Icon Airframe Helmet - Silver
Great quality for your money
2nd helmet that has awesome quality. It can be loud at high speeds and not good for the rain but overall an awesome helmet. That is very safe.

I went by there size chart and ordered a LG at first. Ended up with a 2XL. I also bought the dark tint visor. Good option. Switching the visor out is pretty easy. It has to be lined up perfectly though. Also it fells like the side panels are gonna snap off when they're removed. The visors are pretty tough and flexible though. Fairly light and good aerodynamics. Super comfy and cool. Flows air great!!

This helmet saved my life.
I was wearing this helmet when I hit a deer, and it saved my life.
As for when it's not hitting the pavement at high speed, it's comfy, doesn't catch air when you turn your head, very well ventilated, and looks sharp to boot.
It is quite noisy when you open the bottom vents, so earplugs are recommended, but when they are closed it's not bad at all and it's got a small built-in chin skirt, so it's decently well protected against noise from underneath. .
I personally don't think much of the proshield, because if it's loose enough that you can actually operate it with one hand, there is really no point to that lock, and if it's tight enough that it's working it takes more force to pull up the shield than it takes to take it off your head unless you use two hands. Safe, but really inconvenient.

Good for the price, but avoid Rubatone.
I like Icon's gear, have several pieces including an Airframe helmet with the rubatone finish which looks badass, but over time the finish comes off and looks really bad. Even following cleaning instructions and handling as carefully as possible, the rubatone has been peeling off for the last 6 out of 9 mos. that I've had it. Looks like skin a few days after a bad sunburn, peeling in random areas. Even contacted Icon with no response, thought about stopping by their headquarters an hour away from me to voice my dissatisfaction. I'd absolutely recommend avoiding the rubatone finish. The helmet is good for the price, and fits well. It does get a bit loud at highway speeds, and isn't very aerodynamic with side-winds despite working really well with head-winds. Also would recommend replacing faceplates about every 6 months, they scratch, flex, and scuff easily from normal use and bug strikes that after awhile it produces really bad glare from headlights (with clear lens at night) and direct sunlight (smoke lens at sunrise/sunset) occasionally impairing vision. Similar to using a starlight filter on a camera lens.

Best helmet i have owned
When i received the helmet in the mail and opened the box it came in, i was pleased to find out that the Airframe helmet is even better looking in person than it is in pix! The real surprise however, was when i put it on. Honestly, I havent worn a helmet as comfortable as this one in my 4 years of riding. Most helmets seem to be too wide or too narrow, but by using Icons measurement chart, I selected the helmet size according to that and it fit like it was made specifically for me! Its also noticeably lighter than my previous Scorpion Exo helmet and is a real treat on long rides. I give this helmet a 9.5 out of 10 overall. Only thing I might say against is that the airflow is a little less than i expected it to be, but nontheless, its better than most helmets ive owned.

I have had this helmet for over a year now, and cannot wait to replace it with a Shoei. The style, airflow, protection, and field of view are all on par, in my opinion, with $3-500 helmets. The GLARING design flaw is the eps foam shape and padding combo: The helmet presses against my forehead to the point of leaving an indention in my skin after 20 min rides. I would chalk it up to my headshape, but icon placed a big seam (i.e., an area of zero padding) exactly where the forehead contacts the helmet, which is a design flaw so ridiculous that it makes the helmet trash.
So, why keep it for so long? Well, like I said, I just assumed my head was the wrong shape. The final straw to me hating this helmet is that the padding in the helmet has degraded drastically over the past month and is now 10x less comfortable than before.
Overall, I think Icon did a poor job on their padding, which is (thankfully so far) the only aspect of the helmet Ive been able to really tesy out.
