Speed and Strength SS700 Go For Broke Helmet
Can't beat the quality for this price
This helmet is very comfortable, the whole helmet feels like good quality. I bought it with the smoked visor and the helmet looks sick! The chin Vent works amazing and the visor closed very nice and tight unlike a Bilt helmet i was wearing that the visor did not close snug. If your a medium in icon and HJC then i suggest a medium with this helmet. I love the quick release over the double D ring it's just so easy and fast to put you helmet off and on. Just hope it stays on in the event of a crash
** this is the best bang for the buck helmet IMO. It's my 2nd helmet and I'm very pleased with it for this price
CON- the top vents suck. Dont do much but i still have not broke a real sweat after a good hour of rough riding in 73 degree weather hitting 100mph

Very very good at its price point
Just finished my first ride in this helmet. I'm impressed. I was not sure how I was going to replace my aging rf-1000, worse yet I really didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars doing so. Luckily, I did not have to.
I had 4 key things I was looking to cover in a replacement helmet.
1) Fit: Perfect, as I put it on I was immediately revealed that it fit just as well to my head as its predecessor.
2) Ride quality: At the price range I was worried that I would be sacrificing ride quality, but so far so good, time will tell.
From the first ride impression I had no issues with wind forcing the helmet around.
The noise was acceptable (without ear buds/earplugs) I could hear what was going on around me fairly well without whistling or to much roaring. Most of the time I wear something to cut the noise down, but I'm glad it is not a requirement.
3) Style: I prefer a more "tame" color pallet and this really fit my taste. Again, same goes with contour/shaping, I prefer something tame but not dull.
4) Features: I really like the fact a breath guard and chin curtain come with the helmet, two things I'm very happy to not lose at this price point.
I have yet to remove the visor but really only do so to clean it, when required. A quick and easy visor release is not a requirement of mine. A visor lock would be nice, but again it is something I can easily do without.
I'm still unsure of the helmet strap. I'm used to how secure a DD ring configuration is. I worry that, if in an accident, there is a chance that the quick release could potentially be jarred or worked loose under the right conditions. I really wish the "ratcheting" part had a locking mechanism.
Overall: Sure, its not Snell or ECE certified and it will probably wear out faster than some of the x-hundred dollar helmets, but I don't feel I'm missing anything big when comparing this helmet to others I have owned in the past (big sigh of relief)

Fit me small
The helmet fit me too tight. I am just under 22 7/8 so I went with the medium. My wife said I looked like a chipmunk because it was squeezing my cheeks so much. It gave me a headache by the time I took it off. If you are on the bubble of the size chart, I suggest you go up in size. The helmet looked great though. Sending this back via the great and easy Revzilla return policy!

Great helmet for the value
Ordered this helmet for a new every day ride helmet since my old one is 7+ years old. Great value for the money, average ventilation while riding, vision was a little bit more narrow than what I am use to from the Shark helmet but to each their own. The struggle to change visors is a pain in the A**. If you are one for changing shields often this helmet may not be for you.

If you are on a budget or if you a rich this is a great helmet!
Even though this helmet is for the person with a budget in mind is that bad or good?
Lots of people say "How much is your head worth?" I find that a BS remark when it comes to helmets. Sure there are really bad helmets out there that cost cheap and even some that are expensive, but this helmet is actually really good. It passes all the required safety standards that the other more expensive helmets go through as well.
So why is this so cheap?
For one its a plain helmet when it comes to style and design. I appreciate a simple all flat-black helmet so this is perfect for someone who is looking for that. (It does have one small picture on the back which adds to the look and its pretty cool too in my opinion). If you are not into that no worries its only about the size of a computer mouse. The shape and overall look of this helmet is very nice however and looks just as good as a helmet that cost 4 times as much. It only has a few vents but it is very comfortable as-is. Once again it is a very simple helmet. One issue I have with my helmet is that the top left vent latch/tab does not click in like all the rest of them due. This would be a problem for someone who wants no air onto the head area. I have yet met someone who rides with these vents closed so even for me having this vent open all the time is not an issue. My rating reflects this. Could this mean the quality control is lacking and may have different vents or small minor issues? Maybe, but factor in the price and return policy and this still would and should not be an issue for anyone. Just inspect your helmsmen before using and you'll be good. As for me I did not care that minor imperfection does not bother me one bit.
It only comes with a helmet bag and a clear lens pre-installed. I ordered a factory replacement gold lens and it looks and performs really nice with this helmet. Is it a must? No, but factor that into your budget if you want something other than the clear lens. I did not try the clear lens for too long but the gold lens for me can fog up slightly when sitting at a light for too long with the lens closed fully. In my experience this happens to me with any helmet, goggles, etc. Did I factor this into my rating? Yes, absolutely, and I would still buy and recommenced again.
Short answer it feels good. I wear a medium. It is exactly true to size. Like all helmets you want it a little on the tight side so that it is secure and so that the padding can form to you once it breaks in. Follow the sizing instructions on how to measure your head and you will have the perfect size. I thought I would have been a Large but in this helmet it is absolutely 100% true to size so do not order up or down. Buy the size as per your measurement. Simple.
I have a pretty loud bike and the exhaust sort of drones after a long ride (3+ hours straight). But this helmet allows you to hear decently but not too loud. It is by far not the quietest though. In my opinion I do not like super quiet helmets. I prefer some sound when cruising around. If you ride around 60+ than maybe the wind noise might get to you, but at least you can hear people talking and cars driving around you which is a plus for me. If noise level is a concern there are ways to make a helmet quieter. If I had to say something at all bad about this helmet it would only be the wind noise but really it isn't that bad at all because I am not thinking about it while riding. Only during this review I have just thought about it because I have NO CONS regarding this helmet haha!
When it comes to helmets or any gear for that matter you MUST feel comfortable. Sure safety ratings is a big concern, but comfort and safety go hand-in-hand.
Here's why: When gear is too loose, too tight, itchy, loud, etc. it becomes annoying. Maybe only at first, maybe only after some time. The fact is gear better be comfortable or else you will either not use it as much or it will bother you just enough where it will create a hazard by not focusing on more important things...LIKE RIDING SAFELY!!! We all know riding a motorcycle in inherently dangerous. Keep your awareness up at all times by staying focused on riding vs. your gear! This applies to the real world too.
I would trust my life with this helmet. I would recommend this to a friend and family member. The price is very affordable and gets the job done and is nothing fancy. Its not the cheapest helmet either so don't think this helmet automatically sucks due to its price.
As a military veteran you learn that YOU MUST focus on your job, not your gear. If you have to constantly think about your gear or think it will fail on you than you need different gear. Keep your mind in the game!
For example: You have the choice to carry a flashlight that will last all week or a flashlight that will last one hour. Of course you better choose the flashlight that will last all week because that means you'll be ready all day worry free on if your batteries will last you through this hike. No need to try to conserve, which keeps you motivated, on track, and worry free!!!
This helmet keeps me worry free, it looks and feels good. There is no need for me to upgrade anytime soon.

This helmet looks and feels really solid. The only complaint that i have is it has slightly less room around the ears compared to other helmets. It could also be because of my headshape.
With a tinted shield, looks really cool.
