Sidi Discovery Rain Boots

  • Membrane equipped to add a water resistant yet breathable barrier between the elements and the rider’s feet.
  • Soft rubber sole for maximum grip.
  • Replaceable strap system.
  • Top grain leather and Lorica construction.
  • Composite inner sole. Removable arch support.
  • Exclusive cam-lock buckle system.
  • Cambrelle lining Slim, cool non-bootie design.
  • Rigid, shock resistant, anatomically shaped heel for maximum protection.
  • Split grain leather inner anti-wear/heat panel.

Non-Bootie Designs: Sidi boots do not incorporate inner booties into their design, and for good reason. Booties make the design larger and cumbersome; add to the boot's thickness, which interferes with shifting, plus the inner booties retain body heat affecting the rider's performance and comfort.

Buckles: Sidi’s exclusive cam-lock buckle system is acknowledged as the finest system on the planet. It must be as most of Sidi’s competitors have attempted to copy various aspects of it. The cam-lock buckle system incorporates a strap memory retention system. Adjust the straps once and they will be at the same position for every ride after that! No more readjusting for every ride or mid-day during a ride.

Heat Shields: Each Sidi boot is equipped with an anti-heat undressed leather protection panel at the same height of most motorcycle’s exhaust heat shields.

Replaceable Parts: Every bolt on component of each Sidi off road boot is available separately. Riders can change the various components to replace items that have worn or have been damaged in a crash or to make a custom colored boot to match his/her personal taste.

Composite Insole: A cushioned liner is provided that can be removed if the rider desires a more roomy fit. Sidi does not use steel shanks riveted to its insole like most manufactures, details such as this enable Sidi boots to enjoy a multi year service life versus the competitors multi month lifespan as over time, a steel shank can deteriorate, rust and fracture exposing the rider to injury.

Lining: Cambrelle is a lining that, due to its particular polyimide structure, guarantees a rapid drying rate after the boot gets wet or sweaty. This prevents the onset of mold forming which extends the boots lifespan dramatically. The Teflon treated mesh panels in the rear calf area of the boot allow humidity to escape while the boot is in use.

poor ankle support! Not enough ankle support for off road riding, There also a little too pricey for the lack of features! Twisted my ankle once and recently broke my ankle badly while wearing these boots off road! The only good thing is they'll keep your feet fairly warm and dry! February 12, 2015
Excellent Boot These boots were snug for the first few times that I wore them, but then worn in and are now very comfy. The boots have good protection, held up in rain, overall I am very happy with them. August 17, 2014
Great adventure boot I bought the Discovery Rain with the A-Star Scout so I could compare them side-to-side. I kept the SIDI boot because the buckles felt far more substantial, the flat sole made sense to me for less restriction when standing on the pegs, and the I liked the way the cuff seals to the rider's leg. Received the boots on Thursday and left on Friday for a 400-mile 100% offroad ride on north GA forest service roads and mountain trails. Post ride-review: Boots were fantastic. Never let in a drop after several river crossings. I was afraid they were going to be a bit hot and sweat-inducing, but was surprised that my feet never felt like they were in a steam oven. I got one hot spot on my shin where a fold in the new leather was rubbing but even that went away with some strategic double layering of my socks. All-in-all, 100% satisfied with this boot. Side note: had never ordered any product from Revzilla before. Holy cow, customer service was/is fantastic. I'm definitely going to be a repeat customer.. August 5, 2014
Excellent Boots I purchased these boots for daily wear/commuting and touring. My reasons for purchasing these boots were (in no particular order): Protection, comfort, versatility, value, and durability/reparability. Comfort: I have worn the boots in temperatures varying from 28 – 85 degrees Fahrenheit and they are extremely comfortable for both riding and walking in. Starting at 80 degrees Fahrenheit my feet/lower legs begin to get a bit sweaty, but do not feel hot. The boots are completely waterproof up to the top of the inner gauntlet. Break In: The boots are somewhat stiff out of the box, but break in easily with regular wear. Unlike some other reviewers, I found no need to make any adjustments to my motorcycle’s foot controls. Sizing: I purchased size US 11 (EUR 45, UK 10.5, JAP 28) and they fit perfectly. My typical shoe/boot size is US 11.0-11.5, depending upon the manufacturer of the footwear. The buckles are easily adjustable for length, so customizing the fit of the boot to your feet/lower leg is quick and easy. I also own a pair of well fitting Alpinestars SMX boots in size EUR 45. I would recommend these boots without reservation, as there is nothing that I do not like about the boots. June 1, 2014
Great boot! Comfortable Been riding the boot for a few months now and it has been great. It is water proof as a few solid rain rides have proven as well as an offroad trip where some extensive water crossings were made. If you flood it it's also great at holding in water but those are the perils of deeper crossings :) It is comfortable, easy on/off and setting up the buckles only once is really nice. Going on a big journey in two weeks that'll really put them to the test! I tried a foot bed to fill them out a touch more but it made them too tight. They are close to fine without it but just a little bit roomy. Still comfortable though with no hot spots. August 12, 2013
If you are on a budget and need to save a few pennies these boots are a nice compromise I ordered the boots a half size bigger thinking if they run big I can just add a comfort sole to take up the extra room. This has worked for me in the past. Even with the extra sole they are a bit loose so order your size. That said they are breaking in nicely and feel fine on the bike. These are not the boots you want to walk around in all day but walking around a rally for an hour or two will not kill you. They do not have extra ankle armour or removable bits but again they are a compromise. All in all they are sturdy and seem to give ample protection. I have not had a chance to see how water proof they are. So far so good. May 27, 2013
Very good boots! I wear these boots for adventure riding year round and offroad in the winter here in Washington state. My feet stay warm and dry, except when water has entered over the top of the boot. I would like alittle more protection, but they may lose some of their comfort. Boots are very comfortable. Boots have over 500 miles and are wearing well. January 14, 2013
Excellent heavy duty Adventure boot Very pleased with the comfort and walk-ability of these boots. Have ridden thru some 2 feet deep creek crossings feet stayed dry and warm. I also like the stable feel the sole gives when standing on the pegs. Closures are a bit tricky to set up but once you do they make the boot feel very secure. One thing that I am extremely pleased with is being able to shift and brake both seated and standing and being able to feel and locate the pedals easily which has been an issue with other Enduro Boots I've used November 12, 2012

kevin d: These boot are water proof/wind proof . My feet stay warm in the winter and breath well in summer months . Easy too walk in after a short break in . SIDI is like RevZilla top drawer!! Apr 2, 2015
Peter Jay J: Survival and safety on the road. I ride mainly on highways at high speeds Nov 29, 2014
Brad B: Purchased these as my first off road boot. They break in very nice, and worked well until I started to ride more aggressive terrain. The supple leather was just not stiff enough for truly hard terrain unless you are an "A" rider and never put your feet down. I upgraded to the crossfire 2 for true off road and now wear these for dual sport level rides. Oct 29, 2014
Christopher C: I choose these because I am a trials rider that is looking for the perfect boot for technical enduro riding too. Jul 9, 2014
William C: Needed a boot for a mix of road and and off-road riding. This boot is a good all-around boot. May 4, 2014
Cecilia M: I bought them for my husband because he likes the quality construction and materials, and he like the "trials-style" sole which allows for easy movement on the pegs. Feb 28, 2014

Billy H: I was looking for a good adv boot that was waterproof and liked the look of these - they also have consistent good reviews. My review is short and to the point, I will re-sole these until they fall apart and if/when they fall apart, I will buy another pair. Sep 11, 2013
Steve h: The guys I ride with love them, quality comfort and performance Aug 19, 2013
A shopper asked: Is the sole on the Discovery Rain replaceable? May 24, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
RevZilla: Although the soles on these boots can be replaced by a cobbler, they would not be with original Sidi soles as they are not available separately. A cobbler would likely have to custom-fit a set of their stock soles should they need to be replaced.

It may also be possible to contact Sidi directly for repairs. Please consult their warranty policy at the link. http://www.sidiamerica.com/sidi/sidi_warranty.html

Lee S: l just returned from a 10 day trip to the Blue Ridge Mtns, where l wore these boots all day every day. We took some long walks, wore them around camp, as well as riding and they were pretty comfortable. Not as comfortable as sneakers, but for a riding boot l am pleased with the comfort. We rode in the rain on the return trip and l am delighted to say l arrived home last night with warm dry feet. For the $$ l think this is an excellent value in a boot.
My girl friend bought a pair shortly before we left, they break in easily, and she too was pleased with her new boots.

A S asked: How do these compare to the Aerostich combat touring boots? Apr 1, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
THOMAS B: I can't give you a direct comparison as I only have these, but I can tell you they are very comfortable, and so far have resisted the SIDI squeak. I took the metal tips off the toes as they didn't do me any good, and were causing issues with traction on my toes... Apr 1, 2015

T L: I have not worn the Aerotech, but the SIDI are comfortable water resistant, if you dab a foot in a puddle your getting wet even if you don't go over the boot top. Light rain they do okay with. However they are comfortable to wear all day. They do get a little warm in the summer but if you take a couple of breaks and open em up they are ok. Apr 1, 2015

Glenn G: Not having owned the Aerostitch boots, I cannot make a comparison. However, it is my understanding the Aerostitch boots are made by SIDI as well, but I chose the Discovery boots because the hard plastic on the shin area afford more protection. I can say that my Discovery boots are comfortable whether riding or walking around. Apr 1, 2015

A shopper asked: My size boot is 7.5 ee would I fit this boot ? May 30, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Brad B: Out of all the Sidi boots I have had (5 different boots) these and the canyon touring boots are the roomiest. I have a more narrow foot, but my foot swims in the disco's and the canyons. The Crossfire 2's fit more narrow as do the Vortice. Best advice is just to order a pair if you can't try them on locally since they have a great return policy. Jul 19, 2014

Matthew B: Hi, google the euro shoe size chart that compares us sizes and euro sizes. Sidi boots come in euro sizes. Example: a sidi size 43 euro fits me. I take a 9.5 us boot. Get it? May 30, 2014

A shopper asked: Is the metal toe cap removable? Feb 26, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: Yes, the metal toe cap is removable. The 2 year warranty, though, would be void if damage arose from removing it, or damage that came from not having that piece in place. We also suggest the Adventure Rain for a rider that wants the Discovery Rain but not the metal toe. Or, the Sidi Trial Zero is another option, which is practically the same model as the Discovery Rain but without the Rain liner...and the toe piece. Feb 27, 2013
