Summer mesh and Cordura trousers, ideal match for the NL5 mesh jacket, but great to use even with other summer jackets. NL5 trousers represent a great leap forward in hot season equipment, even thanks to their ability to perform great on almost every kind of bike. NL5 are also equipped with CE Multitech protectors and hi resistance Clarino microfibre on highly crashing sensible areas. They can be combined with optional H2OUT Pant Liner to become a fully waterproof garment.
Stylish with protection
Bought this for the rated knee and hip protection. It doesn't hurt that they're also pretty low-key except for the knee straps on the back (which are reflective--a great feature) and the Spidi logo stretched across the back part.

Spidi NL5 Mesh Pant: Nice Pants!
This is my first pair of mesh motorcyle pants. I was impressed at the start of Spidi's craftsmanship and attention to detail. Compared to the previous pants I had, the build quality was immediatly noticeable. The fasteners and zippers are quality. I did follow the sizing chart and thought at first the pants were a bit large in the waist area, but not in the legs. I typically wear a Levi's 527 Bootcut Jean in a 34x30, I ordered the XL size based on the Spidi Size chart. I am utilizing a belt to enhance the fit of the pant. Once on the bike, a Yamaha TW200, the armor at the knee was sitting in the right place and the room in the waist was welcomed for fit.
The zippers are on the inside of the leg for safety and allow for a pretty large boot to fit. I wear a Sidi Discovery boot and it fits nice. There is a nice strap behind the knee to adjust the pad.
I look forward to see the comfort level of the pants in the humid summer months.

I am 5'9 at 200 pounds wearing a size 36 pants, I went with the sizing chart and ordered the xxl to discover that they were monstrously humongous. There was exactly 4 inches too much of material at the waist and was about 6 inches too long- SO I went ahead and re-ordered the medium.
The material is sturdy where it needs to be, meshy where it needs to be, has some nice hip protection that you can feel. There is no way to directly connect the pants to a jacket so I will be having a seamstress add ykk zippers to it for better protection.
Aside from these pants being ginormous- they're excellent quality!

A shopper asked:I love Spidi's stuff and am considering buying these, but am not sure if they'd be good overpants for my commute. The pants seems like they're designed to be used when going commando (i.e. no jeans or shorts underneath), but wanted to confirm.Apr 21, 2012
RevZilla:The SPIDI NL5 Pant are designed as a first layer pant and not an over-pant as you stated. However, you could use them as an over-pant if you went up one size to compensate for the pants you intend to wear under them. We will note and point out that typically a benefit to purchasing a true over-pant is that they usually come with full length leg zippers to make putting them and taking them off easier.Apr 26, 2012
