Having bought this jacket at the start of a Canadian winter I have not had the chance to ride it yet. The fit and finish of the product is impeccable though and the styling I really love! I want to wear it all the time but my wife thinks that'd be lame.
My one concern is the padding. It has the size for good coverage but seems kind of finicky in its placement. I found trial and error to be the best way to get the best feel and two or three tries should have it feeling right.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I've had my Firstgear TPG Ranier for almost 4 years and it has been an excellent jacket. It's actually 2 jackets, because it comes with a lightweight inner jacket that zips in as a liner. I live in the Seattle area, and commute year round in this jacket. Without the inner jacket, you will stay dry and warm on short trips with temperatures at 40F or above. For long trips or temperatures below 40F, you'll definitely want the inner jacket too, and this will further help keep you dry. The outer jacket is very well ventilated, with two vents in front and two vents in the rear near the shoulders. It also has nice ventilation at the sleeves where your hands are. It will keep you comfortable up to about 90F. If you come to a stop in traffic, you'll be a little hot, but as soon as you start moving it's okay again. It's a great jacket for days when the temperature varies between 50F and 90F, as it can handle the extremes. Above 90F, I wouldn't recommend this jacket.
The jacket has a gazillion pockets, both external and internal, and several of them are waterproof. The zippers are very nice throughout, and I have not had any issues with this jacket after almost 4 years. It is a bit bulky with all the pockets, but for touring this is great. For a commuter jacket, you might consider the Teton instead, as it is very similar with fewer pockets, for a slightly sleeker look.
If you need to wash this jacket, you should do that carefully by hand so as not to destroy the Teflon, Scotchguard, of whatever it is that they used originally on the outer shell. My outer shell did start to retain a little more water after a couple years of daily use, but spraying Scotchguard or similar brings it back to new again.
For the price, this has got to be one of the best deals. Remember, it's 2 jackets, and more pockets than you'll know what to do with, not to mention waterproof.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I have been riding with this jacket for about 400 miles now in temperatures from 34 to 54 degrees. One day of heavy rain for about 45 minutes. Stayed completely dry. As for the 34 degree days reasonably warm with a heavy shirt and the liner in the jacket. I am 6'1 @ 220 and purchased XXL the Jacket fits perfect. I think the First Gear size chart put me at an XL. From what i read on other reviews these jackets run small. I have not road in any hot temperatures yet but I am guessing that without the liner this jacket should be some what comfertable in the 75 to 80 degree range with all the vents open.

The only negative to this jacket is the elbow room. I am 5' 10", 175 pounds (the body style at which this jacket is aimed) and even the XL is too small at the elbows. Bending the arms at any angle less than 135 degrees is uncomfortable, regardless of how the arm straps are set. Otherwise, this jacket is outstanding!

I'm new to the Sport touring world and have never looked at Jackets like this until recently. I do know comfort and quality though since I have tens of thousands of miles on bikes. This is absolutely an amazing Jacket. It fits well and is comfy. I haven't had it in any bad weather yet but i'm not worried. I would recommend this jacket to anyone.

This is my first FirstGear product and I also purchased the pants. Very nice design, tons of pockets. The sleeves are a little tight, but this is what is needed to keep the armor where it is needed. I bought a XLT I,m 6'1" and 190 with long arms and it fits great. If your a body builder you may want to go up a size as the sleeves are tight. Very nice jacket liner. I have ridden for 3 hours in the rain at 65F in just a t-shirt with the jacket liner, and was comfortable. Temperatures lower than 30F require additional heating or a large fairing. I have yet to use it off road so no comment there.

The jacket is great , went for my first ride with it last week end .The weater was fine but about 2 deg C and i just needed a shirt under it. Very comfortible. Only draw back is i have a big chest and sholders and got the 4xl but around the middle it is a bit loose and the justment strapes dont bring it in enough. i could of had the 3xl around the middle.
