Great Product but....
This product is great! The armor is in all the right places and hardly noticeable. Great airflow if you're moving, at long stop lights on hot summer days you might get a little sweaty though, but as soon as you get going again: good as gold!
I review all my jackets at the end of the first season (to give a fair rating) and this one, the velcro around the wrists deteriorated already. Thats the only downside, and its a quick fix, nothing to be too worried about.

Great Bang for the Buck
Bought this jacket for the reasonable price and great style. Must say I'm pretty satisfied. Style and fit are great. Noticed some of the stitching coming loose but nothing too bad. Great air flow and padding in all the critical areas. Cant beat it for the price.

Better than adequate, almost great.
I purchased this jacket to use through the summer in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Basically I needed a three-season jacket, and this was essentially it. Decent protection and still lightweight. The softshell fabric has kept me dry even in full rain. The venting could be better, but is still adequate. Overall a good jacket.

Good coat, fits great, and armor feels is not too bulky!
First things first, I am 170lbs. 6'0" I ordered a medium and it fits perfect. So like I said it runs a bit larger then usual because I wear a large in regular coats or sweat shirts. Another thing the pockets are a little unique but by no means a deal breaker, and by unique I mean there is a pocket located on the forearm and the side pockets are a kinda weird because one pocket goes toward the front of your body and the other one goes to the back of your body not sure why but they all serve their purpose. Overall good jacket you can wear year round but in black and in the heat of the summer like expected you will be sweating.

Great price for a great jacket!
This jacket really seems to hit the sweet spot between not being too heavy, while still offering good protection from the elements. I also like the "low key" look to it... it doesn't make you look like a misplaced MotoGP star when you're off the bike. I haven't gotten to check out its "water resistant" ability yet, but here in Florida, it's bound to happen. Two of the big selling points for me were the fact that the shell is water resistant (as opposed to the liner) & that it isn't as heavy as most "waterproof" jackets (you won't bake if it's hot out). Good all around jacket.

Love this jacket!
My second jacket but i love it... It's not to flashy and still has the protection you want. Most jackets that have great protection make you look like a super hero and the really nice jackets you might as well just wear a northface. It could be a little better quality (had to exchange cause a button just randomly came off)
Overall very happy!

Needs Moar Reflective and Moar Hood
I chose this jacket because it had armor, relatively subtle branding, reflective accents, a hood and a reasonable price.

The video says there is no back armor but, there is. I ordered it and then cancelled because of this. I ordered it again after getting back protection only to find that it indeed had back armor.

I could do with even less "Speed", "Strength", "Strong", "Faster" but, the words are small and well-placed.

The hood is not very deep. I don't need to put it over my helmet but, it looks tiny on my big ol' noggin. Good thing it's removable as it doesn't serve much of a purpose.

All the silver tape design accents could have been reflective areas but, they aren't.

Armored softshell? Yes please....
This jacket was exactly what I was looking for. In cooler weather I prefer to wear a softshell, but untill this jacket, hadn't found one with CE armor. The fit is on the large side, I had to return the first one and order a size smaller. Revzilla did a fantastic job with both the original shipping (two days to me) as well as the return processing (less than a week to ship back, inspect, and credit). I am 5'10" 165lb 39"chest, and the size "small" ended up fitting great, but the sleeves could stand to be about an inch longer. The size medium was OK if I needed additional base layers, but I wanted something that could hande spring and fall temps without additional bulk. This jacket nailed it. It will go down to 50 degrees and keep me comfortable, and the underarm/back vents make it tolerable up in to the low 80s. Style is great, it does have more logos than I prefer, but that's nitpicking. Plenty of pockets, they're just in wierd places, you get used to it. All in all, a great jacket, especially considering the price. Honestly I would have paid more since it's everything I wanted.

Ok. But could be better
Only a few gripes.
1. No monkey paws. "One of major reasons I wanted over Icon soft shell" none on jacket I got
2. Armor looks and feels a bit cheap. Does come w back protector.
3. No cool core liner. Like in review.

Other than that great for brisk weather 30 to 50 degrees. Does great even in high wind. No trash bag effect.

50/50 on recommending it. Might look at Icon soft shell over this one.

Serves me well as my first moto jacket
This was my first jacket, sold to me at the dealership on the day I bought my bike. If I had done more research beforehand, I think I would have bought something different online, but now that I'm stuck with it, it does not disappoint. I'm 5'9ish and 160lb, and I normally wear a medium but this jacket fits me perfectly in a small.

Pros:
* Full set of armor, and seems very protective overall
* A versatile set of pockets
* Half-decent looking

Cons:
* I think S&S' branding looks a bit immature; this jacket says "SPEED" on it in huge letters in multiple locations.
* It's not super warm, but the venting seems inadequate for hot weather, making it an unhappy medium that's neither a good winter jacket nor a good summer jacket.

It's a quality product that will do the job without being irritating, but there are better choices in this price range depending on your climate.

Why did you choose this?
RevZilla Store
Seeking for a fall/winter jacket for short rides on surface streets. The primary criteria was wind protection which this waterproof jacket should offer, as it would render whatever I layer underneath more effective than any of my existing perforated or otherwise openly vented jackets can provide. The softshell material will be easier to deal with than leather jacket for frequent on/off use required throughout a typical work day.

I live right on the equator. It is hot and it rains all year round. Picked it for the styling and its ability to keep out light rain

Does this jacket have a sleeve for back/spine armor?
Chrystian M on Jun 8, 2014
Hi, I just got this jacket, but can't find the wrist gaiters.... do they tuck away someplace?
A shopper on Sep 6, 2013
BEST ANSWER: When I received my jacket, I was asking the same thing so I emailed both Revzilla and S&S. Revzilla said it might not have been passed through to the final design. I just recently got an email from S&S saying that the wrist gaiters were actually taken out of the final design also. It's still an awesome jacket though!
Want some information on end of the sleeves "Monkey Paws", how do they feel with gloves on?
Roger D on Jun 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No monkey paws on jacket. I was sad too.
How is this jacket in warm weather, say 80f +, humid summer days?
tristan v on May 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I live in Florida, so you found the right person to ask! It's better than most textile jackets, thanks to the large chest vents, but not quite as cool as a mesh jacket. It is water resistant though, which I like because I get caught in the rain a lot.
Hi, is this a good jacket that will provide protection in the event of an accident that leaves me sliding across the pavement and protect from injuries such as road rash?
A shopper on May 11, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi, a leather jacket is your best bet for the highest protection, but this does have armor in it.
