Bell Bullitt RSD Viva Helmet Videos

Bell Bullitt Roland Sands Viva Helmet

In the late 1960’s Bell released the Star, the first full-face helmet, revolutionizing the helmet and motorsport industries and setting a new standard for safety. Since then Motorcycle helmets have taken all sorts of shapes and forms, but at its essence has always been the simple and classic Star. The inherent beauty in the Star’s simplicity has made it an effective and aesthetically appealing piece of motorcycle gear that has survived the test of time.

To pay homage to the glory days of motorsport, the Bell Bullitt inherits classic Star styling yet is infused with contemporary comforts and safety. Constructed with a low-profile fiber composite shell and multi-density EPS liner, the Bullitt meets modern DOT regulations yet comes as close as possible to the look and feel of the original Star. Luxurious appointments like micro-suede lining with leather trim, metal mesh circular intake vents with a rear exhaust vent and 3D cut cheek pads with speaker pockets compliment the vintage styling and push the Bullitt into the 21st century.

Named after the brash detective played by iconic actor and motorsport enthusiast Steve McQueen in the cult classic Bullitt, the Bell Bullitt is as much an exercise in design as it is in rider safety, breaking the mold and providing a premium retro option to the market. Put that vintage helmet back on the shelf where it belongs and pick up a Bullitt to fulfill all your retro riding dreams.

Bell Bullitt RSD Viva Helmet 4.3 5 195 195
Premium style and features but slightly loud at times Let me preface by saying this is a great helmet and my one gripe with it does not prevent me from wearing it all the time. It has extremely nice linings and a solid build quality. The field of view introduced with the bubble visor is incredible. I've owned 5 helmets built over the past few decades and a few modern ones and when I put this on I was shocked. With a great fitting helmet there should be a snug but comfortable amount of breath-ability. With the bubble shield this helmet removes any feeling of claustrophobia or cramped fit. I've also installed the tinted mirror shield to see how this works and it is very clear as well. The magnetic latch is nice and works as a little handle as well. This is attached to the visor permanently and the tinted visor ships with the magnetic handle as well. I get complements on it all the time, but at the end of the day this is a quality helmet that will protect my noggin which is why I bought it. If in doubt, flip a coin over the standard or RSD version of the Bullitt! October 13, 2015
Only buy if style is tantamount to functionality I really wanted to like this helmet. I chalked the noise level complaints up to people just being picky since it had so many other glowing reviews. Unfortunately, the detractors were right. I now think those people just unboxed the helmet and wrote a review on just aesthetics. My bike has a windscreen that deflects most of the wind up and over the helmet yet this thing is still jet engine loud mixed with a whistle like someone is constantly blowing a kazoo in your ear. It sucks and I've never experienced a helmet quite like it. I noticed that when I put my hand over the vents on the front, the wind noise is reduced so now I'm going to try putting gorilla tape over the vents of my new $400 helmet. But hey, tape on the helmet is coooool mannnnn and what retro is all about. Also, there is no padding around the cheeks so riding in cold temps freezes your face. It wasn't clear by the pictures shown here that this was the case. The first notch for holding the visor in place is way too high sending wind directly into your eyeballs. I'm wondering if Bell even tested these things before releasing them to market. I doubt it. I know it says not write about customer service in here but it seems that others have with no success from Revzilla and Bell so I will comment. As one of the largest retailers on the net, I think Revzilla should serve as a better advocate for its customers with the manufacturer. Obviously there is a problem and both seem adamant not to admit it. Maybe with helmets priced $400 and up, have a home try on program with loner helmets (shipping paid for by the customer) similar to what Warby Parker does with glasses. It seems my only course of action is to try and unload this monstrosity in the classifieds section of some motorcycle forums. November 19, 2015
Great product it runs small I ordered this helmet as a gift for my fiancé. When I received the large, it was slightly too small. I had to return it and order an XL. The fit is great and it looks great! November 17, 2015
sweet helmet modernized version of the original. a little noisy but great fit and comfort. November 16, 2015
cool style great protection just like any helmet, you're going to get a whistle if you have the visor up or off. the vision i have with this helmet is just like i'm wearing a 3/4 helmet. also the low chin bar works great because i tend to get phlegmy in houston because of allergies and pollution, so i'm able to get rid of it at stoplights. it has great retro styling, while offering equal protection, that looks way better on my bonnie than my other full face helmet. the lining is comfortable and so far hasn't gotten funky from sweat. all in all, a good looking helmet that i'm happy to wear year round. Painful on forehead I wanted to love this helmet - There is so much to like. However, the two snaps for the liner at the forehead were too painful. The helmet fit perfectly, otherwise. October 24, 2015
Great looking helmet. Great visibility. Great features. A bit noisy at higher speeds. Padding feels a little cheap, but it's still fairly comfortable. Overall, I really like the Bell Bullitt helmet. It has several great features. Several options for customization. The fit is good. Style is great. Great visibility. Padding could be better quality for the price. It's a bit noisy at high speeds. Otherwise. It's a great helmet. October 12, 2015
Vintage Full Face I have done around 1000 miles in the helmet now with both shields and predominantly using goggles. Whistling noise: There is some noise as listed in other reviews but I only heard it when moving my head around in a position I would not be riding in. For example, looking up at the sky or down at my side mounted speedo. I found it to be most predominant using the flat shield and not noticeable at all using goggles. Fit: I wear a Large Bell Star and needed an XL Bullitt. Additionally, there was some break-in required for the headliner. I realized this when I put the helmet on without the headliner and there was plenty of room, however, initially the headliner was causing slight, even pressure on my head. It only took a few hundred miles to break in and I suspect this could be expedited with some wetting/stretching. There is less padding than my Bell Star but there was no noticeable difference in comfort after an 850 mile weekend. It is a tight fit around the ears as mentioned in other reviews but I was able to get it on and off with in-ear headphones and sun burnt ears. Performance: + The seal of the shield was exceptional even at high speeds in the rain - While only using a shield I got some wind across my eyes. I may have been sensitive to this since I was mainly using it with goggles. + I experienced less wind buffeting than my Bell Star which surprised me - I would like to be able to close the top vents like you can with the bottom. Jason B: It reminds me of Evel Knievel, those sweet seventies curves. It's a little unique and screams style - with a flat blast shield it will exude speedstrip. The sort of Helmet that I'll leave on to make love to strippers in hahaha, I may raise the visor however! Aug 6, 2014
Brian P asked: Is the RSD branding on the chin bar removable? Sep 10, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (5) No (0)
Brian P: I just got one, so I'll answer my own question: No, the RSD logo is not removable--it's beneath the "clearcoat" (or whatever). Kind of disappointing, frankly. If you're going to plaster your non-removable logo on something, at least put it in a place where it doesn't completely interfere with the design. Heck, even the Bell logo can be removed.

On the bright side...it bothers me less in person than it does in the photos here.

Brian P asked: Forgot to ask in my previous question: The video makes reference to the helmet shipping with two shields, a bubble and a flat. The product details above seem to indicate otherwise. Which is correct? Sep 10, 2014

Carlos Eduardo M: It's hard to say. But if you can, try on the Bell Custom 500 as a reference. Besides the 3/4 shell, they are round-shaped and they feel about the same in the scalp. At least it worked for me. Feb 6, 2015
Peter H: Not sure, I have a 7 3/8 dome and I ordered a large. It's a snug fit, but expecting some compression. Great helmet BTW, fit and finish are outstanding. Feb 8, 2015

Renan P V asked: A lot of people are saying that this helmet is very loud when riding... is this with ear plugs? I wonder because I normally use ear plugs but am curious to know if it is the design that will create a somehow annoying pitch inside the helmet.. Jul 2, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Peter H: I don't ride w earplugs and spend little time on highways. It is noticeably loud over 40 mph. Absolutely great helmet. Field of vision is spectacular. Have actually spit in my helmet, forgetting it's not open face. Gets lots of favorable comments w the bubble shield. One other note, the paint is very sensitive to scratching. If that concerns u, travel w the helmet bag. Jul 3, 2015

Carlos Eduardo M: It is loud indeeed, but you don't need to use earplugs. The wind comes in the helmet through the small gap between shell and shield, and through the chin. Due to that, it makes wind noises, but not as much as a open or 3/4 helmet. Jul 3, 2015
A shopper asked: I wear a Shoei RF1100 size Large and it is snug on my head. What size should i get the Bell Bullit RSD? Large or Extra-Large? Thanks guys. Apr 4, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
James C: I wore an agv medium so got the bell bullit in a medium and it was a great fit so if say get what size you have and if it's a little tight it will wear in. My wife ordered a helmet that was too big and revzilla have been awesome about returning it and getting a small sent out so if it's too small just call them and they'll sort you out Apr 4, 2015
