AGV AX-8 EVO Naked Carbon Helmet Videos

AGV AX8 EVO Naked Helmet

The AGV AX-8 EVO Naked Carbon Fiber Helmet is the street version of the AX-8 DS EVO, but with a full carbon fiber chassis and no peak. By removing the peak, you reduce drag.

Less drag x less weight = ∞ fun.

The AGV AX-8 EVO Naked features internal padding with increased thickness for improved comfort and greater stability. The carbon fiber shell construction makes for an extremely light weight helmet and the shape for the outer shell in the chin area combined with a wider and softer base edge reduces interference with any back protector used and decreases risks of impact traumas, thanks to its "shock-absorber" function.

  • Carbon fiber shell construction
  • IVS (Integrated Ventilation System) funnels air though channels in the outer shell
  • Flat face shield in non-scratch, antifog polycarbonate
  • Dry-Lex internal padding with sanitized treatment
  • Removable and washable cheekpads and internal lining
  • 3 shell sizes
  • DOT and ECE 22.05 Certified

AGV AX-8 EVO Naked Carbon Helmet 4.7 5 10 10
Lightweight, and exceptional visibility My previous helmet had a sun visor, cheek air-bladders, and quick removable shield. I was worried because this one has none of those things, but I've come to find out they're thongs I don't need. I love the visibility this helmet has. Coupled with the light weight makes wearing it feel almost like going without a helmet. This is what happens when you sacrifice those "features" above. It's just a quality, focused helmet that does exactly what it's supposed to do extremely well. The carbon fiber version I got is probably not necessary because it doesn't save much weight, but I must say I really like it anyway. It's just cool. And finally, I never knew what "good ventilation" actually meant before I got this helmet. Opening and closing vents ACTUALLY makes a noticeable difference. And I'm no longer flipping up my face shield at every stoplight. September 28, 2015
excellent The AGV AX-8 EVO Naked Carbon Helmet is very, very light, very comfortable, and it looks aggressive: what's not to like? September 7, 2015
Amazing Helmet This helmet just makes me happy, simply put. The airflow while moving is exceptional. The special moisture wicking fabric and padding used versus the average helmet is really nice. The vision is gold. And the fact that the face shield comes with anti-fog is awesome too. Not to mention how simply awesome this helmet looks! (You definitely need to buy the smoke face shield to go with it though.) It does have a bit of noise, but nothing bad in my opinion, and it is a bit narrow, but that also fits me perfectly. The only real reason not to buy this helmet (other than you not liking the style. In which case I'm not sure why you're reading reviews on it) is the price. In all fairness though, anything over your $150 HJC helmet is for comfort, quality, features, and looks anyway. The helmet purely for protection train left a long while ago, but I promise you that you will like this one a lot better anyway. You might be able to find a better helmet for this price with better features, as some have suggested, but you definitely won't be disappointed with this helmet at all. I 100% recommend it, unless what it offers just isn't the helmet for you. September 4, 2015
Light and Airy This helmet looks great, and is super light. The fit is a little snug on the ears and you may need to reach in to push them back straight after you put it on. It was also a little difficult to get my Sena to fit, since there are no pockets for speakers like my AGV horizon. It vents a lot of air and even more with the mesh face piece installed, but the helmet tends to be loud on the highway. The rear pad also tends to dislodge from its snaps if I try to wear a Balaclava or skull cap, due to the way it snaps in August 31, 2015
Awesome helmet!!! Super happy with this purchase. Sizing was just like it said and visibility is great too. I may be wrong about my interpretation of noise levels, but there's a bit of wind noise. Helmet is super comfortable and gets great venting especially with the front mouth guard open. And the thing is stylish! Every time I put it on I feel like I'm about to go start up a fighter jet and do some air-to-air combat. Highly recommended. June 8, 2015
Great helmet, would definitely recommend for street riding This helmet is great for regular use. Pros : 1. Snug fit, will not move around at all. 2. Extremely good air flow. 3. Wide vision. 4. Really, really light. 5. Aggressive styling geared towards street riders. Cons : 1. Changing face is a pain. I really wish this had been a quick release shield. 2. In colder climates, there's quite a bit of airflow inside the helmet, even with all the vents closed. Something to consider. I'm still trying to track down where it's coming from, but it seems to be from a little hole just above the mouth vent. June 1, 2015
Great helmet. Very impressed Where to start with this helmet? Let's start with the obvious. This is by far one of the best looking helmets out there now. The weight is so light. Match the weight with the great vision of view and it doesnt even feel like you're wearing a helmet when riding. Fit is nice and snug. Perfect for people with a more narrow shaped head. Air flow is decent. Can be a little noising when it's windy out. I thought this helmet was a little pricing before buying, but after my first ride with it, I feel that its worth every penny. Great helmet. Can't go wrong with this one. April 20, 2015
Great helmet for everyday riding The helmey is definitely designed for a little more upright motorcycles. The only draw back for me is that when the face shield is up, I am looking through the two pieces that drop to left and right of the nose. These cause a slightly distorted view, but if you sit more upright, you would not be looking through them. Also, the helmet catches a little bit of wind. I ride a gsxr, so there would be better helmets for that. But I love the visibility, and the fit. Extremely light, and very quiet. I like the removable interior, and the comfort/support of the pads. Also very much enjoy the looks of it. I would definitely buy this again. March 16, 2015

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Steve V: Liked the technical features explained in the RevZilla product video. Turns out this helmet fits perfectly and is 8oz (1/2 pound!!!) lighter than my 2 year old Arai Signet-Q (long oval) helmet. Aug 3, 2015
Sahil R: Looks badass, and provides all the protection I need. The only downside to this helmet imo is changing the shields is a pain. May 18, 2015
Ryan M: Lightweight and quiet Feb 19, 2015
John f: a deer jumped in front of me and i went down hard, i got a concussion but the helmet took the worst of the hit and saved my life. the visor didn't serve a purpose for me so i decided to go with the naked version but the matte is a little too plain so i decided to go with the carbon. my last ax-8 weighed nearly nothing so the little bit of weight reduction isn't really a factor, just a bonus Nov 29, 2014

Austin R asked: I wanted to know if the Sena 20s would fit inside this helmet. As per the video there may need to be some bit of modification to the cheek padding, but I wanted to know how much modification/how much of a struggle it would be to make it fit.

Also, would the Sena 20s fit better than a SMH-15? It appears that the 20s is sleeker and therefore better for this helmet

Thanks so much!

A shopper asked: Can you throw a peak on here with those holes? Nov 20, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
John C: The actual helmet doesn't have the holes as the helmet in Revzilla's pics portray (I bought the helmet about a month ago). I reached out to AGV directly to inquire about if there were different versions of the helmet made and they said the Carbon was never made with the holes for the peak...too bad! Dec 8, 2014

Larry V asked: Hey, does anyone have experience with this helmet on a sports bike? Would greatly appreciate your details of experiencing this on a sports bike. I ride an R1 and love the aesthetics as well as the brand. I ride at high speeds but rare am fully tucked to the extent that my chin is grazing the tank. Sep 18, 2015

landon p: I bought the AGV AX-8 EVO Naked this past March and still ride with it. I still love it and think the aesthetics of it are awesome. I ride a naked bike myself, 2014 Streetfighter, and think this helmet goes really well with it. Visibility seems pretty good. Overall helmet size. not necessarily fit, seems a bit larger than the normal full face motorcycle helmets, but weight-wise it's pretty light. Fit-wise, I think I'm normally a medium in other brands, but I got a large in this helmet and I think if anything it might be a tad too big, but not enough for me to really notice. The front mouth vent really just vents air directly on to your mouth I've noticed. Air flowing through there doesn't really reach the other parts of the face and I can't say that I really notice the venting on the top of the helmet. Since I'm on a naked bike with a more upright ride I do seem to notice some wind coming up through the bottom, but again not enough for me be irritated.

Overall, I really enjoy my Naked Carbon and I think you will too. The thing just looks awesome...especially if you put a smoke face shield on it. Hope this helps!

Diego Brian G: The helmet is super comfortable and looks amazing, but at really high speed mine starts to wobble a it. Maybe it's the sizing or it could be remedied with additional padding, but I guess this is where you notice the difference between the street and the track versions of this helmet (one is usd 1k cheaper than the other). If I'm planning to go stupid fast, I'll take a racier helmet that day. Sep 20, 2015

Michael G: yup yup ...works great...well ventilated....good field of vision, I assuming your worried about wind shear....cuts right thru the wind...no noise...however if you turn your head at higher speeds..it does buffer a bit...looks great with smoked visor...worth every penny...very happy with it....Ninja 650 Sep 18, 2015

Abraham M: I have this helmet. I ride a Yamaha FZ-09. I'm sitting straight up compared to an R-1. This helmet is designed to cut through the wind in this riding position. I found this to be true from 75 mph to 110. I love this helmet. I would buy it again. Sep 19, 2015

A shopper asked: I was wondering if anyone knew where i could get a yellow shield for this helmet ?
I was also wondering if I could get a rear spoiler for this agv ax8 carbon?

Paul D: I purchased a dark tint shield with the helmet. A yellow shield? I did a quick bing/google search and found just tinted shields. And a spoiler? I have no idea if such a thing is made for this helmet. But I like mine just fine. Jun 20, 2015

Fernando A asked: I got and Triumph Speed Triple and I was wondering, what is the best naket helmet out there for wind buffering? I got a shoe 1200 and is pretty good on till I'm going up wind about 70 and above on the highway, is there any other helmet out there that could take more wind blast? Jul 18, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Abraham M: I have been nothing but pleased with the performance of my AGV AX-8 Naked Carbon Helmet. I commute to work daily on my FZ-09 Yamaha. Speeds are ususally are at 70+ mph. This helmet works as advertised. I can not make a comparrison between the AVG and your Shoei as I have never worn that make or model. I love my AGV AX-8 EVO Naked Carbon Helmet! Jul 20, 2015
Reply to Abraham Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Paul S: Fernando...up wind at 70+ on a naked bike such as Triple Speed, mmmmm, no helmet will help you. I have several from HJC, Shoei, and the AXO carbon fiber. Only a windscreen will reduce the blast with any noticeable improvement. Jul 18, 2015
Reply to Paul Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Sahil R: If you want complete wind buffering, I'd recommend against this helmet. This helmet provides a good amount of airflow reduction, but I still found a lot of air circulating inside while riding. Jul 20, 2015

landon p asked: I have a size large Icon Mainframe from 2008. That's the only size comparison I currently have to go off. Do you have any recommendations what size would work for me with a AGV AX-8 Evo Naked Carbon Helmet? What about thoughts on if I add the SENA SMH 10R Bluetooth system and how much that will affect the ear fit? Feb 28, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
John C: I owned an ICON Monster Helmet size "Large" and had to purchase a size XL AGV AX-8 Evo Naked Carbon Helmet.

I have a few AGV helmets and none of them have a cut-out in the area of the ear, so unless you do some cutting of your own, you'll likely have fitment issues with the ear speakers of the SENA Bluetooth system.

Paul D: I have the AX8 Naked Carbon helmet size large. My head measures 23 1/2" around. The fit is snug. But from my years of road racing and drag racing that is the way I want it. It probably will not come off in a crash, which I have seen happen many many times.
My AGV Corsa fits right about the same.
This Evo is easily the lightest helmet I have, so I'll likely wear it a lot.
Adding some kind of sound system will make things even tighter I think.
I don't use that stuff. I concentrate on and enjoy the ride.

james v: If you wear a large icon this helmet will fit about the same in a large but they have replacement padding if it doesn't fit to you perfectly. I have mounted a smh10r on my helmet and mounting the speakers behind the padding didn't change the feeling of the helmet at all and the speakers are more than loud enough even at highway speeds. A shopper asked: good for street riding?? Jan 22, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
james v: It's a great street riding the helmet doesn't block your peripheral vision much airflow is great. Keep in mind a smoked visor is about 80 bucks the clear visor that comes with it isn't the best esthetically, may just be my preference. It is a bit loud but I prefer a louder helmet, it may be a fault if you ride a longer distance. But overall it is a fantastic helmet and I would recommend it to any of my friends. Jan 22, 2015

S M: Yes I think it is the perfect helmet for street riding, the field of vision is probably the best you will see out of a street helmet and it is very light which are two key ingredients for urban riding. Jan 22, 2015

Phillip d asked: Will this helmet work in 3/4 or full tuck? May 17, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
james v: Works well in full tuck I ride a dual sport so I normally wear it rotated down a bit, but while riding a friends cbr required me to position the helmet a bit different to get a good tuck. Very versatile helmet. Only small complaint is wind noise above 60, which is easily fixed by some earplugs. May 18, 2015
Reply to james Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Diego Brian G: The visor is vertically very wide, so both a 3/4 or a full tuck position will be comfortable May 17, 2015

Fernando T asked: Hi:

Do you have this helmet in ML size or is it only on the old size nomenclature? I would be on the ML category according to the AGV site. I use L size on Nolan and Airoh Helmets, would L size fit me on this model? Another thing, in the AGV site the helmet is named Fury Carbon and has a camo pattern on it. Does this model has the same graphic on it or is it a different model since the picture doesn't show any graphic. Thanks.

A shopper asked: Hey, I was wondering the if the AGV AX-8 Naked Carbon Evo could be worn without the visor and instead use mx goggles? Thanks Feb 16, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (1)
Nathan K: Unfortunately I haven't used the goggles. I also would prefer to use goggles as the visor is good enough and there is no reason to put goggles.

On the one hand, it wouldn't hurt to try it out and tell us your experience.

Thank you.
