Spidi Marathon H2Out Jacket

The new Marathon jacket and pant combination was designed for the most extreme and adventurous journeys. The Marathon line was in fact conceived and developed for the "CAPO" humanitarian fund-raising trip which traversed the world from the North Cape of Norway to Cape Town, South Africa - from north to south of the world in all weather conditions, with temperatures ranging from -22°F (-30°C) to 122°F (+50°C).

To ensure maximum versatility and total comfort, the Marathon jacket consists of three layers. The outer shell is made from extremely strong and abrasion resistant 220g Tenax Polyamide with areas of Tenax Flex stretch for added comfort; perforated mesh lining for improved breathability; reflective zones for visibility while night riding; dynamic air intakes on the sleeves, shoulders and rear for breathability; five external pockets (including two waterproof) and rear pocket for use of an optional Hydroback hydrating system. CE-approved Force-Tech protective pads on shoulders and elbows are included, while Spidi’s optional Warrior Evo (CE level 2) back protector or Warrior back and chest protector (CE level 1) may be purchased separately.

The second layer, which can be used as an independent jacket, is a waterproof breathable H2OUT jacket, with a high collar for additional protection against the elements. The third layer is an insulated lining. The aluminized fabric absorbs body heat and makes for an extremely warm inner layer, perfect for even the coldest of conditions.

Great jacket...lots of features. This jacket is super versatile, has a lot of great features and is a really great value. July 27, 2015
Comfortable and dry. I've ridden 1,100 plus miles in San Francisco Bay Area weather, I am very comfortable with just the outer layer. I have all the vents open, and I always feel dry. The mesh really helps with air circulation, even during stop and go traffic. I have a good wind shield, so I only start to feel cold with vent open when temperature drops to 55°F and in foggy condition 65°F. I'm 5'-8" with 38.5" chest and weighting 182 lbs and I perspire a lot. With just the outer layer, it is a loses fit. I bought the black/orange to match my KTM 1190A, and for the quality in design of the neck collar. I never notice any discomfort during my rides. October 31, 2014
Use size chart Great jacket with many features. Really nice styling. Very tight fit with both liners in. Order the next size up. Jacket fit perfect with no liners and seemed like it would vent well in that trim. Unable to zip up with both liners or even move arms. I really wanted this jacket to work, however I exchanged it with no hassles. August 13, 2014
High quality, beautiful jacket, but not worth the money This is an all weather, high quality jacket, apparent as soon as you put it on; spring snaps, the different materials used in the construction of the shell, etc. but... What I didn't like is; - the two liners, the thermal liner attaches to the waterproof liner, which then attaches to the inside of the shell. But you can't leave out the WP liner (which is very rubbery & am sure doesn't breath) to just attach the thermal liner for cold, dry days, which are frequent in SF bay area in winter. - it doesn't come with any back protector, which is another $60-$110 & the back protectors from my other jackets are too small for the large pocket in the Spidi. For this price range jacket, it should be included. I wore it around the house for about a wk debating, as it is a really stylish, beautiful jacket. But returned & exchanged for another brand jacket, that has all the features including the two nits mentioned above for $120 less not counting the extra expense for a back protector that came with the less expensive jacket. I am very happy with the alternate jacket I ended up choosing, which is just as high quality and much better value. March 28, 2013
Great style, convienent pockets Used this jacket on a recent 4000 mile trip from Texas to Canada and back, 500miles in rain, temps from 40 to over 100. The jacket performed well, but putting the liner in the jacket was a small hassle not a real problem. The liner is not breathable like the goretex one in my other jacket so I will be swapping that one, but I do have to say it kept me dry. The armor is good, but does not come with a back protector. Love the thing I love the jacket. It looks great and it feels like it's a tough fabric. I haven't had it that long so durability I can't judge really, and it hasn't seen rain yet but I think it'll be just fine in both those situations. It's a bit pricey if it had Gore-Tex or came with the back protector it would be a great deal. I'm 5'9 or so and about 150lbs when I eat a lot. Very slender build and the medium fits perfact. With both linners in the insulating liner is a bit tight around the arm and shoulder, but not to bad it's fine in riding postion and just walking, but a little snug if I want to reach up high or cross an arm way over in front of me. With the shell and rain liner it's perfact or even just the shell fits great. There is plenty of adjustment too. I would of like to seen one or two more inside pockets, but it's got one big one. If you want back protector The EVO Warrior INSIDE is the one you want. It's made for the pocket. I don't think there are many if any others that would fit the pocket. It's really big and long. If you think you like the jacket I'd say go for it. I really like it, seems very well made. Lots of adjustment and very versatel. Plus it looks great, I think. I'm looking at getting There Netforce for next summer. It's got plenty of air intake but a lot more solid pannels then just a mesh jacket, thus better protection in a slid etc. July 16, 2012
I love it. I have had the Spidi Marathon Jacket since mid March 2012. I am very happy with the jacket. It does what the Spidi people say it will do. The step-in clothing works. I wear only the outer jacket down to 58 or so for the ride home in the afternoon. I wear the entire jacket down in the high 30's to high 40's on the way to work. I am worm and comfortable with just a t shirt and my chef's coat. I purchased a 2X from Revzilla and they were excellent. There was an issue with a snap and R'zilla had a new jacket to me in 3 days. The snap issue I believe was not a design problem but maybe a manufacturing faux pas. Not a problem on the new jacket. I have only had some light rain to ride through but the jacket kept me dry and warm. The jacket is light compared to my last jacket FG Rainier. The outer material is much softer and seems finer in the weave. It seems very tough. I have tried to scratch it with my thumb nail and it is impervious and shows no mark at all. The armor sits where it should also. I am going to add the back armor soon. The adjustments on the arms, waist and neck all work well. The stitching and seams are done very well and very cleanly. The finish is first rate. My advice is mto try the jacket on before you purchase if you have a chance. I wear a size 56 euro sizing and 46 US sizing in all my suites. I bought the 2X jacket and it fits well. I believe if I didn't have the spare tire around my middle I might have been ok with an XL. Maybe. I have plenty of room in the shoulders. If you are in between a L and an XL US sizing and XL from Spidi might work. All in all I am very pleased with the jacket. I recommend the jacket highly. I will have the pants before the middle of summer. April 4, 2012

A shopper asked: Outer fabric will not repel water? Water proofing relies on the liner? Jun 1, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Bruce B: Yes that is the design and it works well. The outer fabric will resist water and is effective at blocking light rain. In a heavy down poor the inner liner takes the rain and disperses it.I bought this jacket and paints and used them for a cross country trip in 2012 that was quite wet. The product worked well and kept me dry on a long days traveling in the rain.I recommend the product. sizing it does run a little big i believe. Jun 2, 2014
