Bell Bullitt RSD Viva Helmet
Solid helmet - style for days
I bought this helmet on sale and the fit and finish are really nice for what I paid. Not sure if I'd be as thrilled if I paid full retail. It's one of those things where you're paying as much for form as you are for function. The question to ask yourself is how much is that worth? That said, I'm happy with the purchase and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. The retro look is pretty sweet...can't wait to add a tinted visor.

Awesome helmet, BEST PRICE EVER!
This was by far THE BEST PRICE for a Bell Bullit on the web. I have yet to try it out, but i am expecting that it will be as awesome as it looks!

The bell bullitt is my favorite helmet! I have it in matte black with a silver iridium shield, the helmet looks straight evil. I'm constantly getting asked "what kind of helmet is that"? You can ride it on any type of bike and still look great! My suggestion to those who ride with it in the colder months out of the year, cut up little square pieces of duct tape and put them over the 4 circle vents, in the dead of winter I tend to get a brain freeze haha. I have nothing bad to say about this helmet, it's super light, it looks great, wind noise is very minimal IMO. I highly suggest this helmet!

Excellent for the right rider
Well, I've been looking for a new helmet for quite awhile, and I just got one of these as a Christmas gift. Only one ride in so far, and I liked it!
It was about 60 degrees and breezy for my first ride, and I put in about 60 miles, mixed freeway, country road, and city streets. The helmet's louder than my older Shoei full face, but surprisingly, at highway speed, I had much less buffeting than I get with the Shoei. Not sure why, but this is a nice surprise.
There's a bit of draft that leaks through the gap between the visor and the helmet, not really an issue, as I wear glasses, but might bother someone who wears contact lenses. One nice benefit of this is that the shield is much less fog-prone than my Shoei.
I've read some reviewers that complain about noise from the forehead vents, and it seems to be highly dependent on your riding position; with the head down in more of a sport bike "attack" position, the vents whistle noticeably, but in a more standard bike riding position, the noise disappeared. Note that I wear earplugs when riding, so there may be noise that I'm not hearing...
The Bullitt has a HUGE eye port, much larger than my Shoei, or any other full face helmet that I've ever seen. I noticed a major increase in peripheral vision with the first left turn out of my neighborhood, a really nice thing. The chin bar is much lower than on my Shoei, practically out of view; it's almost like riding with a 3/4 helmet with a flat shield. This is a new experience for me, as I've never owned an open-faced helmet, but now I understand why they're so popular. In fact, when it warms up, I look forward to trying out my new goggles with this helmet. It'll be interesting to try riding with goggles on the street; I've only done so on a dirtbike before. It should be even more like riding with an open faced helmet. I'll let you know.
The interior of my black helmet is a beautifully finished brown leather, with a red leather pull tab on the d-ring. There's also a very effective snap at the end of the chinstrap, which keeps the strap in place. One of my pet peeves with my Shoei was that the strap is really long, with no retention system. This often results in it flapping annoyingly at speed.
I found the helmet interior to be quite snug, but it felt great after about 15 minutes. I expect it'll feel even better as the leather breaks in. The one complaint I had is that the neck roll leaves a rather small opening to put your head into, meaning that it felt as if I was going to tear my ears off the first time I put it on. Hopefully, this will get easier as things break in. Fitting my glasses in was quite easy once the helmet was on, so if you prefer sunglasses to wearing a shield or goggles, this is a viable option.
Overall, I'm really pleased with the helmet so far. It is beautiful, and seems to function really well for what I need. I'll do an update this summer; by then it should be breaking in a bit, and the hot Arizona summer will provide a good test of its ventilation!

The helmet is really cool, it's shape it's retro and it protects very good. I got the mate black and it looks really great with my bike. For starters I am a rounded face shape and the helmet was a bit tight at the beginning but after using a few times then it just easy. At 60 mph it can get a bit loud but not too much. I discovered, and I hope BELL notices this, that there is a lot of noise coming from around the neck area, from the bottom. Once I put my hand on the upper helmet, and push it down, I was able to cancel a lot of noise but it's not safe to ride like that. Overall, I love the helmet and the visor I bought with it too.

Form and Function
I had my sights on the Bullitt for a while but when they came out with this cream paint scheme I decided I had to pull the trigger. The paint looks fantastic. I know all the talk about this helmet is about the retro style but I really bought it for its functionality. The fact that she's so purdy is just a bonus. Riding for me is about freedom and not being confined and sticking my head in a full face bucket was in direct conflict with that. The Bullitt is for me the best compromise between the wide open feel of an open faced helmet and the added protection of a full face. It's super light and the field of view is amazing. I thought the bubble shield would be too retro for my taste and I would switch it out, but functionally, I'll have to say that I really like it. It adds to the open feel and I haven't had any problems with fogging.
On the downside, the liner rides up on my forehead when I put it on and I have to wriggle the helmet around a little to get it in place. The fit isn't perfect for my longish oval head but close enough. I have a Bell 500 that was a bit hot on my forehead but eventually broke in comfortably. The Bullitt fits better out of the box. The vents do whistle which is a shame but not a deal breaker for me since I always wear ear protection.

Ultimate retro styling but a bit on the expensive side
First of all, this helmet has all the retro style and coolness you could ask for, but with all the modern features. The fit is comfortable and true to size. I am very satisfied with the overall construction and quality of the helmet. I will say that all the other reviews are accurate in that it is quite loud at higher speeds. I was lucky enough to get this helmet on sale and am very happy with the price point, but probably wouldn't have the same feeling if I'd paid the full $399. All in all, this is an extremely stylish helmet, perfect for that cafe racer look, but a bit on the expensive side.
