Fantastic high-end helmet
I used to wear a RF-1100 and while not a bad helmet at all, this is better in every possible way. For my head it fits a little snugger in M than the RF-1100 did in M but with the same shape, it's quieter, lighter, more plush, and the air flow is significantly better. Honestly it's less a different helmet and more like someone took the RF-1100 and corrected my every complaint about it.
For $500 this thing's a steal and well worth the cost investment for protecting your noggin.

I love the Bell RS-1 series helmets. They are pretty much perfect in my opinion.
-Fit is excellent, very snug but not too snug. I had to go up a couple sizes above what I measured though. Ended up requiring a 2XL instead of a L which was what I measured.
-The vents work very, very well. You have two vents on the top and one on the bottom that work great for defogging or just giving you more airflow.
-The helmet is quiet with the vents closed, I don't really have any issues even with the vents opened although I have not done a long ride with them open.
-Ability to buy a transition shield for this is excellent, plus the lock/vent/release latch is a nice bonus.
-Detachable padding, always good.
-Went down at ~25mph and hit the side of my head on the road and didn't really feel anything. Works as advertised.
Got the RS-1 liner helmet for my wife and the RS-1 speed helmet for myself. We love the styling, fit and protection on both of them and I would totally buy the same again.

Excellent helmet with very few drawbacks
As the title says, this is an incredible helmet at a reasonable pricepoint. The helmet is very light and very quiet when it comes to wind-noise. I can actually hear my engine and exhaust louder than the wind, which was not the case with my old modular. Drawbacks to this helmet include the chin being sufficiently short that my neck gets cold in the winter, and the visor not being pinlock-compatible. The photochromatic part of the visor works perfectly. It just fogs up in the winter. I did not find the breath box to be effective in 20-40 degree weather. That item is not worth buying.

This helmet gives an awesome range of view and is light and very comfortable. I love all the features and this is the first helmet that the airflow is significant. I have never had a helmet that I ever had to shut the vents because there was never enough airflow. Very happy with this product overall!!

Can't go wrong with this helmet
I purchased this helmet to upgrade from a scorpion EXO 500, and I wasn't disappointed. It fits my head extremely well, and the air flow is outstanding. The helmet is a bit noisy, but tolerable even on longer rides. The only gripe I have is that the neck roll is not removable, which would be nice for cleaning purposes.
All in all, it's a great helmet and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Takes some stress out of high-speed riding
I've only ever had Scorpion Helmets, 2 EXO-700's and more recently an EXO-R710. The R710 disappointed me to the extent that I started searching for a new helmet almost immediately after buying it.
I commute 60mi round trip every day in LA traffic, and my budget was sub-$400. Had to be light and aerodynamic with a wide FOV. Tried a Shoei Qwest, but it just didn't jive with me for various reasons. Tried on a few HJC's and Arai's and nothing fit well. I'm right on the smaller side of medium, and have roughly an intermediate oval-y, kind of egg shaped head. I would absolutely never, ever, ever recommend buying a helmet without trying it on, but I took a giant risk and bought this one after reading rave reviews, since they did not have one in stock to try on. And oh man. It was a good decision.
Field of view is exceptional. Best peripheral vision I've ever had on a helmet. Fit is race tight, but breaks in very quickly. Interior liner is smooth and soft, and the best part, totally removable and replaceable. After a couple days the lining broke in and now fits perfectly. I have a naked bike but there's little to no movement on my head even at 80mph+ (not that I blatantly disobey the speed limit THAT often >_>). Very confident it would stay firmly planted in the event of a crash. The weight is feather light. Perfectly distributed, much unlike my previous Scorpions which were very front heavy.
What I noticed immediately is how quiet it was even with all of the vents open. The padding they use around the ears is an interesting material, almost bean-bag like, and it blocks wind and other noise beautifully. Between the light weight, wide FOV and the lack of noise, the first time I went out riding I actually forgot the helmet was there for a second. It's that comfortable. My only problem is that I can hardly hear my bike with it on, and my girlfriend says I'm not allowed to get an Akrapovic exhaust... yet.
Recently I purchased the SOLFX transition face shield as well, and would give this combo the highest recommendation. Why on earth Bell doesn't bundle these with every helmet is beyond me. Probably out of courtesy to other helmet manufacturers, because if they did that they would be the official helmet of... everyone. I sincerely doubt I'll ever go back to having to swap shields.
Obviously my glowing praise is due in no small part to the fact that my head happens to fit their design quite well. This will not be true for everyone. I would highly recommend going to your local stealer-ship (preferably one with the lowest Yelp ratings), try it on, then come back here and order it from Revzilla.

Bell helmet. Years of innovation. Fits great. Breathes well. Feel safer with it on.
