Nice pants Really nice pants, although I haven't yet tried on heavy rain, it seems to be a very nice, well made product. Just one con, I have a small AST-1 Alpinestars pants, and this small Edge Drystar Pants that I bought was smaller than my AST-1. So if you plan to use overpants, think about one size bigger. Very nice pants! I am 5'10", 160lbs and wear a 32x32 in jeans. I bought the XL to use them as overpants. They fit perfectly when wearing them over a pair of jeans with a leather belt. The velcro waist adjustment allowed me to tailor fit how tight the waist is. When off the bike, they do touch the ground in the back, but when on the bike, they are the perfect length. Air flow is minimal, but I don't want airflow while it's raining. I rode through about 30 miles of rain with no problems. I was wearing the A-stars Koln jacket on top, but not zipped. I had no water to get through the pants. The waterproof pockets kept my phone and wallet dry. They were very comfortable on my 200 mile ride. March 27, 2012
It will keep you dry Great pair of pants if you have to commute or ride in the rain. They will keep you dry as advertised and are semi-breathable. Armor protection doesn't feel likes its enough so I plan on purchasing additional knee, hip and shin protection. Overall a good pair of pants for wet weather. March 18, 2012

Yes. The connection zippers on the Edge pants and Royal Drystar jackets are the same. If you have each item in the same size, the zippers should be identical. One thing to note is that the lengths of the zippers correspond to the size of the garment; for example, I just zipped together an XL Edge pant to a Medium Royal Drystar jacket and the jacket zipper was about 1 inch shorter than the pant but they still zipped together. Also, both the pants and jackets come with the corresponding "other half" of the zipper so you can have a tailor sew the other half to another garment for a more precise match.

Yes, these pants do have a 360 zip. The jacket side is included, in case you need to make your jacket compatible.

Nope. These have the 6" (8"?) zipper that mate w/ the other fieldshear products. Haven't needed it though, as they provide good coverage in the back and don't sag down.

Both Alpinestars and Dainese have fitted cuts. The Dainese options may be slightly taller, but otherwise there isn't too much difference.
