Great Helmet for the Price
Helmet fits great. Much more quite than my old HJC AC-12. Better fit and good in the Cold. Have not tried it in the rain yet,but I have high hopes.

All I Can say is BUY!!
Have put 500 miles on this baby, great air flow, great fit, and a head turner. Worth the money even if it was not on sale. Great air flow at higher speeds, very good viewing angle, and keeps me warm on those cold night rides(40 degrees). I have nothing bad to say about this beauty. Buy the SolFX sheild to go with it, it makes a difference. Bell Thank You! Cant wait to buy another RS-1.

This product is worth the money
The cheek pads begin breaking in soon enough, and after that, the helmet becomes quite comfortable. The field of vision is nearly as wide as one could imagine, although it is not the widest. The ventilation, also, is very good. One of this helmet's greatest features is its weight. It is incredibly light. In fact, as one might hope with a helmet, you can easily forget that you're wearing this particular helmet. Personally, I find it great for the 3/4 position, as the helmet does not force one into a full tuck.

Excellent mid-range helmet
I was pleasantly surprised with the Bell RS-1. I have used an HJC (don't remember the model, but it was terrible) and a Shoei RF-1000 in the past, but I haven't ridden in a few years.
The RS-1 has a very comfortable liner material that is miles ahead of comfort liners in helmets I have used in the past. I like the magnetic strap keeper as well, the magnet is very strong and I never had issues with it coming loose and flapping around.
The visor change system is like my past Shoei, extremely easy to use. This is a moot point though as you can get the Photochromic face shield which is the biggest selling point of any Bell helmet IMO. It is definitely worth the price to have a face shield that tints itself when the sun is bright and go clear in low light situations.
My only big dislike of the helmet comes from the smaller than normal fit. I have worn large helmets in the past as my head measures right around 59.5-60cm in circumference. A size large in Bell's helmets is 58-59cm so it does exert more pressure than I was used to. Sometimes I developed hot spots, sometimes I didn't. Another small niggle is I sometimes wore eyeglasses with the helmet and even with extremely straight frame arms on the glasses it could be uncomfortable after a certain amount of time.
I ended up changing what my next bike purchase would be and the style of the RS-1 w/ cataclysm graphics doesn't really go well with it so I opted to go Schuberth.

This is an excellent helmet
I bought this full face helmet based on other reviews and Revzilla's helmet overview video and it was a great buy. I used the size chart and it was accurate for me. A medium fit me perfect. I typically ride with a half-shell helmet, but winter is nearly here so I bought this full face helmet to ride year round. The helmet is super quiet, especially if you are used to half helmets like me, ventilation is good, the interior lining is very comfortable and removable. The magnetic strap is a nice touch that comes in handy too and it is Snell certified. It really is a great helmet. I would definitely recommend this helmet for anyone looking for a good full face helmet. I'm getting the photochromatic shield next.

Without a doubt, the most comfortable helmet I've ever owned or worn. Spendy? A bit, but you be the judge on how valuable your noggin is. Worth every penny.

This is what I put my brain in...
I bought this for when (not if) I have an off as well as my primary riding/learning helmet. Comfort was a big factor and so was the epic Shattered graphic I got.
I do find this helmet very comfortable and it fits me perfectly.
I did try an L initially but my 59.5cm head had a horrid time in the L size, giving me a blistering headache from multiple pressure points within minutes. I put on an XL and it was the most comfortable helmet I had ever tried.
It is very easy to remove the liners, face shield, breath guard (against face shield) and to stick in headphones.
I do not find it heavy compared to some other helmets I've tried.
Riding around on my ninja I have fairly good vision and I can see fairly well behind me with a shoulder check without turning my whole torso so visibility is very good too.
I would say that even though this helmet does have a very steep price point, it is worth every penny when it save you from a concussion or broken neck or cracked skull. You get what you pay for in helmets. Your head should be the most important part of your body to protect.
And remember, what you skimp on protecting is what you can afford to live without.
On another note, the faceshield has a bunch of teeth to open at 10 or 15 different levels (and is very sturdy), there are 4 well defined openings, cracked to defog, 1st is slightly open, 2nd is half open and 3rd is full open.
Make sure to check out my video as I give a quick a quick look at this Bell RS-1 helmet, Alpinestars SP-1 gloves and a Deltran Battery Tender Jr.)

Comfortable. Spend the money. It's your head
This is my first helmet but it is very comfortable and turns heads. The design looks better in person and the air flow is great. The dark smoke visor looks great on it too. I feel that its definitely worth the money. Great helmet so far
