They squeak like heck when walking. The zipper by design has a very tight pull spot at top of foot and is plastic, so I expect it to fail. Should be a metal zipper for longevity. Not as rigid as a Sidi boot in same price range. The nose guards should be more conforming to the boot. Where the two pieces meet sticks out and looks like coming off but isn't. At this price I feel they should come with an extra set of guards not just the screws. I hope by the time I need new guards they are still available.

Awesome Boot with Maximum Protection
Great looking boot with the peace of mind of added safety around your ankle area. Meant for a more aggressive seating position because of the angle of the boot, but really comfortable on and off the bike. Best bang for your buck if you can get it on sale!

Great protection for less money
I debated between the TCX S-Race and the 2012 Alpinestars SMX Plus for some time. Having previous experience with TCX (Oxtar) and knowing that they fit my wider than average feet I finally opted for the S-Race. So glad I did.
I caught them on closeout sale for way less than the Alpinestars allowing me to use the funds on other gear and yet I didn't lose out on ANY protection in the boot!
The boot is very comfortable for extended street riding. There's enough air flow to keep you cool in the warm months but not so much that you will freeze off at 40F.
TCX is a great quality brand and major bang for your buck. Used by some of the best racers out there too.

Wow, I am very impressed
Great boots, very comfortable, the protection and feel is solid. It has great all day comfort and great air flow. The only area that is lacking is that its not the greatest to walk in for a long time, but its entirely acceptable for a full race boot. The fit is true to size for me, I cannot stress the overall feel of quality and refinement with TCX products.

Great boots, well made
I wear a 10 or 11 in shoes/boots and the 44's fit well. The air vents actually do work and the TCS system not only protect, but make it easy to walk around in the boots.
As mine are white, you will need to spray them with leather protection prior to wearing them. The shift pad will get dirty, but it is a rubberized material so it's not too bad to clean.
Overall, great comfortable boot with many safety features.

Bang for your Buck
I have owned these boots for about 6 months now and ride in them DAILY. Crash tested these boots at about 40mph. The protection and features they offer at this price point is second to none. Walked away with no foot injuries and hardly any damage to the boots. IMO the styling is top notch. Not super flashy but still sporty. They look sweet under my jeans (and i have them in white). A bit of soap and leather conditioner will keep them good as new. Amazing comfort and "feel" on the bike. Stiff anti-slip sole, TCS and MCS make this boot feel rock solid. Yet, still comfortable enough to walk around in for an hour or two.
Bottom Line: You are getting the best quality, most protective, comfortable and stylish boot for the money!

Quite nice
I bought this boot when it was on sale. It is quite stylish and nice looking. But the reason I bought it was for its protective features. It has sliders and hard parts in all the right places and the sole is incredibly stiff. I have no fear of foot or ankle injury in the event of a crash. The torsion control is excellent and lets me shift easily and comfortably.
These boots were not made for walking, but even so they are not the worst thing to wear for a couple of hours while walking around. I bring an extra pair of sneakers everywhere to change into but its worth it for the safety.

Great boot for the price!
You can't get a better boot for the price. I'd say this boot is comparable to $400 Alpinestars when it comes to protection/comfort. I wear a 11.5 size running shoes, I got the size 11/45 boot and it fits perfect if I wear thick socks. It's a tad loose when I wear thin socks but that's just my foot size. Haven't raced with them yet, but they are comfortable enough for me to walk around in them all day! Highly recommended if you can get the sale price!

Formerly known as Oxtar, TCX Boots are Italian made and manufactured in European sizes, so make sure to look at the size chart below to see the US conversions. We have found them to run typically true to size, but in our experience they typically will fit people with a wider foot better
