any cons. Using the helmet for 3 months now. Got the transition face shield and is perfect. June 22, 2015
Love it! This being my first high performance street helmet you might take my review with a grain of salt, but I absolutely love this helmet! I had been riding with a cheap Biltwell helmet, so obviously I noticed a huge difference as soon as I put on the star carbon. Gone are the days of sweating balls in an unvented helmet, my first ride was in around 85 degree weather, and I hardly broke a sweat. The aerodynamics are night and day as well. Anywhere over 60 mph my last helmet felt like it was going to fly off my head as I would strain my neck try to deal with the buffeting. The Star Carbon cuts through the air like a warm knife through butter. And I no longer feel like I'm going to break my neck doing head checks at higher speeds. Obviously fit will vary from person to person, and I've always found the best fit with Bell helmets (I've worn bell dirt bike helmets since I was 5) but never have I been so comfortable in a helmet as with this one. I have an overall more round head shape, and with a lot of other helmet brands I've worn I tend to fall somewhere in between a medium and large. I had a large Biltwell, which wasn't as snug as I'd like, but the medium was definitely too small unless I wanted to deal with throbbing headaches every time I rode. With the Star carbon however, I'm a solid medium, and it fits like a glove. And to top it all off the graphics are a perfect match to my 81' Honda! (part of the reason I ended up choosing the star carbon over the RS-1) Definitely happy with my purchase though.. and I didn't even realize, but it comes with a pretty nice carrying bag with a few extra storage pockets, which helped to soften the blow a little as far as the price is concerned. So yes, If you're looking for a high end helmet, and you have a "Bell shaped" head, I would highly recommend this product! June 13, 2015
good helmet but way too loud i get headaches if i ride on the highway for more than 30 min, just because of how loud it gets. otherwise good helmet. June 13, 2015
Better than I had hoped. I was researching helmets for a few months and was between this and a Signet-Q. I ultimately chose this helmet and am perfectly pleased with the decision. It is supremely comfortable commuting to work and flows a great deal if air. The graphics on this helmet really pop and the high-viz yellow is very well done. The pockets in the shell for ear pieces work very well and the sound difference from this to my HJC IS-17 is like night and day. Some observations I do have are: the cheek pads don't form a complete seal and there is a fair amount of wind noise around the back base of the helmet. I suspect once I get the advertised sized cheek pads (50mm vs 45mm) it should correct the issue. Also the spoiler can catch wind during head checks it's not bad but it is sudden if you're not ready for it. Outside of that this helmet is amazing May 25, 2015
Great Helmet, But Loud I replaced two old Shoei helmets with the Star Carbon. The helmet is surprisingly light to the hand, it's fit was accurate (sz L), on my somewhat oval head. The cheek pieces fit snugly but after the first few hours they broke in and I forgot about it. On the bike, the helmet is loud, very loud, so much I couldn't hear my CBR1000F Two Bros pipe over the wind noise. Good earplugs are a requirement. The ventilation system is great but the airflow is highly regulated by the amount of tuck of your chin. The airflow favors a slight downward head position, ie sport bike posture. The aerodynamics are fantastic, all buffeting coming over the windscreen is gone, yes I mean gone. The helmet slices through the wind like no other I've worn. Other than the wind noise issue, it's comfortable, light and feels great. May 22, 2015
New Bell Star My helmet just arrived and i couldn't wait to try it on! First impression, super lite compared to my older EXO-700. Super plush on the inside and I am in love with the graphic. Thanks ZLA for another awesome product and super fast delivery. Can anyone say 24 hours! Super fast as always! March 10, 2015

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Larry W: Excellent quality helmet, was on sale for a fantastic low price. I bought this for my son, and he absolutely loves it. Aug 19, 2015
Bruce S: I needed a new helmet and loved the scheme color of this BELL. Pick the size that fits you and it will contour to your head. It seemed too tight at first but it learned my head shape in a few rides. Very glad I chose this BELL. Jan 1, 2015
Neal N: loved the color scheme and I just got a job in south florida so I figured I needed a helmet that would give me good protection with a bunch of ventilation for these florida summers, and judging from the reviews that's exactly what the bell star is about cool styling with functionality and class leading ventilation. Can't wait to get my hands on it!!! Jan 8, 2014
Alan G: Great look and great features Nov 16, 2013

A s: I've used the Sena SMH10, SMH10R, and 20S with my Bell Star without issue. Most bluetooth communicators should work fine with this helmet. Apr 19, 2015

JEAN CLAUDE R asked: Does the transition shield come with the helmet by default with the Star Spirit series? Or does this have to be ordered separately? Nov 15, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Loren L: It was bought seperately. Its great for the street if you are going to ride from sunlight to dark but for the track I don't see quite as well out of it and prefer a conventional shield. Just an fyi Nov 15, 2013

JEAN CLAUDE R: Roger that...this will be for the track and street, as I have several other helmets both for track and street. Is there an option for dark tint, or does the helmet come with the clear visor? Nov 16, 2013
Jon S: You have to order it separately. Nov 15, 2013

A shopper asked: What are the new sizes for the shells? Nov 10, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
I B: I had the Star Rally Matte Black and just upgraded to the new Spirit. I've heard they've added a third shell size to the new 2013 Star just as for the RS1. Want to know the sizing in the new shell sizes (for example, the XS and S are a small shell size, the M and L are a Medium, etc.) I absolutely love the helmet and the fit and ventilation are great but it feels a bit bulky. Curtis H: Not sure what you mean by new sizes? But I will say I have two bell star helmets and sizing is consistant with most other helmets. Meaning if you normally wear an xl helmet buy the xl in the bell. It is a great helmet, especially with the transitions shield, you won't be disappointed. Nov 10, 2013

Shuang L: Just ordered an XL Bell Star, the new outer shell does run a bit large. My head is also boarder line a L and an XL, according to the box description, XL and XXL shares the same outer shell mold, if I were you, I would go for a L, the inside padding is soft enough to accommodate anyway. A shopper asked: I'm going to order the Bell Star Spirit and I have a question about size. my head measures 7.5 inches and that is right in the middle of a Large and an Extra Large helmet size. Based on true size, fit, and feel, what size should I order? Phillip. Oct 3, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Curtis H: Not sure this will help but the sizing seems to run true to most other brands. I have always worn XL helmets. I ordered the star in an XL and it fits perfect. I would just order the size you typically wear, or stop I. To your local moto shop and try one one. Good luck. Oct 4, 2013

Christopher S: My head measures 7 3/4", I shave my head (yes I have hair, it's just REALLY short) and I wear a thin sweat beenie. The XL Bell Star fits me perfectly......If your head measures 7 1/2" then IMO a large Bell Star would be the way to go for you. Hope this helps!! Oct 5, 2013
