Speed and Strength Rust and Redemption Jacket 4.5 5 12 12
Solid Jacket I wanted a jacket for riding when it was colder out that wasn't too expensive or flashy. Overall I'm happy with the jacket. As far as airflow and temperature goes, I only ride with it using the vest portion zipped in, it is easy to install or remove though. The arms are vented on the undersides which does provide some airflow which can be a bit chilly in the cold. Apart from that it's warm enough for me, I use it with a thick long sleeve shirt down to 40F. The fit seems right on, I wear a medium in most things and this jacket was no exception. If you wear a thick longsleeve shirt underneath the arms are just a bit tight when bending but comfortable riding. The protection seems adequate. Elbow, back and shoulder protection stay in place and are comfortable. I'm unsure how durable the fabric holding it all together is. It seems fairly robust. October 4, 2015
Good looking and protective (of sorts) Love the look of this jacket, the amount of pockets, removable liner, etc. Cons: zippers aren´t super, elbow protection kind of moves around and I´m not sure if it would stay in place if needed. Without any garment (desides a tshirt) below it, like a hoodie, it does tend to swim around and is kind of uncomfortable in the elbow area. Otherwise it´s good looking and comfortable, shoulder and back pads are comfortable September 7, 2015
Quality with padding, not too expensive or flashy. I ordered size Large and am 6'2" 200lbs, and it fits perfectly. There's a little room for a bit more barrel chested people but probably not too much more than that. It's very comfortable and even though I can feel the pads (shoulder, elbow and spine) when I put it on, I forget them in about a minute. Super comfortable when riding, sleeve ends zip open for more air, and has removable vest-like liner. Have worn between 45-90 degrees and been comfortable in both. Very plain black with orange stitching that doesn't really show. Super clean looking, and good bang for not too much $$. July 22, 2015
Great Jacket. This is a great jacket. The fit isn't snug. The Vault armor is better than what some other jackets come with. The jacket was a little warm sitting at a traffic light but I feel that's to be expected with any jacket and no breeze. Once moving though plenty of air circulated through the jacket. The removable liner seems like it'll keep you warm in cooler months. It would be nice if the liner was full sleeve since the sleeves are perforated. June 15, 2015
Great lighter/midweight jacket Not much use of the jacket yet but so far I like it quite a bit - fits very well when riding due to construction. Fairly lightweight while still feeling durable and equipped with armor for those that want it. Decent airflow too. The mesh liner and neck liners are a bit rough, I'm sure they will break in with wear though, and that's about my only complaint. The only other thing that I would have liked on the jacket is a snap back for the throat tab. April 27, 2015
Phenomenal Jacket S&S has a winner with this jacket. I had originally ordered the Dogs of War jacket in a 2XL, which did not fit (I have a 52" chest), and the 3XL was not available, so I exchanged for the Rust & Redemption in a 3XL, in black. I'm quite glad I did. It's a very comfortable jacket. The outer shell feels tough, and is beefy and well constructed, but surprisingly light. Texture of the poly/nylon material is reminiscent of a canvas jacket (not quite a waxed canvas, but still fairly similar). I love the heavy-duty brown contrast stitching throughout (everything should have contrast stitching). The armor feels solid, but is slim, light, and flexible; once the jacket is on, I don't really notice it's there. Styling is simple, but hits all the right points, with some nice details in the quilting, accordion panels, and more. This jacket has enough of a mix of modern and retro flair, that it would be at home on riders on just about anything other than motard or flashy brightly colored sport bikes. Obviously, it's meant to appeal to the cafe, Euro, and bobber crowd, though. Airflow is much better than I expected, and much better than other jackets I own. A bit stifling in the heat when you're at a standstill, but the perforations in the arms and back really shine once you start moving. I was thoroughly impressed, and think it'll hold up to Texas heat better than I was anticipating. Honestly, in terms of fit, though I would disagree with the general consensus that S&S jackets run generously cut. I'm 6', 250 lbs., 52" chest, and the 3XL is a snug, but perfect, fit. I normally wear XL-2XL shirts, so this is a bit off for me. Not a big deal, though; I don't care what the tag says, just as long as the actual fit is good, and it is. The way this fits, plus my experience with the Dogs of War jacket, which I ordered to my size based on the size chart, would indicate that the 2XL would fit. Luckily RevZilla's returns and exchanges are a breeze, and I couldn't be happier with the Rust & Redemption jacket. April 4, 2015
Nice jacket nice jacket that can be worn as casual as well.Got all the protection if you need it. I fit a 42 inch chest and bought a lardge which fits quite snugly. December 17, 2014
Amazing Value Jacket I've been on the hunt for a jacket with minimal logos and a classic look. However, given my small frame I'm left swimming in most jackets that fall into that category. I found this jacket and ordered it on a whim(especially considering the price) hoping it would fit well. Fit: I am 5' 10" & 155 lbs, I generally wear more European cut gear in a 38EU/48US jacket size. Given the sizing chart I ordered a small for this coat. When I received the jacket I was pleasantly surprised that the body did not leave me swimming and the arms were the perfect length. Even with a size small there is room for a sweatshirt underneath. Overall the cut is somewhat generous while remaining trim. Quality: I really like the texture on the exterior of the coat , I think it will age well. The armor is O.K., however, I will probably swap it out for some D30 or Bioarmor from another A* jacket I have around. The back protector is CE level 1 certified but again leaves a bit to be desired. I can't complain too much given the price point of the jacket. The mesh lining is a bit scratchy as well, but I think given a wash or two and some wear it will be better. Overall for the price the quality seems above it's price point and time will only tell how it will age. December 15, 2014

Nikolas H: Chose this item after viewing on Revzilla & after purchasing the Speed & Strength products previously from them as well...great style, ticks all the boxes...no brainer. Jun 8, 2015
Wei-Li T: I was looking for a lighter jacket for the warmer months in brown; this one kind of reminded me of the jackets the viper pilots used in the original Battlestar Galactica, and I couldn't really resist the price (owning 5 motorcycle jackets already, it's hard to justify why I need to spend more on another). Looking forward to seeing if it fits snugly enough in a medium for me (40", 5'8" and 165 lbs.). Mar 5, 2015

MIKAEL H asked: How does AR 700 compare to leather in abrasion resistance? Nov 11, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
Desiree F: It's really tough to compare the two, but here goes:

- leather is skin; it has oil and layers and is a flexible non-woven fiber.

- textile is woven and the fibers are dry.

What that means for abrasion resistance is that leather will "move," with the friction and the oil and layers will glide more easily over a surface. Textile material will more likely break- since they are dry goods. If we're talking road-rash; leather will protect you more. It won't breathe as well, and a lot of leather jackets don't offer quite the same padding as the textile jackets. It's a tough call to make, but the best news is that there's room for both. If you're riding a lot you'll might want a few choices in your closet for different climates and situations.

Hope that helps!

shad w asked: how is the air flow with this? I live in a very hot dry area (central CA) and need something that'll breathe. Sep 11, 2014

kenneth k: The ventilation isn't very good. The front openings are small, and the sleeve openings are short (safer though). It's OK for warm weather, but not hot weather. It's more of a spring, mild summer, mild winter jacket. Nov 9, 2014

A shopper asked: Wondering if I should go with the medium or large size? I'm 6'0 and 195lbs with a 43 inch chest, decently broad shoulders built more like Anthony for reference? I watched the video and if the large fit Buzzsaw that well I'm wondering if it will be big on me and if a medium would be better suited? Apr 22, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Carlos B: I'm 5'7 and 150lbs, unknown chest size, would not call my shoulders broad or use "built" to describe myself at all; people have called me "wiry" and compared me to "fit tweakers". I bought the medium, this jacket adjusts quite a bit so I think the only thing that looks off when I wear it is that I'm fairly thin at the waist and the shoulder armor makes me look like a linebacker. I would recommend getting the large, at my size with the M, the arm length is just right and it just barely lands where it should on my waist (from it being too short). I think the M would be too short and land around your belly button... I had the same doubts between S and M, found a local dealer that carried them and went to try them out, later ordered from Zilla. Great jacket for the price btw, really good for hotter climates. Apr 22, 2015

Nicholas G: The medium might be a little snug but probably not terrible. I'm 6'0" and about 175lbs with a 42ish inch chest and the medium fits me absolutely perfect, tight enough where its not floppin around but just loose enough to be comfortable with another layer or two underneath for colder riding. I've never tried the large on so I cant really say how much bigger it is in comparison but the great thing about ordering from here is that if either one doesnt fit you can just swap it out for a new one. Dennis D. M: I'm 5-10, 215, with 46 chest and glad I went with the XL as it fits me like a glove. Staff said it was running a little small which helped me to move from the L to the XL. Like you, I was going off video and felt the L would work but glad I went with XL. I'm thick in the chest. L may work well for you and your build, as M may be tight. Other than that, I really like the jacket, construction, look and feel. Apr 23, 2015

Noah P: I'm 6'1" and 170lbs. However I'm pretty skinny with longer arms. I got the large and it felt like it was a little wide on the chest. I only got large for arm length. I also have broad shoulders. I would say if you think you can get away with smaller sleeve lengths then get the medium, might be a little snug at first but it'll loosen. Apr 22, 2015

Dave E: I'm 6' 2" and 230, 46" chest. The XL I have fits just right with the liner in, but if I want a hoodie underneath the jacket I have to take the liner out.

One other thing to think out is sleeve length. Going with a smaller size might leave the sleeves too short for you.

Hope this helps.

Nicholas K: I would go with the large. I'm 6'2" 210 lbs, and I have an XL that fits good, with room for a heavy sweatshirt if its cold out. Apr 22, 2015

Josh E: I have broad shoulders as well, and I had to return the size I usually wear in regular shirts because the shoulders were a bit snug, affecting my range of motion. The next size up fit like a glove. Apr 22, 2015

A shopper asked: How do you wash/clean this jacket? Jun 13, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Noah P: Hand wash cold. Rinse thoroughly
do not wring
do not bleach
hang to dry
do not iron
do not dry clean

That's what it says on the jacket word for word. Hope it helps.

A shopper asked: If I wanted to replace the armor on this, what would fit/work with this jacket?
I'm especially interested in back protection that's more breathable, but interested in the shoulder and elbows that are less bulky as well.
