U-CLEAR HBC200 Force Bluetooth Communicator - Dual Pack Videos

UCLEAR HBC200 Dual Force Bluetooth Communicator

Featuring Boomless ABF Technology, the UCLEAR HBC200 Force introduces Super Group Intercom and Multi-Hop technology, specifically designed for group communications with full duplex intercom. Multi-hop technology, used in military tactical communications provides superior sound quality and connection stability over Bluetooth intercom systems that suffer from interference and are "line of sight" dependent. By incorporating Multi-hop technology, each Uclear HBC200 control unit works as a repeater or relay station, enabling the network to grow as more control units/riders are added to the group. Depending on riding conditions, the intercom range between two riders is up to 700 meters. Adding a third unit/rider increases the intercom range up to an additional 700 meters. Add a fourth rider and the entire group can communicate up to 2100 meters (1.3 miles) and so forth, in full duplex intercom mode.

With the latest firmware, the HBC200 adds connectivity with other brands of Bluetooth communicators, Multipoint Bluetooth connections for syncing multiple phones, iPods or GPS units and Advanced Private Intercom.

Features:

  • Boomless microphone (an industry first)
  • Music, Calls, GPS (Bluetooth devices)
  • Multipoint Bluetooth service supports dual device connections
    • Connect to two smartphones at the same time, or a smartphone and an iPad, iPod, GPS etc
  • Super Group Intercom (Full Duplex for up to 10 riders)
  • Open intercom with other brands of Bluetooth communicators
    • Cross-band intercom enables you to connect with other riders, even if they have another brand of communicator
  • Multi-Hop Communication Extender
    • With 10 users connected, Multi-Hop Technology extends maximum range to nearly 4 miles and allows non-line-of-sight connections (range will vary on environmental conditions)
  • Voice command for hands-free call pickup
  • Hi-Fi stereo audio (AVRCP, A2DP)
  • Patented ABF / DSP technology isolates your voice and eliminates all background noise
  • Auto loudness adjustments
  • GPS device compatible (Bluetooth HS/HFP profile required)
  • One USB/Wall charger, two USB cables (Dual pack only)
  • Easy installation on any helmet including full face or 3/4 helmets
  • Speaker diameter 40mm; depth approx 7mm
  • Firmware upgrades available
  • One year manufactures warranty

Note: Some of the features listed above require updating the firmware to the latest version. Download the latest version firmware here.

Excellent bluetooth solution I use my motorcycle as my primary vehicle during the riding season. I also travel a lot for work. This usually means that I have to stop at each gas station to check messages and answer missed calls. With the Uclear HBC200 and optional ear buds, I haven't missed a call yet! I use a Bell PitBoss open face helmet and the sound quality with the ear buds has been exceptional. Most of my clients never even know that I'm on a bike going 70MPH when they're speaking with me. Easily the best investment I've made to ensure riding instead of driving! April 12, 2014
No boom... love it The installation was not very difficult, but it is important to ensure the mike portion of the ear speakers point forward, so you will need to do some work to fit them in the helmet. They work perfectly, but if you are wanting to listen to your tunes, the speakers are equivalent to the 60's hand radios. We wanted them just to help communication between rider and passenger with "no boom"... perfect. Being able to use the phone could be a blessing or a curse. April 7, 2014
Excellent Clarity and Very easy to install Recently purchased the Uclear HBC200 and very impressed with the ease of install into my Bell RS1. Setup was pretty easy except for a mistake in the handbook which made it frustrating when the Private conversation wouldn't work, found the correction by downloading the user manual.Paired up in an instant with my phone and once you get used to which buttons to push it works very well. The phone auto answer was great and the clarity to the person on the other end was fantastic, they had no idea I was riding a motor bike at 100kph. A couple of negatives. I have to ride with ear plugs so I use the custom moulded Plugs which do a great job, maybe too good because there is not enough volume at any speed above dead slow. I know when they design and test these units all riders wear earplugs but I dare say they use the standard foam type plugs which let through just enough volume but for myself and my riding partner who also wears the moulded plugs, there is not enough volume. Those buttons are hard to find with gloves on and the thicker/warmer the gloves the harder they are to find. The up/down buttons are manageable, just, because of the bar in between but the answer/front button is a pain because it is not the whole front section but a little button in the middle of the front section. Maybe with time I will get used to the buttons, I hope so because overall I love the units and the features it has. I will have to compromise on the ear plugs for now. April 7, 2014
Exceeds expectations. Easy to install in ski helmet. Hands free..answering phone calls via Bluetooth is simple and the sound is clear. No more dropped gloves or phone. I can stay in touch with my ski partner with voice operated controls. Very few background noises are transmitted. Battery power lasts for a full day of skiing. UCLEAR is now an essential part of my ski gear! March 22, 2014
Great product--our group has 14 of them Clean, easy to use, easy to install, works great, no boom sticking out in front of your face--so easy to answer a phone call by just saying HELLO. Charges quickly--customer service is FANTASTIC March 14, 2014
Uclear Review Bought 8. Can't comment on the phone or music as we didn't hook that up yet. Intercom works great while snowmobiling. The only trouble we have, and we are riding in northern Mn where snow dust is an issue, is that we sometimes lose our pairing due to the distance we get apart. They are superb for trail riding and speeds under 60. You can still hear over that, but can be a bit of a challenge. All in all, we WOULD buy again, and will be looking to purchase more to fill our "gap" in our group! Tech support, by the way was AWESOME. Lauren is absolutely on top of things! Thanks March 10, 2014
This is a very good and easy to setup and use system Very easy to setup, no mic boom needed, the boomless system works well. At highway plus speed.....when I took a call....(before I slowed down) the caller could not believe I was on a motorcycle, no wind noise and or loud background noise. However I did need to slow down a bit to hear clearly. Music by bluetooth is clear, again easy to link up, volume is great. I always wear ear plugs, and volume is fine. I also have the in-ear buds, they also work well, but feel no need to use them. I have not yet used the intercom function. Thus no review offered on the intercom function. February 13, 2014
Great Product, but helmet fit is limited My wife and i purchased this product for our Spring riding, hopefully coming soon to the cold frozen Ohio roads. We are new to the sport, but researched a lot and knew this was for us. We have tried them all over the house and outside, and the sound quality is great, connectivity is easy with bluetooth devices, voice commands are readily followed and functionality is superior. It does take a little getting used to to push the correct sequence of buttons with gloves on. My only problem was that my helmet did not have large enough speaker cut outs for the UCLear speaker. I added some poly resin to the ear cut out- buiding up the cut-out and then applied the velcro and speaker, It worked well and did not bother my ears with the helment on. I can't wait ot get out on the road. February 10, 2014

Gary A: I own the HBC 100s but have had trouble with them after riding in a heavy rainstorm. I really like that they don't have a boom microphone. I am hoping the water resistance will work well for me. I was interested in your description of the "digital decoding" that the units do. I had a significant "dead air delay" when linked to a iPhone 4s causing callers to hang up when they thought they were disconnected. I hope the HBC 200's "response time" and my iPhone 5s the time delay will be gone. Jan 8, 2014

Curt D: Saw these at the bike expo in Chicago. They seemed impressive. After using them, they work great at lower speeds but I have a problem with the clarity at higher speeds. It could be that my helmet fits too loose and I am having excessive wind noise in my 3/4 helmet. Still a good product and the software is upgradable so that it doesn't become obsolete as quickly as those that are not upgradable. Aug 13, 2013

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Harry E: As far as mounting the unit to your helmet, should be no problem as you can either stick on with supplied sticky patch or use the clipon mount. Since the unit is boomless, no problem. Does your helmet have cutout inside for speaker placement? Surely it does. I see no problem. We really like ours and use them always when we ride. Aug 19, 2013

Roland T: I'm sure it will attach to any helmet with two types of attachment options. Excellent quality gear. Intercom between bikes, streaming music from your cell phone, place and receive calls all function VERY well. The voice activation and talking at above 60mph is compromised; however, I would definitely recommend a buy.!

A shopper asked: Also, can we listen to music and communicate with each other at the same time? Mar 5, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Harry: you can be listening to music and communicate at the same time. the voice communication has priority over the music streaming ie the music is interrupted by the incoming voice communication. Once the voice communication is ended you are returned to the music streaming. Telephone communication also has priority over music streaming ie an incoming telephone call will interrupt the music streaming and be returned upon ending the telephone communication. The priority is voice, then telephone, then music in that order. Mar 18, 2013

Pete777: No, it doesn't pair with more than one "side" divice at a time. You will both have to have your own music source (mp3 player, Ipod, Smart phone, etc.). As a side note; you can't listen to music and have an active intercom comunication at the same time. You must first pause the music (simple double tap on the answer button) and then you can initiate an intercom comunication. If your passanger begins the conversation, your music will automaticly be paused until the conversation is ended. May 13, 2013

RevZilla: A stereo Bluetooth dual stream transmitter, such as the Sena SM10, would be required to stream music to two Bluetooth communicators simultaneously. Additionally, you can listen to music and communicate with each other at the same time, though the music audio will cut out during the conversation. Mar 7, 2013

A shopper asked: Not sure of all the jargon so, I will ask in my own words. I have 2 motorcycles with my wife on one with one kid and me on the other with the other kid (4 total users). Can we all intercom together (talk and listen to each other) at the same time without having to hit a bunch of buttons or talk to one person at a time? Jun 6, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Brien: Yes, with the new HBC200's I believe you can have up to 8 units daisy chained together. But keep in mind they are linking together in a line. I believe it was like 700 feet between riders. And if anyone strays farther then the 700 feet you will break the chain for the rest of the riders won't be able to talk to say the first rider. Nov 26, 2012
Reply to Brien Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Bradley777: yes you can. The uclear can have more then one person talking at the same time, so you dont have to wait for one person to stop talking. All you do is enter the two way function by pressing one button along with the other riders and you can all talk freeley with out anyone being cut out. Mar 25, 2013

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Andrew K: The Uclear will work with any half helmet that has more than just two straps going over the ears. For example it will work just fine in a helmet like the "Bell Pit Boss" . But probably wouldn't work in something like the "Speed and Strength SS300". Nov 26, 2013

A shopper asked: The video about this unit mentions voice commands. Does anyone know what these commands are? "Pick up", "skip song", "pause", etc? Apr 3, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: This device allows voice commands for answering phone calls. When a call comes in, you can simply say 'hello' or 'pick-up' to answer. It does not support music voice commands. Apr 9, 2013

A shopper asked: What are the battery timeframes for talk and standby? Nov 6, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Mskembo: I can only give you my experiences on this, but I get about 10-12hrs listening to music. When I'm using it as an intercom I get a little less, but not significantly. U-Clear says "10 hours of talk time" and I would believe them. They also say two weeks of standby, and I have no reason not to believe them even though I've never put it to the test. Nov 14, 2012
Reply to Mskembo Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Brien: I've never really kept track of the use time. But I will say it'll last me a week or two in between charges with about 30-minutes of use a day. After the first charge which will take a couple of hours, it charges pretty quick. Nov 26, 2012

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
MichaelAndAndrea: QUOTE (From uclear-digital's site (URL noted below))

Q: We have a set of the HBC100?─?s and are waiting patiently for the 200?─?s. What I?─˘d like to know is will they be compatible with each other? Can our passengers use the 100?─?s to communicate with us or do we need to have 2 sets of the 200?─?s?

A: Thanks for purchasing the HBC100?─?s. You will not be able to use the multi-unit function between the HBC100 and HBC200 units. The HBC200 can pair with 5 additional HBC200 units, but the HBC100 can pair with just one other unit.

UNQUOTE (http://uclearstore.com/motorcycle/)

It is unclear if the above statement answers if it is backwards compatible, it may be, this information states the HBC100 cannot be used to pair into the HBC200 to use multi-hop technology. Looks like we just have to wait a few more weeks until Uclear-Digital receives their FTC approval (this is the roadblock right now).
May 22, 2012
Reply to MichaelAndAndrea Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Mskembo: No it's not. U-Clear has this stated on their website. The HBC200 uses new technology in the intercom circuit that is not compatible with the old one. That being said, I've ridden with a friend who has a Scala system, and we both have cell phone plans that are unlimited cell to cell calls, so I just called him at the beginning of the ride and we talked the whole time. Bradley777: No. unless they put out a software update to make the two way systems compatable. But as it stands right now the two ways will not work with one another Mar 25, 2013

A shopper asked: would this work with a ski-doo modular helmet (the ones that have a mouth piece)???? Dec 19, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Jeff J: Since the mic's are mounted on the ear speaker, any modular helmet should be fine. There is nothing in front of your mouth to interfere. Mic clarity is usually quite good. Hearing volume is good, but heavy wind noise does reduce your ability to hear. Under 60 mph, or behind a windscreen, volume is quite good. Dec 20, 2013
Reply to Jeff Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Ian B: I'm sorry. I don't know what a ski-doo helmet is. The mic is located on the speakers themselves so there is no "boom" arm. The speakers Velcro into the ear recesses of the helmet.
I hope that helps.

A shopper asked: Hello,
we bought the UCLEAR HBC 200 Communicator-set on our first part of "All-America-Tour" (New York-Alaska-Panama, second part, South-America will be next year) on 8/17/2013 at CYCLE GEAR, 21725 Vanowenst., Canoga Park, CA 91303. It was wonderful to have a talking connection, and it worked quite good. And the phone-integrated micro is the best thing for motorcycle-helmets!!!
But: we came in rain. And in September/October/November it is raintime in Centralamerica. So, after using it six weeks, it didn┤t work any more. It is not possible to shut on and shut off the master-device. Meanwhile we are back at home in Germany. We can┤t go back to the store, where we bought it. So, what can we do?

Michael D: Try speaking with the folks at U-Clear directly. They have been very easy for me to communicate with via Email and write to let me know when things I am looking for become available. I have purchased items from them directly this way even though Revzilla is my preferred supplier for almost everything motorcycle.
Cheers,
Mike

Richard S: It is my understanding that they only will pair with other HBC200's. You can not even pair them with HBC100's. I love mine and would not give them up for anything, however I agree it is annoying they they can't pair with other system.

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The HJC IS-33 has increased amounts of airflow, which will affect the quality of sound projected into the mic. Perhaps a helmet with a longer shield, a full face helmet or a modular helmet would work better with this system. Apr 17, 2013
