A good helmet
A true-to-sizing fit; really nice features, and a pretty cool design. Airflow is a little less than I expected, but not bad. The bag that comes with is pretty nice, too. All-in-all, a very good value for what seems a very good helmet.

Great Helmet and I hear great things from my track brothers
Great value and Bell is no longer the cheap (price and quality) option of old. Many a racer trusts their head-guts to them know and I am very happy with mine so far.

This is a replacement for an RS-1 I crashed in. It did an excellent job of protecting me. I would recommend one to anyone. Top notch helmet.

This is the cooolest "ugly" helmet!!!
Really like this helmet. Airflow is good, lots of vents. Only complaint is foggy visor. Helmet came with foggy visor, think it's from whatever coating they put on it at the factory, but never fully rubbed in. I've cleaned it with a clean cloth, no chemicals, and even at 40F it fogs at every single stop light. The visor lock is pretty cool, but I've found it a bit hard to work with gloves on and I don't always get it locked, which makes me worry that it'll flip open when I'm not expecting it, so I leave it closed and it fogs. Would be awesome if they made the visor with pin-lock attachments instead of tear-off attachments that I'll never use. Super awesome helmet, thumbs down on the visor, should be okay once the temperature comes up in a few months, but until then I'll ride with my other helmet that has a pin-lock visor.

Thought the helmet was a great deal. I had to reorder down a size since Bells run larger. Exchange was super easy and fast. Once the new helmet broke in it fit great. It's much quieter than my previous Icon Armada. Ventilation work pretty good for hot and cold rides. In the high 40's, I stop using my balaclava mask since it has a chin skirt and the vents don't leak. I highly recommend going with a photochromic lens. It's worth every penny.

A great product for the money
Got a great deal on the helmet . Haven't been able to use it much because of the weather. Noise level great. Fit and finish are excellent. Would seem to be a much higher cost helmet. Would strongly recommend.

I recently got this helmet to upgrade my older Bell Vortex. I had an older vortex with the magnetic strap holder like in this helmet. One thing that I love. But since the bell Vortex no longer has it. I had no choice up to upgrade. I did notice the weight difference. Lighter then the Vortex.
Sizing.. The vortex is slighting larger then the rs-1. But I was able to get the same sized helmet.
It is hard to tell if the top vents or brow vents are open or closed. Not much air flow. The Bell vortex does have much more airflow on the top of the helmet. But with the chin vents. The rs-1 flow tons more air.
One thing I had issue with the rs-1. was when riding, didn't matter if all the vents were closed or open. I would get a draft of air right into my eyes. Causing them to dry out. I did some research and found a people that had the same issues, but found no solutions. I found when riding if I placed my hand under my chin curtain, the draft would go away. So I made a windproof chin curtain that is also much longer then the original one. That fixed the issue. I now like this helmet much better. I attached a picture.
Over all its the best choice helmet for me. As i wanted a Snell approved helmet that I can still use my transition shield with.

Inrecently purchased this helemt as a replacement for my old helmet. I purchased because of reviews and styling. Plus it is just a bell, so you know you are getting quality goods. This helmet is light on your head and has a wide view. Super comfortable! Very impressed with the rs-1 helmet!

Brad H: I had an RS1 that I wrecked in. Awesome helmet so I wanted to get another one. The RSD color scheme is very cool so I went with that style.Dec 13, 2014
Erich H: Purchased as a gift for my brother. Great looking helmet at a great on sale price!! I've watched a bunch of the Rezvilla video's which helped me to choose this particular helmet and the reviews on this helmet are great. Easy purchase and a great return policy if needed which is a huge plus ordering over the net!Dec 2, 2014
Michael P: Smoking sale price, good quality helmet, love the RSD graphicDec 2, 2014
Mark G: I saw this helmet in person and it is one of the most beautiful designs I've ever seen. Mixing flat and gloss finishes and using the silver, gold and bronze tones is spectacular. Not only that but the RS-1 is a comfortable fit for me and now they're marked way down for cyber Monday. What's not to like?Dec 1, 2014
todd s: Been drag racing for years with Bell helmets , hope to one day , get sponsorship from Bell.Dec 1, 2014
Kyle S: Very well reviewed and Snell rated. I need a snell rated helmet for track events and with the Back Friday price I couldn't pass it up.Nov 28, 2014
A shopper asked:Hi! I use a Airoh speed fire joker helmet of large size which was gifted to me by my wife. The helmet fits me perfect but there is lot of wind noise on this helmet n I wish to change. Will the bell 1 RS1 fit me large or should large or go for xl?Dec 10, 2014
Erich H:I am not familiar with your current helmet and its fitment. I would suggest using the sizing chart for the Bell RS-1 and go with that. I measured my head as per there method ina Rezvilla video, my skull is 23 1/4 which is on the max size for a Bell RS-1 in Large. I ordered the large and the helmet fits me perfectly! Its a great helmet at a great price right now on sale. If you have any further questions call the folks at Revzilla!Dec 10, 2014
GUY S:I'm not familiar with your helmet, but I normally wear a size medium; but in Bell I wear a size large. If you look at the sizing chart and measure your head, my experience is that Bell runs exactly true to size.Dec 11, 2014
Jeffrey H asked:Does this helmet require a long break in period? I was in between sizes small and medium and went with the small because of the lose of room once broken in. This isnt my every day helmet it is in my rotation, any way the first few rides with it were fine snug but comfortable. Now that I wear it I start to develop pressure points towards the top of my head. I have gotten a different head liner but it dose not help. I dont want to spend money on different size cheek pads. Any advise is greatly appreciated.Nov 22, 2014
I purchased the helmet "to fit" but went to a one size smaller (large; as purchased) to medium cheek pad. Unfortunately this made all the difference. I spent 17 hours straight doing an Iron Butt from Chicago to Dallas and the helmet was comfortable, no pressure points. I have a long oval shaped head, high cheekbones and more of a square facial structure. I hope I've answered your question.
Michael T asked:Is the shell and EPS liner the same in the Small and Medium sized helmet? I would like to buy one Small helmet to fit two passengers (since I can only carry one at a time) and would just buy the Medium liner and cheek pads to make it work as a Medium when needed.Mar 26, 2014
So we know the RS 1, leap year ahead of something like the Vortex and the
Bell Line, but it's the baby brother of the Star. Certainly holds it's own
as an intermediate oval-head shape Snell 2010 Helmet that's sport and race
bred. Watch the full detailed breakdown video that we have.
Now, moving into the Flash Bronze graphic, again it's something different,
Bell continues to push the envelope, and what I think I love most about
this helmet is it's another Roland Sands design. If you don't know who
Roland Sands is, custom bike builder, custom part designer. Go check out
Roland Sands' amazing stuff that he produces. A phenomenal designer within
If we look at the design, matte black chassis, we have a light gradient on
this dot graphic on the side and then what you have is this big over-
arching decal which really pops against the matte black. And what you have
is multiple colors that are kind of pulled almost in running-board fashion
all the way around with pin stripes, but then there's a reflectivity to the
entire thing. And you can see it as we bring it all the way to the back,
you're going to see the Roland Sands graphic. It comes across, it sweeps
with the Bell logo that's also reflective. You can see that metal flaking
within the paint, and if you run your finger all the way across the decal,
you can almost feel a slight raise to it.
Let me show you the top here as well. Top is going to be beautiful, it
comes back, it's very clean and classic within the RS 1 line. I would love
to hear your gut reaction to it. Leave us a note on our YouTube channel or
