Best mesh for the money I shopped quite a while before deciding on this jacket, and I'm glad I did. My requirements were: a lightweight mesh jacket that would flow well, not bake me on summer rides, low cut collar, nice fit and of course, attractive. This jacket fits all those nicely. The fit is spot on with other S&S jackets. I'm not sure how I feel about the moisture wicking liner, I have yet to ride with it in. June 5, 2013

Good protection and airflow. The fit on this jacket is spot on and the airflow is great. There is ample protection as well which coupled with the rest of the jackets features make it a great hot weather jacket for the street. December 17, 2012
Good summer jacket I used this jacket throughout the summer and spring in Florida and was very pleased with it. I am 5' 10" and 150lbs. and got the small. It fit well with room to spare in the stomach area. Lots of good adjustment closures but most effective if left as loose as possible. Love the inner pocket. Never really used the wicking liner. Just makes it hotter. But it's worth it to be protected. Not the toughest material but it's a summer jacket. Reasonable protection to airflowing ratio. Looks great in white and helps. Seems kind of dumb to get a black jacket for summer as black gets hotter. But the white gets dirty very easily. Maybe go with the hi viz yellow. All in all great value, great jacket! Perfect summer jacket. Looks really good in white! Follow the sizing chart and you will be ok! I do not like the protection. No padding inside them. The wicking liner is kind of useless! Remove it and be cooler. August 7, 2012
Wow I am 5'9" 180 lbs with a medium. The jacket fits very well. The pads are all in the right place, and the snaps on the sleeves and Velcro on the waist makes it fit your form very well. The airflow is excellent. I have rode with it on in 90 plus degree weather and not had an issue. The only complaint I have is when the zipper is all the way up you can feel it around your neck. great value This jacket performs just as you would want a mesh jacket to. Kept me nice and cool on a 90* degree day. I got the white so its not hot in the sun. I gave it mediu protection only because its mesh. The jacket does come with knox armor, which is great Size, I am 5'11" tall and weigh 270lbs and the 2X fits me pretty well. my only complaint is its a little short, but I do have a longer torso Features, I love the belt loops. The only feature id like to see is a second inside pocket June 24, 2012
Great Jacket This is my second jacket and first lightweight summer jacket. I wore this the first time the other day and it was 90 out and had no problem staying cool. the jacket is very lightweight and offers great protect on the highway. I bought a medium jacket and it seems to fit pretty well. a little short on the torso and a little short on the sleeves, but i can live with that. Im 5'11 and about 165 so it fits great throught he chest. Even with the size, i still give it 5 stars and would highly recommend this jacket. June 11, 2012

The Twist of Fate Mesh Jacket has an AR-800 construction while the Trial By Fire Mesh Jacket has AR-600. AR-800 AND AR-600 are the abrasion resistant materials that protect you against road rash. AR-800 is the better of the two.

Answer: 
The Twist of Fate jacket is heavier. The liner in the TOF goes all the way down the sleeves, the Trial by Fire has a vest type insert. Both inserts are made of the same under armor type material.

The armor in the TOF is better, which I believe is what makes it so much heavier. Honestly, the TOF felt heavier than my S&S textile jacket. I ended up buying the Trial by Fire and it is a great mesh summer jacket.
