Speed and Strength SS2500 Hell 'N Back Hi-Viz Helmet
Surprised at quality
I have been wearing a Shoei for years now but just got dirt bike so wanted more of a traditional dirt bike helmet. Didn't want to spend a lot but wanted all the highest protection levels. Got this helmet ant was really surprised at how high quality it is. Fit and finish is top notch. The helmet is a lot more comfortable than my Shoei. I am not sure if it has to do with the material being new, but it feels softer and more sorted out. I would recommend to anyone and would buy again.

Love it, good customer service with SS too.
I purchased this helmet a month ago, in July.
-Aesthetics: Very vivid graphics. High viz a plus. Looks sharp with black face shield.
-Fits snug and true to size.
-Noisy, but expected with a DS helmet. I wear ear plugs.
- Strap: great ratchet strap, works well and convenient.
-Face shield: no/little distortion, and easy to replace/switch colors.
-Drag: low drag for a DS helmet, easy to check blind spots and highway use comfortable.
Within 100 miles of purchase, rivets holding the black plastic visor tip on to the peak came loose. Lost one of the three rivets on the road and the others wore into the plastic from being loose. Contacted SS and Nick, customer service, sent two new black plastic tips and six bolts to repair peak...within a few days. Very good communication and quick responses to SS website inquiries. No hassle.
Problem fixed, probably just a fluke. Just check all of your rivets before riding.
ABSOLUTELY RECCOMEND IT.

Looked at the icon variant but decided on this due to price point. Fit and finish seem good, some buffeting with shield closed and turning head side to side. My head measured out to 22" and I debated about S or M. I went with a S and was very pleased with the fit. I also bought the dark shield which looks very good with the black helmet. Overall I would recommend.

Nice helmet for the money, good style.
Fogs up easy when not moving. Should include smoke face shield, like the photo. Good crossover for the money. I'm a daily commuter with my BMW Dakar. Pulls when you turn your head at 50mph or higher, no problems below that.

I just received this yesterday. Called out of work immediately woke up this morning and rode 180+ miles to Gainesville. Im at a Starbucks right now on my iphone so please excuse any typos.
Ok here we go:
The aerodynamics on this helmet are exceptional for having a hood. There is very slight side to side pull at 50+, compared to my Gmax that feels like It's going to break my neck every time I lane check. The pull while looking up at 50+ is extreme, but then again there is no normal reason I would ever look up as far as I did while going 50+. (Was for test purposes only)
There is a slight lens distortion, but nothing extreme and its not right in your line of sight.
The ventilation was nothing special. I'm in Florida and its hot no matter what helmet you have on.
Size and ear space: My head is a 22 and I ordered a medium. It is a tight fit, but only in the cheek pads and after 30 miles I didn't even notice. No hot spots.
There is no room for any type of earbuds. I always see this as an issue in reviews but if you ask me, unless you are offload you shouldn't be wearing earbuds. If you can't hear you environment you might as well not have any safety gear on. IMO
The quality of the shell seems great. The vents are in no way cheap feeling.
The rubbers are a little strange, my helmets front chin vent gasket is slightly crooked (no big deal)
The graphics: At first I was hesitant to by such a squid looking helmet covered in graphics. I am now in love with it and don't care if I look like seafood.
Still though a solid hi-viz option would be nice.
Anyway I highly recommend this helmet. Not disappointed in any way. Oh and I love having the ratchet style strap. So much easier to get off. IMO for the price, this is the best option available. Like I said though we need more solid color options

product is good for the price and has great features
this product is great for the price. The visability is fantastic and the visor really stops the sun from getting into your eyes. The hilmet is loud on the open roads but really does not bother you on the trails. I would order this again if I need to.

First DS helmet
This is my first Dual-Sport Helmet on my first Dual Sport bike. The helmet fills a much-needed space between $125 and $400. It appears very well-made. The visor bolts are aluminum, not plastic for example. I also like the ratcheting closure system. I cannot rate noise level fairly as I've always had a bike with fairing and now I am totally exposed to wind. I can say that at speeds over 55 mph the helmet has some lift due to visor which is minimized by tilting head slightly downward. The Hi-Viz yellow is a great balance between visibility and cool as compared to full-on hi-viz helmets. Love the look with tinted windscreen. The only downside (but considering price, is minimal) ventilation is not on the par with my Shoei R1100, but considering it is intended to be out in the wind, I have no issues with it. I suspect it will be somewhat hot when the summer gets here but that's likely part and parcel to the $200+ savings over the high-end models. It's not bad, just not stellar. I cannot speak to durability as I have only had it for a month but the materials appear to be of good quality. The helmet fits more narrowly than my Shoei and is a bit more snug than the Shoei but I take a medium and would not consider one size up- it's not overly tight or uncomfortable. Overall, very pleased with this purchase. It's a significant step up from the $125 range while not killing your wallet as with the upper range. Plus, it looks like you mean business with the optional tinted shield.
