Bell RS1 RSD Flash Bronze Helmet

The Bell RS-1 RSD Flash Bronze Helmet is a limited edition helmet designed by Roland Sands. The RS-1 bridges the gap between the top-of-the-line Bell Star and the value-minded Vortex with an amazing blend of price and performance. Starting with a lightweight Kevlar/fiberglass composite shell, the RS-1 brings with it Bell’s vaunted Velocity Flow Ventilation system providing cool comfort, a super stable aerodynamic profile keeping the helmet still at speed, and the versatile ClickRelease shield system for fast, easy shield swaps, not to mention an amazing variety of tint and coating choices. Contour Cut Cheek pads and a plush, X-Static XT2 silver-lined anti-microbial liner cradle the head in comfort while Bell’s exclusive Magnefusion magnetic strap keeper makes flapping strap ends a thing of the past. All said, it’s one great helmet at a modest price.

Awesome Helmet I've never worn a full face helmet because I thought it would be too constricting but I love the feel this helmet gives me. Obviously a little warm in the summer but seems fairly quiet and it has extras plus to replace the visor is a breeze. I have about a 24 inch head and the XX large works great for me. April 6, 2015
Squeezes Temples Seems to run small Quality/Build=Good to Great Helmet seemed to run small. This is not for the neutral head, but more of an elongated one. I had very painful pressure in the temple area. Wish it would have worked out, but did not. Quality and Build seem to be good to great. March 20, 2015
Good helmet, great price. I like the helmet so far. It's a little different fit, and took some break in time, but it's finally comfortable enough to wear for an hour or two at a time. Use Bell's website for fitment information as revzilla's is the older model helmets. The stability was worth the money, and the air flow system works. My ONLY complaint is the back of the helmet goes a little lower than I'd like. AGV does better with this than Bell. If you have a speed hump on your suit, the bell might bump up against it. Great Helmet You're going to be hard-pressed to find a better helmet at this price point. This is my second RS-1 helmet. First one was stolen but it served me well over a year and a half. The features on this model are well documented (the magnet chin-strap holder was the main reason why I stayed with bell) - and I won't bullet point over those. But I will add in that the thing is pretty durable. I dropped my original one more times than I should admit and it held up pretty well at average height drops. I did manage to break off the "duck bill" in the back with a perfectly aimed shot - so be careful with it. Otherwise a great lid. March 16, 2015
Great helmet at great price Bought the RSD Bell on sale, so I caught a deal. Love Bell helmets. Grew up wearing nothing but them. This helmet lives up to the standard and quality Bell is known for. If you look for comfort, look no further than Bell. Fit and finish is perfect. And really like the quick change visor system. March 16, 2015
Light and strongly built It looks really good. It is a little shorter than my previous helmets, but still confortable. Everything feels very well built and in place. The aerodynamics are great as well. The visor is very smooth and locks in place, it has holes in the inside foam for the ears which work perfectly for my bluetooth. This is my first Bell Helmet. I always preferred the high end AGVs but this is way better than my other helmet. 100% recommended. March 9, 2015
Best Closeout I've ever bought Last helmet is around 7 years old, so the feature set of the RS1 is a huge jump for me. The lock for the visor allows you to crack it or lock it down, which is nice. Slight buffeting on head turn at freeway speeds, nothing when wind hits you straight on. Ventilation is good, but shutting it out is not really an option. There is always a little ventilation in helmets, but this is slightly more than normal. I live in Southern California, so thats not not much of an issue for me, but it could be for spots with more weather. Speaker cutouts work very well with bluetooth on, had a bit of a problem getting the collar back in the right spot though. All in all its a great helmet, had it a little over a month so far, no major complaints. February 24, 2015
Awesome Helmet! I spent a lot of time researching as this is the first full face helmet I have bought, I'v always worn a novelty bucket helmet. I found the videos really helpful and I decided to spend little extra to get something nice and was not disappointed. My order came fast with no issues and I got a chance to do a decent ride the other day. Helmet fit great and I was surprised at how much vision I had. April 6, 2015

Erich H: I am not familiar with your current helmet and its fitment. I would suggest using the sizing chart for the Bell RS-1 and go with that. I measured my head as per there method ina Rezvilla video, my skull is 23 1/4 which is on the max size for a Bell RS-1 in Large. I ordered the large and the helmet fits me perfectly! Its a great helmet at a great price right now on sale. If you have any further questions call the folks at Revzilla! Dec 10, 2014

GUY S: I'm not familiar with your helmet, but I normally wear a size medium; but in Bell I wear a size large. If you look at the sizing chart and measure your head, my experience is that Bell runs exactly true to size. Dec 11, 2014

Jeffrey H asked: Does this helmet require a long break in period? I was in between sizes small and medium and went with the small because of the lose of room once broken in. This isnt my every day helmet it is in my rotation, any way the first few rides with it were fine snug but comfortable. Now that I wear it I start to develop pressure points towards the top of my head. I have gotten a different head liner but it dose not help. I dont want to spend money on different size cheek pads.
Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Kirt M: Jeffrey,

I purchased the helmet "to fit" but went to a one size smaller (large; as purchased) to medium cheek pad. Unfortunately this made all the difference. I spent 17 hours straight doing an Iron Butt from Chicago to Dallas and the helmet was comfortable, no pressure points. I have a long oval shaped head, high cheekbones and more of a square facial structure. I hope I've answered your question.

Michael T asked: Is the shell and EPS liner the same in the Small and Medium sized helmet? I would like to buy one Small helmet to fit two passengers (since I can only carry one at a time) and would just buy the Medium liner and cheek pads to make it work as a Medium when needed. Mar 26, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Andrew K: No, 3 shell sizes (per sportbiketrackgear). X-small and small share the smallest shell size, and medium and large share the intermediate size. Mar 26, 2014

So we know the RS 1, leap year ahead of something like the Vortex and the
Bell Line, but it's the baby brother of the Star. Certainly holds it's own
as an intermediate oval-head shape Snell 2010 Helmet that's sport and race
bred. Watch the full detailed breakdown video that we have.

Now, moving into the Flash Bronze graphic, again it's something different,
Bell continues to push the envelope, and what I think I love most about
this helmet is it's another Roland Sands design. If you don't know who
Roland Sands is, custom bike builder, custom part designer. Go check out
Roland Sands' amazing stuff that he produces. A phenomenal designer within
the moto-sphere.

If we look at the design, matte black chassis, we have a light gradient on
this dot graphic on the side and then what you have is this big over-
arching decal which really pops against the matte black. And what you have
is multiple colors that are kind of pulled almost in running-board fashion
all the way around with pin stripes, but then there's a reflectivity to the
entire thing. And you can see it as we bring it all the way to the back,
you're going to see the Roland Sands graphic. It comes across, it sweeps
with the Bell logo that's also reflective. You can see that metal flaking
within the paint, and if you run your finger all the way across the decal,
you can almost feel a slight raise to it.

Let me show you the top here as well. Top is going to be beautiful, it
comes back, it's very clean and classic within the RS 1 line. I would love
to hear your gut reaction to it. Leave us a note on our YouTube channel or
