Low quality helmets
I've had this helmet for just over a year and my main complaint is that there are parts of the helmet falling off after pretty light use. The rubber seal around the face shield is coming off, some of the internal plastic panels pop off when I pick it up. Overall, it just isn't much for quality from a $180 helmet.

Other than that it fits well and looks great. It is loud, but I wear ear plugs when I ride so that's not a big deal. Maybe I got a lemon for it to be falling apart after a year of light use, but I'd be cautious of buying one of their products again.

Great helmet!
The one thing I Really want to say about this helmet, GIANT field of vision. Seriously, It's huge! Also, The helmet is light, Moves plenty of air, And visor Not really as big as a factor as i would think looking around the freeway, Don't get me wrong, It will tug your headback if you're not careful, But as long as you know you have the visor and work with it, It's not to bad. However, I'd have to agree it is loud helmet, hope you don't mind the sound of wind! However, for style, comfort and weight, and field of vision, the helmet more than meets expectation! The only reason, I haven't rated everything 5 stars. Is due to changing the shield. It's quite annoying and, time consuming. Having to unscrew, pull out the visor, then pull out the shield of little floating clips, then, somehow manage to line up 2 sides while holding up a visor and getting the shield in clips Gets, Old... Quickly! but, Like everything in this world, everything has a trade off.

Good Helmet for a MotoX rider
This helmet is great for anyone looking for a visor. I can't ride without one as I've been racing BMX and riding dirt bikes since I was 11. Only compliant is that the cheek pads are a little tight on me but they should break in more. Any other questions watch the review video or call revzilla. Their customer service is great and you can tell all their advice comes from experience.

Very Nice!
Looked at the icon variant but decided on this due to price point. Fit and finish seem good, some buffeting with shield closed and turning head side to side. My head measured out to 22" and I debated about S or M. I went with a S and was very pleased with the fit. I also bought the dark shield which looks very good with the black helmet. Overall I would recommend.

Nice one
I´ve just purchased this helmet. I didnt know what to expect, but in generally terms, I think is a good product for the Price I paid. The only concern is how small or narrow it can be, try a whole size bigger, in my case, that should be the choice. I can recomend this helmet if you´re looking for Price, quality and style.

Best Hybrid for price!
This helmet is an exceptional value. I love everything about it. Great airflow, great visibility, great look. There is one thing the purchaser should be aware of. The padding is very thick (which is great for protection,) however It's slightly uncomfortable around the cheek area until the padding wears in.

Nice helmet for the money, good style.
Fogs up easy when not moving. Should include smoke face shield, like the photo. Good crossover for the money. I'm a daily commuter with my BMW Dakar. Pulls when you turn your head at 50mph or higher, no problems below that.

Great looking helemt with some great features. Fits well for us folks with a narrow head.
I saw this helmet on a forum getting some good reviews and I really liked the look of it. I was dubious of the fitment as I have a long narrow head and finding the right helmet can be quite an issue for me. After taking a measurement of my head I chose the XXL helmet as the XL looked like it could be border line on the tight side. When I first tried the helmet on the cheek pads where a little tight but now i have worn it a few times they softern a little and all is good now. The ventilation is really good and if you ride with the visor up and a pair of shades on it doest get noisey at all.

Looks Good! But its loud!
I love the look of this helmet, but the wind noise on the highway is very loud. You absolutely have to wear ear protection to use this helmet.
I wish the visor was easier to take off and on, without undoing a few screws, but its not that big of a deal.

If youre looking for price, quality and good looking, this is your helmet. Is light weight and very nice looking. The problem is that is very narrow and feels a Little bit small for the size. I should ordered one size bigger. I recomend this helmet.

i wear a medium in icon a hjc but my hat size in the sizing chart is a large should i go with the medium or large?
A shopper on Oct 12, 2013
BEST ANSWER: My advise would be to measure your head. Speed and strengths sizing chart is right on. I measured my head, and was right in the middle if the small size, and let me tell you it fits perfectly. Like, perfect.

Measure your head in centimeters as you will get a more accurate reading, then open the sizing chart and convert to centimeters. Buy the size at pertains to you and you will be happy with the fit.
Does the Helmet have thé option to remove the visor...?
A shopper on Jun 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: You can remove the visor (face shield, not the peak). It is a pain to do though because you have to remove the "aluminum" screws. My "aluminum" screws ended up showing rust after the first time riding in a little sprinkle too, plus they are really soft and deformed a little when using a metal screw driver. You can't really run the helmet without the peak on top. Honestly I would get a different helmet. I got this last year and was disappointed with it. The rubber seal at the bottom of the visor came loose and started flapping around, the paint faded really really fast (hi viz yellow), and I don't even leave it out in the sun when I park it. It is also very narrow.
In the photo I noticed that the wind screen is dark. So does that come that way or can it be order to be changed out?
A shopper on Dec 10, 2012
BEST ANSWER: The Speed and Strength SS2500 Helmet comes stock with a clear faceshield. While a replacement shield can be ordered, due to quality control, we are unable to replace the shield in house. All items, due to warranty maintenance, must be shipped to the end user in the same manner in which it came to us from the manufacturer.
is the visor removable?
A shopper on Apr 5, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The ss2500 visor is removable. There are 2 other options for the visor, smoke and mirrored I believe. I have not switched my visor yet but will be purchasing the smoke visor for the spring. The smoke visor is what is shown in all he video reviews for the ss2500 helmets in case you are wondering. :)
How would you describe the fit of the helmets, specifically the h*ll n back. 1 being very round - 5 being very oval ?

BTW, I had to rub out the name of your helmet!!
A shopper on Sep 24, 2012
BEST ANSWER: The ss2500 helmet is not a super round helmet. It is described as an intermediate oval which is right in the and accommodates a large variety of head shapes. I have just purchased and received the ss2500 urge overkill helmet, which like revzilla has pointed out, is sized the same as every other ss2500 helmet. The lunatic fringe, urge overkill, hi vis, and he*l n back versions are all the same helmet, just different graphics. I fit right in to the small size on SS's sizing chart, and the helmet fits my narrow-ish head perfectly. The sizing chart is right on. Great contact on all parts of my head. A great helmet.
