love it I wear mine with the Speed and Strength Tough as Nails Leather Vest over it, and I love it. When it gets hot I pop open the sleeves, crack the zipper on my vest and it breathes quite nicely. I've been riding with mine on a daily commute for something like 6 months and still haven't washed it, it's not stinky or even very dirty, maybe some exhaust grime on the arms. I'm not sure what it's treated with but it must be pretty good. I like the combo with the vest because it keeps the jacket from flapping at higher speeds, and it makes bug removal a sinch. Bugs always bounce off the sleeves so it's no problem. Style is nice, and I always get older riders asking me what the patch on the shoulder is. The protection is placed very well and you actually don't notice that they are there. August 15, 2015
Really nice and comfortable Just bought this jacket and took it for a rip. Very comfortable and stylish.. the fit is perfect. I'm 5'8" 185lbs. I bought a medium. Feels comfy and flexible when riding. Love the look. I have a few riding jackets and vests and my wife likes this one the best. BUY THIS JACKET! August 7, 2015
Green not Khaki The Jacket does fit large. It's a relaxed fit, but I knew that from the reviews and a Medium on a 180 lbs frame at 5'11" fits perfectly. The only issue is that the green jacket on the website does not even closely resemble then color of the actual jacket. The green is actually a deep bright forest green rather than a rugged khaki green. It was put to the test in a slide at 30mph ambulance showed on the scene, and said what the heck is this jacket made of! The plates and materials are durable and flexible hard foam. Good in a bounce or low speed slides. Was wearing sneakers instead of boots, and got a broken ankle like a squid. Any slide over 30 the jacket might need to be replaced. The jacket survived I told them not to cut it off during the ambulance ride. And so my jacket can easily be used again Last, the jacket is pretty hot. Not alot of airflow especially if wearing a messenger bag or back pack. A few vents would've been a good addition. But the sweat dries nicely on a hanger, because the lining is mesh so it won't get rank, and if it does you can hand wash it. Lot of green in the wash water. Not good for a long ride because of the heat even in moderate heat or sun. Below 70 or riding at night this jacket is perfect! For the money it's hard to get anything better looking with better protection. July 31, 2015
Great mix of style, fit, utility, and protection. Found this Dogs of War jacket to fit perfectly (I normally wear an XL and ordered an XL). Looks great and the price is nice for a jacket with included elbow, shoulder, and back armor. Plenty of pockets and a removable hood if that's your style. Free next day shipping from Philly to DC is a big plus too! Two thumbs up! July 30, 2015
Great fit, and great look! I really like the way this jacket fits, and the way it looks. The protection seems adequate, hopefully I won't have to test it. The only things I don't like are the way it bunches in the chest while riding, and the lack of inside pockets. Oh well. July 6, 2015
Fits a little tight A very nice product, very protective. I'm a bigger build kind of guy (longer arms than for my size, broader shoulders than for my size) and I bought a 2XL to fit me comfortably (I normally wear an XL) and it still tight and short on me. But overall a very nice jacket! June 22, 2015
good jacket for moderate weather around town. excellent jacket for wearing around town. not airtight enough for really cool temps but not a mesh jacket either. cotton construction feels comfortable if not as sturdy as other textile jackets. i really like the jacket given those limitations and i'm wearing it often. though i probably wouldn't take it along for a long trip. elbow and shoulder pads sit at the right place. back pad a little clunky but not enough to bother me. I live in coastal san diego and this jacket is great for cool-ish marine-layer summer mornings and evenings. gets a little hot during the day. fit is as described. i'm 6'2" 190 and i bought an extra large. fits great across the shoulders and is a bit loose at waist--but i'm an outlier here probably. (small waist size relative to shoulders) best thing: protection without looking like i'm trying to be a racer. i wish there were more gear in neutral colors and low-key designs. June 22, 2015
Great Jacket (not for summer) At this price point, you won't find better protection. The armor is solid, and the material is thick and comfortable. Above 80 degrees, however, the jacket feels uncomfortable. With the armor and black color, it just soaks up heat. It does flow air well, so at speed on a cloudy day, I sweat less. I can see this being a two- or three-season jacket, but I'll be looking for something lighter for the Kentucky summers (90+ and humid). June 10, 2015

Josh S: Needed a good summer jacket and it fits great, not too heavy, look stylish, and was a good price point and I love that some of the proceeds go to the Warrior Dog Foundation May 27, 2015
aaron b: this is a great three season jacket but in early spring a fall a light sweatshirt fits just right underneath, and as for protection this thing is great for a every day commuter it has all the right guards in the right place that done shift around when/if you go down. and when your not riding it doesn't stick out like other jackets I have seen people wear. when you want protection and warmth with out all the attention when your not riding this is the jacket for you Apr 15, 2015
Aravin P: Really awesome looking jacket. Mar 25, 2015

A shopper asked: How is the abrasion resistance for this jacket being a cotton fabric? The armor is great and all, but what about the material? Jun 26, 2014

Matthew R: While wearing the jacket, I took a spill coming around a corner at 25-30 mph and it is perfectly fine, aside from some scrapes and grass stains. The patch on the shoulder was ripped off, but that was the worst of it. Padding absorbed most of the shoulder impact. I only wish I would have threaded the belt loops to ensure that it didn't ride up at all. By lower back received minor scrapes. Dec 17, 2014

A shopper asked: It seems the Jacket has a great Air Flow, is it classified as a Summer Jacket? I am looking for a Jacket to Ride in very warm weather would that be a good pick? Oct 7, 2014

Sean H: Yes, this is definitely a summer jacket. Airflow is great! During winter, I'd recommend a thick shirt under neath it though. During the Louisiana summers, I don't even break a sweat with this jacket though. It's fantastic. Oct 8, 2014

A shopper asked: How is this for a summer riding jacket? May 15, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
Justin M: I will preface this with I am generally a very warm bodied individual and I am in Utah. Personally I view the jacket as a spring and fall jacket. It does breathe fairly well so depending on how hot it gets it wont kill you to wear in the summer. The decision to do so should be based on how hot it gets where you are and how well you can handle the heat. If you feel you need to riglde with a jacket in the summer, there are probably better options. However this would probably work as well. May 15, 2014

Chris C: I'm 6'4 190 and the large is just a tiny bit short, but the width is good so if I were you I'd go with that. If you want something that's gonna be tight maybe a medium but the large is perfect for having a hoodie underneath for me. Apr 23, 2015

Sean H: I'm 6'3", 190 and a large fits me perfectly. my brother has the same jacket, but a medium. He is 6'0" 160 and medium fits him perfectly. So if I were you, I'd rock the large. Apr 23, 2015

A shopper asked: I wear a 3 XL Tourmaster transistions 3 motorcycle jacket, but for a normal jacket I wear a 2 XL. As this has no liner and is more like a regular jacket, what size would you recommend?

keith w: I decided to go up 1 size from my normal everyday jacket size and it fits great. I was right on the upper end of the size limits for my normal jacket size based on their measurements. I would recommend going up the size. This jacket is much more comfortable with a little wiggle room. Spray it down with a good waterproofing spray if you plan to hit any rain on the way! I really like the look and feel. The padding is comfortable too. May 6, 2015

Isaac M: I ordered it true to size. I typically wear a L jacket, and so I ordered this in a L and it fits perfectly. Not a lot of room for thick base layers, but it is a summer jacket anyway. Hope that helps! May 7, 2015

A shopper asked: Hey guys,

I'm checking out the Dogs of War textile jacket by Speed and Strength. I'm really digging all the positive reviews and the cause supported. I just have one question, style is a key factor in any common rider's gear selection so I just want to know, is the olive color like an army olive green or is it more on the brown side like the picture shows?

Garett F asked: I bought the Speed and Strength Stars and Stripes jacket and it fits good in the arms but is a little short in the body. This jacket seems to look a little longer in the body, I was just wondering if this jacket fits the same? Also does anyone know if the Speed and Strength Off the Chain 2.0 fits the same as well? They all look fairly similar. Feb 13, 2015

Chris C: Garrett,

I don't know how tall you are but I'm 6'4 and I'm not sure if that's just the fit of speed and strength jackets. I purchased the dogs of war jacket in a large last fall and the length of the arms and the width if the chest were perfect but the jacket was a little short for me. For an average height person (around 6'1 ) the jacket would fall comfortably below the belt line but if your my height if falls about halfway on the belt which isn't bad but it could be a little longer

Eli H: I have the Dogs of War jacket and first and foremost I love it. But I must say it also seems to fit me a little short. I am 6'1'' about 240 (more muscle than fat, I swear haha) and I ordered an XL. When it came, the collar tag actually said XXL and I was upset until I tried it on. Glad it was XXL. The body fits very well in terms of snug-ness, and the sleeves are perfect, but it IS a little bit short on the torso. Mostly in front, and it's not a deal-breaker, but based on what you are saying about the other jacket, I think this might be the way that Speed and Strength jackets are. Good luck! Feb 13, 2015

Garett F: Thanks man. So short torso aside, you would still recommend this jacket? Feb 14, 2015
A shopper asked: Does this jacket have any inside pockets? Dec 17, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Neil W: No interior pockets. I used the back protector insert area to bring home some mail (once), but the only real pockets are the 2 in the front of the jacket. Hope this helps.

Rubber side down, ride safe.
