AGV Horizon Absolute Helmet

The design of the AGV Horizon largely reflects that of the Stealth SV, which it replaces in the line. Inspired by the lines that have characterized the innovations by AGV for several years now, it features a narrow, streamlined chin guard, the channels in the shell (derived from the IVS used in the RACE helmets), evident lines and edges on the sides. The spoiler adds an aggressive and dynamic touch to the design and improves the ventilation, aerodynamics and stability of the helmet. The removal of the holes and lateral grids not only gives the helmet a more compact look, but has made it possible to reduce turbulence and improve the aerodynamics.

  • Ventilation System: IVS (Integrated Ventilation System) with channels formed directly in the outer shell and dynamic system with air vents and rear extractors
  • Interior: Dry-Lex with sanitizing treatment
  • Internal Padding: Completely removable and washable
  • Removable chin curtain and breath deflector included
  • Faceshield: GT2 clear visor in optical class 1
  • Faceshield: Non-scratch and anti-fog polycarbonate with 100% protection from UV radiation
  • Visor Mechanism: XQRS (Extra Quick Release System) visor removal and replacement without tools in just a few seconds
  • Internal Sunshield: Drop down ISV (Internal Sun Visor) is non-scratch and anti-fog polycarbonate
  • Retention System: Double D
  • Safety Certification: DOT and ECE 22.05

overall, a well designed helmet this was the most comfortable helmet I have tried on. until I fastened the chin strap and found the buckle was wedged between the cheek pad and my jaw bone. I think the strap needs to be a little longer. because of that irritation, I had to return an otherwise great helmet April 30, 2013

Answer: 
The AGV Horizon helmet does not have a shield lock mechanism. The shield is held closed with detentes, or tooth, mechanisms.

The shield on the AGV Horizon Absolute Helmet does lock in place when it is closed all the way.
