Bell RS1 RSD Flash Bronze Helmet

Exceptional value. I imported the helmet to South Africa and waited 2 months thanks to a postal strike. It was so worth the wait! A little tight but I just know the fit will be perfect once its settled in. Width of vision is the best I've ever had and build quality exceptional. The ventilation system works perfect and easy as sin to operate. It isn't the quietest helmet but that is probably all negative I can note. I knew I could expect a great product from Bell! Great design and airflow. A bit noisy but over all a great helmet with good features. November 20, 2014
Great 1st helmet! This is my 1st helmet. I have had this for a year. Its been working and continues to work well. Though I did drop it about waist high and it landed on the rear top vent and it broke off. Also the front mounts near the forehead for head liner clips eventually came loose and got 1/2 way pulled out when I was taking out the head liner to be cleaned. Those are wear and tear issues and owner blunder. Perhaps they could be improved upon in future? I would buy again knowing that I would be more gentle with the helmet. I think I would go Medium next time too. I bought a "M" Bell Vortex from Revzilla and it fits a little better but I got it for a second female rider/back up. Compared to the Vortex the RS-1 is softer interior and the noise is much more muffled than with the Vortex. Lastly, the venting is the best, the helmet keeps me cool even in Hawaii! November 17, 2014
Air flow too much I like the design and fit of the helmet.. Light and great visibility, however, I seem to be getting a lot of unwanted air flow even with the visor locked... I have the transition visor on and it works great but wondering if the visor fit is a bit off. Getting a little cool out and cold air makes the eyes water, not good for less then perfect conditions. My favorite I have two RS-1 helmets, both wired for Sena SM-10's. My face is round and full, I wear an XL and this fits the best -- even better than my Shoei. My only complaints are that the airflow, when stationary, causes my glasses to fog when I breath - however this could simply be a function of my head shape and the way my glasses fit. Little to no wind noise except when you turn your head to do a head check. Perfect integration with the Sena and easy to install. October 27, 2014
Not very comfortable for tucked riding This helmet is fairly comfortable on a straight up sitting position, however, when riding a supersports bike (I commute on a R6 everyday) where you usually want to tuck in a bit, it's not very comfortable, the back of the helmet is very low, and when you tuck, the padding in the back of your head/neck, pushes the helmet forward, causing you not to see well up front since the top of the helmet gets in the way of your vision. This makes me have to constantly accommodate the helmet on my head a bit with my left hand every time I tuck on the highway, not fun. I'm thinking about keeping it for when I go on longer rides on the other motorcycle I use for traveling longer distances, but for using it on a sportsbike, I'm shopping around for a different helmet and a different brand. In other words, if you own a supersports bike, stay away, otherwise, very nice helmet with some good features. It's the quietest helmets I've owned. It's got the visor lock, and pockets for installing a Sena intercom, which is very nice and makes it an easy and quick install. I also got the Transitions SolFX Photochromic Face Shield for it, and THAT was a good buy, highly recommended if you get this helmet, a very nice shield. October 10, 2014
Good helmet... I chose this helmet because it was Snell certified, it was a comfortable fit, and it had an optional transitional lens. The helmet is loud, but nothing like my prior 3/4 helmet at highway speeds. I find the chin curtain doesn't do much, but deflects enough wind when the air is cold. Opening and closing the vents is easy. The helmet also doesn't weigh too much which is nice for the long rides. Barely, if any, wind buffeting in the 3/4 positions and lane checks are easy to do. The venting is okay, but was expecting more based on other reviews. Overall a great helmet at a decent price. October 7, 2014
Great Helmet The most beautiful helmet I've ever owned. I've received compliments from people who don't even ride. I've owned Shoei, Arai and Scorpion helmets in the past - this is my first Bell and I'm very satisfied with it. By far the lightest helmet I've ever had and fits perfectly. Not the best in noise reduction, but nothing unbearable. July 28, 2014

Mark G: I saw this helmet in person and it is one of the most beautiful designs I've ever seen. Mixing flat and gloss finishes and using the silver, gold and bronze tones is spectacular. Not only that but the RS-1 is a comfortable fit for me and now they're marked way down for cyber Monday. What's not to like? Dec 1, 2014

Kyle S: Very well reviewed and Snell rated. I need a snell rated helmet for track events and with the Back Friday price I couldn't pass it up. Nov 28, 2014
Jeffrey H asked: Does this helmet require a long break in period? I was in between sizes small and medium and went with the small because of the lose of room once broken in. This isnt my every day helmet it is in my rotation, any way the first few rides with it were fine snug but comfortable. Now that I wear it I start to develop pressure points towards the top of my head. I have gotten a different head liner but it dose not help. I dont want to spend money on different size cheek pads.
Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Kirt M: Jeffrey,

I purchased the helmet "to fit" but went to a one size smaller (large; as purchased) to medium cheek pad. Unfortunately this made all the difference. I spent 17 hours straight doing an Iron Butt from Chicago to Dallas and the helmet was comfortable, no pressure points. I have a long oval shaped head, high cheekbones and more of a square facial structure. I hope I've answered your question.

Michael T asked: Is the shell and EPS liner the same in the Small and Medium sized helmet? I would like to buy one Small helmet to fit two passengers (since I can only carry one at a time) and would just buy the Medium liner and cheek pads to make it work as a Medium when needed. Mar 26, 2014

So we know the RS 1, leap year ahead of something like the Vortex and the
Bell Line, but it's the baby brother of the Star. Certainly holds it's own
as an intermediate oval-head shape Snell 2010 Helmet that's sport and race
bred. Watch the full detailed breakdown video that we have.

Now, moving into the Flash Bronze graphic, again it's something different,
Bell continues to push the envelope, and what I think I love most about
this helmet is it's another Roland Sands design. If you don't know who
Roland Sands is, custom bike builder, custom part designer. Go check out
Roland Sands' amazing stuff that he produces. A phenomenal designer within
the moto-sphere.

If we look at the design, matte black chassis, we have a light gradient on
this dot graphic on the side and then what you have is this big over-
arching decal which really pops against the matte black. And what you have
is multiple colors that are kind of pulled almost in running-board fashion
all the way around with pin stripes, but then there's a reflectivity to the
entire thing. And you can see it as we bring it all the way to the back,
you're going to see the Roland Sands graphic. It comes across, it sweeps
with the Bell logo that's also reflective. You can see that metal flaking
within the paint, and if you run your finger all the way across the decal,
you can almost feel a slight raise to it.

Let me show you the top here as well. Top is going to be beautiful, it
comes back, it's very clean and classic within the RS 1 line. I would love
to hear your gut reaction to it. Leave us a note on our YouTube channel or
