best jacket ever

By William S. on January 25, 2010
Sizing:
Fits 1 size smaller
Pros:
Comfortable, Fashionable, Rugged, Great Value, Heavy rain proof, and Warm
Cons:
Comments:

I usually fit comfotably in a XXL this one is alittle snug although suprizingly comfortable . I have rdden twice now in heavy rain (even tissue in the pockets did not get wet) and fount no leaks. I have ridden 4 times in 30 degree weather and have remained toasty. No chance to ride in warm weather yet or without the liner but based on what I've seen so far I'm looking forward to it.

A Steal

Bought on closeout for $229.00. Now $200.00 at RevZilla. What a steal. Only relevant difference (to me) between this and the new model Rainier is the sleeve cuff vents and the $225. - $275. price difference . This jacket has zippered cuffs but the fabric web is not perforated for ventilation. Open the zippers, you'll still get some air. Can't tell you about the ventilation because I have only used it in the cold. Just got it and tested it on Rt. 95 at 75 mph on a naked bike...31 degrees after sundown. Wore an undershirt and long sleeve T under the coat. (No I am not nuts, I was testing.) It was actually fine. No drafts and warm. I could feel the shell starting to transfer/radiate the cold to the interior of the coat after a couple of exits but I could have gone quite a while. For a serious ride I would wear a base layer. I am not real sensitive to cold though. The camper in me is a sucker for cargo pockets so there is that too. Love the coat.
