Bell RS-1 Speed Hi-Viz Helmet
This helmet gives an awesome range of view and is light and very comfortable. I love all the features and this is the first helmet that the airflow is significant. I have never had a helmet that I ever had to shut the vents because there was never enough airflow. Very happy with this product overall!!

Can't go wrong with this helmet
I purchased this helmet to upgrade from a scorpion EXO 500, and I wasn't disappointed. It fits my head extremely well, and the air flow is outstanding. The helmet is a bit noisy, but tolerable even on longer rides. The only gripe I have is that the neck roll is not removable, which would be nice for cleaning purposes.
All in all, it's a great helmet and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Takes some stress out of high-speed riding
I've only ever had Scorpion Helmets, 2 EXO-700's and more recently an EXO-R710. The R710 disappointed me to the extent that I started searching for a new helmet almost immediately after buying it.
I commute 60mi round trip every day in LA traffic, and my budget was sub-$400. Had to be light and aerodynamic with a wide FOV. Tried a Shoei Qwest, but it just didn't jive with me for various reasons. Tried on a few HJC's and Arai's and nothing fit well. I'm right on the smaller side of medium, and have roughly an intermediate oval-y, kind of egg shaped head. I would absolutely never, ever, ever recommend buying a helmet without trying it on, but I took a giant risk and bought this one after reading rave reviews, since they did not have one in stock to try on. And oh man. It was a good decision.
Field of view is exceptional. Best peripheral vision I've ever had on a helmet. Fit is race tight, but breaks in very quickly. Interior liner is smooth and soft, and the best part, totally removable and replaceable. After a couple days the lining broke in and now fits perfectly. I have a naked bike but there's little to no movement on my head even at 80mph+ (not that I blatantly disobey the speed limit THAT often >_>). Very confident it would stay firmly planted in the event of a crash. The weight is feather light. Perfectly distributed, much unlike my previous Scorpions which were very front heavy.
What I noticed immediately is how quiet it was even with all of the vents open. The padding they use around the ears is an interesting material, almost bean-bag like, and it blocks wind and other noise beautifully. Between the light weight, wide FOV and the lack of noise, the first time I went out riding I actually forgot the helmet was there for a second. It's that comfortable. My only problem is that I can hardly hear my bike with it on, and my girlfriend says I'm not allowed to get an Akrapovic exhaust... yet.
Recently I purchased the SOLFX transition face shield as well, and would give this combo the highest recommendation. Why on earth Bell doesn't bundle these with every helmet is beyond me. Probably out of courtesy to other helmet manufacturers, because if they did that they would be the official helmet of... everyone. I sincerely doubt I'll ever go back to having to swap shields.
Obviously my glowing praise is due in no small part to the fact that my head happens to fit their design quite well. This will not be true for everyone. I would highly recommend going to your local stealer-ship (preferably one with the lowest Yelp ratings), try it on, then come back here and order it from Revzilla.

Great Helmet for the Price
My previous helmet was a Bell Vortex I got free from the dealer with my 2nd bike. I had used it for a few years, but I just got fed up with it and read good things about the RS-1.
Noise/Fit: Wow, what a difference one model up makes. The Vortex was an "ear plugs in every ride" helmet because it was so loud. This helmet is quiet! I mean it's really quiet. Much quieter than any helmet I've used so far, quieter than the Shoei I used to use as well. The helmet is far lighter than the Vortex, the difference is very easy to feel in your hands and definitely when it's on your head. I ride a Ducati Monster 1200 so I have no wind protection, so these things have been a huge improvement in my life and are also very noticeable on the bike.
Shield Portability: I used my transitions auto-smoking shield that I had purchased towards the end of my last helmets left on the new helmet and it popped right on, no problems. I love it as I never have to swap shields anymore or anything -- helmet, gear, and go!
Fogging: I commute in all weather in Seattle so fogging is a real problem for me in the winter -- it was actually the last straw that made me buy a new helmet. This his helmet has the pop-up button (that also locks the shield down if so desired) so you get a small slit of air between the shield and the bottom. It works really well. The asymmetry of it popping only one side up angers my OCD, but I just try to avoid looking at it.
My only complaints so far is that the cheek pads were a bit tight early on, so I had patterns in my cheek bones during break in for a couple weeks and airflow doesn't seem to be "great". It's not bad, I still gave it a 4/5, for flow, but I've had better.

This helmet saved my life last Sunday when a driver across the intersection made a left turn in front of me and hit me. I flew off my bike backwards and landed flat on my back and the back of my helmet slammed the pavement. I did have a concussion but no internal bleeding and I owe my life to this helmet. It looks good, feels comfortable, and most importantly, it does its job. It is worth every penny.

The RS-1 is super-solid and a great value! The RSD graphics are killer!
I had my eye on this RSD graphic helmet for almost a year. A stoke of luck found me getting a clearance deal on this helmet, for only $200.00 from our beloved Revzilla. Killer. Score!!
This is my first Bell RS-1. I have a Shoei RF1100 and I can say that lb for lb, the Bell out-performs the Shoei in features and performance, not to mention price.
The Bell is more comfortable, and the attention to detail is quite impressive, from the magnetic chin strap closure to the 1-touch air vent access. The interior padding feels more plush and supportive that the RF1100's, and the visor quick-release on the Bell is a brilliant feature.
Bell did their homework on this one, and nailed so many things about it. The noise level is decent, but over 40mph, the wind noise picks up quite a bit. I'd say the noise level is on par with the Shoei.
Did I mention that the RSD graphics on this thing is a freaking work of art?! It looks sick! The matte black meeting the high-gloss graphic with metallic flake accents is just too sexy. I have the black & gold 2012 Triumph Street Triple and this helmet looks GOOD with it!
Highly recommend the RS-1. And of course, Revzilla ships super fast and their service is the best in the biz!

I changed to this from a icon and wow it's a big difference the size is smaller then my icon went from a medium to small. The way the pads feel during the rides are awesome and the neck piece helps a lot for wind noise. Biggest change is the air flow it helps a lot for keeping cool in Texas on chilly mornings actually have to keep the vents closed.
