I had to have a decent pair of riding shoes. The Sidi Doha where perfect for what I needed casual ride, stop to run inn and out of stores and just do your every day errands. They are fairly comfortable to walk in for short amounts of time. They do not exactly look like motorcycle shoes, just a pair of high tops which I like a lot. Look good with jeans. As for riding they have good support and traction on pegs, ankles feel well supported and boot is a little stiff around the ankle but they are new. Not much air flow through boot. Heal and toe are well protected and I like the soles. The Sidi Doha seem to be durable have done about 100 miles on them and they still look new.

I wanted a pair of riding shoes that I could wear at work and these a fashionable enough to achieve that goal. I spray them periodically with waterproofing spray for sneakers, thus they can repel water.

These boots aren't cheap, but overall they're a good value if comfort and quality are important to you.
I bought these after I did a number on my achilles tendon and couldn't get into my normal riding boots. These Sidi's were the only ones which I could manage to get my foot into; as I NEEDED to ride I forked out the bucks for a pair of Doha's. Little did I know that they would become my favorite boots to ride in, now long after my tendon has healed. They are super comfortable, and I can wear them on and off the bike all day long. For around town street riding they can't be beat, although for long high speed trips I do put on boots with more ankle protection--still, these are way more protective than non-motorcycle shoes/boots. They look good too, which isn't unimportant if you want an all day shoe like I do.
Sizewise they run about 1/2 size smaller than i normally wear, finding that I took a 12 1/2 instead of a 12.

I wanted a low cut boot to wear at a large rally where I work and ride about 900 miles and also do a considerable amount of walking.
I liked the looks of the Doha but had some concerns: they were not waterproof; the laces could catch on the bike, and would they provide good support. I received them just before the rally and wore them every day. On days I thought it might rain I wore a pair of waterproof over-socks inside the boots. I was able to triple tie the laces and tuck the knot under the velcro strap so there was no loop to catch on the bike. Last but not least the boot has a very rigid sole and rigid heel cup and toe area that provide excellent support so I felt safe wearing them. They were also very comfortable to walk in. I'm very satisfied with my Doha's and glad I purchased them.

What a great commuter or all around on road boot

What an excellent commuter or all around on road boot. I recently bought these boots and used them for three days worth of commuter riding to work on roads. I found them to be comfort right out of the box with no pinching or sore spots. I really like the look of these boots and they go great with a pair of jeans. These are easy on, easy off boots. They provide enough ankle support, given it's not a full-size leather boot. Although I sit at a desk most of the day at work, I experienced no discomfort at all when I did walk around. I would definitely recommend this boot to anyone looking for style, comfort, support, and great quality in a non-full size boot. Another great product Revzilla. Thanks Chris

These are comfortable for a motorcycle boot. I can't give you a comparison, these are my first set of boots. I ain't mad, the price is a little steep.

I bought these to replace my stolen Icon Field Armor boots. They are super comfortable, and don't look too ridiculous. I crash tested them, though, in a low speed drop. My ankle is still broken. I landed on carpet. Imagine if I'd fallen at high speeds on pavement. You're really not much better off with these than with a pair of basketball shoes.

Mike I have had my new Sidi Doha boots for a couple of weeks. I do like them they are a pair of well padded high tops with a little extra support and some nice soles. Its just extra padding everywhere.

Answer: 
There is hard part protection (plastic composite, I believe) that covers the ankle for this boot. You can actually see it in the picture from the outside of the boot. It is the piece that contains the SIDI logo.
