Icon Airframe Helmet - Silver
Good but not great
I received the helmet two days after I ordered it so that was a nice surprise. The first thing I noticed was how stylish the helmet looks in person. There are a few spots that offer ventilation that which you can open or close. The only issue I have with the ventilation is that the mouth section is pretty small. If it was larger it would help out a lot more on hot days. The visor on the helmet fits okay but is not flush against the helmet when closed. This causes some additional noise while riding. I am going to order a reflective visor to help with the sun so hopefully that will help. Overall this is a good helmet for the price.

My first helmet
I was searching around for a good helmet but for a low price. I was new to riding and I know protection doesn't have a price tag. I found this airframe, love the style. I got the rubatone black and it is very sleek. At first the helmet was tight, after awhile it got loose. I don't really know much since I'm new, but this helmet works for me.

Really nice helmet
This is my first helmet and I really like it, I got the rubatone one with the gold proshield and it looks sick, it really comfortable and light and the airflow is great. The only complaint i have about it is that it can be kind of loud.

Great helmet, except for the face shield.
This is a great helmet. Lots of airflow, great fit and very comfortable. Note: Because of the airflow this helmet is a bit louder than most. The only real gripe I have with this is that the faceshield is very easily scratched. I have always used either very soft cloths or, as recommended by icon, the included helmet bag and no matter how gentle I was it got scratched. I have to buy another one now and for $40 they are not super cheap. Other than that, great product.

Great quality for your money
2nd helmet that has awesome quality. It can be loud at high speeds and not good for the rain but overall an awesome helmet. That is very safe.

I went by there size chart and ordered a LG at first. Ended up with a 2XL. I also bought the dark tint visor. Good option. Switching the visor out is pretty easy. It has to be lined up perfectly though. Also it fells like the side panels are gonna snap off when they're removed. The visors are pretty tough and flexible though. Fairly light and good aerodynamics. Super comfy and cool. Flows air great!!

This helmet saved my life.
I was wearing this helmet when I hit a deer, and it saved my life.
As for when it's not hitting the pavement at high speed, it's comfy, doesn't catch air when you turn your head, very well ventilated, and looks sharp to boot.
It is quite noisy when you open the bottom vents, so earplugs are recommended, but when they are closed it's not bad at all and it's got a small built-in chin skirt, so it's decently well protected against noise from underneath. .
I personally don't think much of the proshield, because if it's loose enough that you can actually operate it with one hand, there is really no point to that lock, and if it's tight enough that it's working it takes more force to pull up the shield than it takes to take it off your head unless you use two hands. Safe, but really inconvenient.

Good for the price, but avoid Rubatone.
I like Icon's gear, have several pieces including an Airframe helmet with the rubatone finish which looks badass, but over time the finish comes off and looks really bad. Even following cleaning instructions and handling as carefully as possible, the rubatone has been peeling off for the last 6 out of 9 mos. that I've had it. Looks like skin a few days after a bad sunburn, peeling in random areas. Even contacted Icon with no response, thought about stopping by their headquarters an hour away from me to voice my dissatisfaction. I'd absolutely recommend avoiding the rubatone finish. The helmet is good for the price, and fits well. It does get a bit loud at highway speeds, and isn't very aerodynamic with side-winds despite working really well with head-winds. Also would recommend replacing faceplates about every 6 months, they scratch, flex, and scuff easily from normal use and bug strikes that after awhile it produces really bad glare from headlights (with clear lens at night) and direct sunlight (smoke lens at sunrise/sunset) occasionally impairing vision. Similar to using a starlight filter on a camera lens.
