If you are on a budget or if you a rich this is a great helmet!
Even though this helmet is for the person with a budget in mind is that bad or good?

SAFETY:
Lots of people say "How much is your head worth?" I find that a BS remark when it comes to helmets. Sure there are really bad helmets out there that cost cheap and even some that are expensive, but this helmet is actually really good. It passes all the required safety standards that the other more expensive helmets go through as well.

So why is this so cheap?

For one its a plain helmet when it comes to style and design. I appreciate a simple all flat-black helmet so this is perfect for someone who is looking for that. (It does have one small picture on the back which adds to the look and its pretty cool too in my opinion). If you are not into that no worries its only about the size of a computer mouse. The shape and overall look of this helmet is very nice however and looks just as good as a helmet that cost 4 times as much. It only has a few vents but it is very comfortable as-is. Once again it is a very simple helmet. One issue I have with my helmet is that the top left vent latch/tab does not click in like all the rest of them due. This would be a problem for someone who wants no air onto the head area. I have yet met someone who rides with these vents closed so even for me having this vent open all the time is not an issue. My rating reflects this. Could this mean the quality control is lacking and may have different vents or small minor issues? Maybe, but factor in the price and return policy and this still would and should not be an issue for anyone. Just inspect your helmsmen before using and you'll be good. As for me I did not care that minor imperfection does not bother me one bit.

It only comes with a helmet bag and a clear lens pre-installed. I ordered a factory replacement gold lens and it looks and performs really nice with this helmet. Is it a must? No, but factor that into your budget if you want something other than the clear lens. I did not try the clear lens for too long but the gold lens for me can fog up slightly when sitting at a light for too long with the lens closed fully. In my experience this happens to me with any helmet, goggles, etc. Did I factor this into my rating? Yes, absolutely, and I would still buy and recommenced again.

COMFORT:
Short answer it feels good. I wear a medium. It is exactly true to size. Like all helmets you want it a little on the tight side so that it is secure and so that the padding can form to you once it breaks in. Follow the sizing instructions on how to measure your head and you will have the perfect size. I thought I would have been a Large but in this helmet it is absolutely 100% true to size so do not order up or down. Buy the size as per your measurement. Simple.

LOUDNESS:
I have a pretty loud bike and the exhaust sort of drones after a long ride (3+ hours straight). But this helmet allows you to hear decently but not too loud. It is by far not the quietest though. In my opinion I do not like super quiet helmets. I prefer some sound when cruising around. If you ride around 60+ than maybe the wind noise might get to you, but at least you can hear people talking and cars driving around you which is a plus for me. If noise level is a concern there are ways to make a helmet quieter. If I had to say something at all bad about this helmet it would only be the wind noise but really it isn't that bad at all because I am not thinking about it while riding. Only during this review I have just thought about it because I have NO CONS regarding this helmet haha!

When it comes to helmets or any gear for that matter you MUST feel comfortable. Sure safety ratings is a big concern, but comfort and safety go hand-in-hand.

Here's why: When gear is too loose, too tight, itchy, loud, etc. it becomes annoying. Maybe only at first, maybe only after some time. The fact is gear better be comfortable or else you will either not use it as much or it will bother you just enough where it will create a hazard by not focusing on more important things...LIKE RIDING SAFELY!!! We all know riding a motorcycle in inherently dangerous. Keep your awareness up at all times by staying focused on riding vs. your gear! This applies to the real world too.

FINAL STATEMENT:
I would trust my life with this helmet. I would recommend this to a friend and family member. The price is very affordable and gets the job done and is nothing fancy. Its not the cheapest helmet either so don't think this helmet automatically sucks due to its price.

As a military veteran you learn that YOU MUST focus on your job, not your gear. If you have to constantly think about your gear or think it will fail on you than you need different gear. Keep your mind in the game!

For example: You have the choice to carry a flashlight that will last all week or a flashlight that will last one hour. Of course you better choose the flashlight that will last all week because that means you'll be ready all day worry free on if your batteries will last you through this hike. No need to try to conserve, which keeps you motivated, on track, and worry free!!!

This helmet keeps me worry free, it looks and feels good. There is no need for me to upgrade anytime soon.

Very very good at its price point
Just finished my first ride in this helmet. I'm impressed. I was not sure how I was going to replace my aging rf-1000, worse yet I really didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars doing so. Luckily, I did not have to.

I had 4 key things I was looking to cover in a replacement helmet.

1) Fit: Perfect, as I put it on I was immediately revealed that it fit just as well to my head as its predecessor.

2) Ride quality: At the price range I was worried that I would be sacrificing ride quality, but so far so good, time will tell.
From the first ride impression I had no issues with wind forcing the helmet around.
The noise was acceptable (without ear buds/earplugs) I could hear what was going on around me fairly well without whistling or to much roaring. Most of the time I wear something to cut the noise down, but I'm glad it is not a requirement.

3) Style: I prefer a more "tame" color pallet and this really fit my taste. Again, same goes with contour/shaping, I prefer something tame but not dull.

4) Features: I really like the fact a breath guard and chin curtain come with the helmet, two things I'm very happy to not lose at this price point.
I have yet to remove the visor but really only do so to clean it, when required. A quick and easy visor release is not a requirement of mine. A visor lock would be nice, but again it is something I can easily do without.
I'm still unsure of the helmet strap. I'm used to how secure a DD ring configuration is. I worry that, if in an accident, there is a chance that the quick release could potentially be jarred or worked loose under the right conditions. I really wish the "ratcheting" part had a locking mechanism.

Overall: Sure, its not Snell or ECE certified and it will probably wear out faster than some of the x-hundred dollar helmets, but I don't feel I'm missing anything big when comparing this helmet to others I have owned in the past (big sigh of relief)

Great helmet for a great price
The helmet that I used before this one cost twice as much, but it also didn't fit right or give good airflow. However, this helmet is perfect. It fits snug to my head and face, there is plenty of vision all around, and the airflow is great. Also the quick release strap is extremely convenient compared to the double D rings. Overall I give this helmet a 10/10 and will be sticking to Speed and Strength from here on out. The service from revzilla was also amazing between reviews and descriptions of the item and the shipping. It arrived earlier than expected and was nicely protected in the shipping box. Overall amazing service from revzilla and an amazing item. I am overly impressed with everything.

this helmet offers most bang for the buck
purchased this helmet to replace my old helmet, i like the look of it and, couldnt go wrong with the price, can get a little warm in stop and go traffic, the other day, i laid my bike down and this "cheap" helmet took a nasty jolt to the back of it, i didnt feel a thing. i would defenately not have walked away from the crash if i wasnt wearing a helmet, this "bargain buy" really saved my butt.. awesome product!

A great helmet for an exceptional price!
This is my second SS700 helmet (first Go For Broke) and I just love these things! They are kinda loud IMO, but fit extremely well and protect just as good as anything else I've ever worn. I also have a Shoei in my helmet arsenal but hardly ever wear it over either of my SS700s (just doesn't seem as comfortable despite the also excellent fit).

This helmet coupled with the "Smoke" visor looks absolutely sinister!

Great fit, great style, great look
Cbr600f2
This helmet is very comfortable, more comfortable than my prior helmet, that was $300.. It's also very light, no more bobble head effect. The strap is very useful when you need to take your helmet off in a rush. I do recommend however, that anyone purchasing this helmet get the antifog shield, I got the smoked one, the original one gets too foggy. Other than that If your on a tight budget and want a helmet that you'll love, go for this one you won't regret it.

Fantastic purchase
Firstly, helmet is a great fit and very true to size. Feels comfortable and secure, well constructed and the vents and shield are easy to operate. The design is also appealing with a matt black color and subtle graphics. Overall, for the price this is a superb product.

Secondly, if you're thinking about where to buy the helmet, Revzilla is the place. Price was the lowest I could find on the web and they gave me an additional discount based on points accumulated from a prior purchase. Finally, it was shipped for free and essentially over night delivery! I bought it on a saturday, it was processed and shipped on a monday and tuesday afternoon, I was already trying it on. Truly 5 star service,

Speed and Strength's SS700 GFB Helmet was my riding helmet. The fit is perfect, not too tight or loose. To sound like a broken record in the same vein as the J.R. Armor review the Helmet does it's job very well, full clear view of surroundings and comfortable. I will always recommend a full Helmet to a half but as long as it does the job, your welcome to choose your own. I would recommend this Helmet to anyone!

Does this helmet come with the tinted shield shown in the picture?
A shopper on Dec 11, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No- But the tinted ones are not very expensive online.
Do the SS 700 model helmets all come with the ratchet chin straps? My girlfriend has the to the nines which does have it. I was just wondering, before I purchase one, do they all come with that feature?
A shopper on Jul 31, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes it does come with a ratchet chin strap.
1 of the best helmets I own.Comes with the dark smoked shield, great for daytime and in the sun. Buy a clear one for night time or will not be able to see.
Good luck and Be Safe!
Where can i get the tinted shield shown in the picture also what is the color of that shield?
A shopper on Dec 11, 2014
BEST ANSWER: You can order the shield right off this website for about 32 dollars. It is the smoke shield option.
What is the weight and how does he wind catch the helmet?
A shopper on Aug 2, 2014
BEST ANSWER: well, it is an entry level helmet, so it's not super light but it's manageable, and the shape is comfortable to ride, best of all it looks cool as hell
