good compromise boot for summer I have the Sidi gortex Adv boots... but I was looking for something to commute with in hot weather. I wanted light weight, something I could walk in... maybe some breath-ability. This boot/shoe does the job. I like the tecno 3 laces... pretty cool. Fit is good. I take a US 11 and a 45 fits fine. Comfort wise there is very little padding in these. You can walk in them but I wouldn't want to hike miles. They tend to rub my ankles a bit up high. On the bike they have great feel... easy to shift/brake. Very nice. Overall this is a good compromise between protection and comfort. I think if a had a fall in these they would hold up well and while not a pair of sneakers... you can walk around (no squeaking) and not look out of place. I normally rock these with a pair of draggin jeans and a mesh jacket... July 29, 2015
Sidi is and always delivers on its products I am a serious bicycle rider and own several pairs of cycling shoes, they are beyond the best and have tremendous longevity. After returning to motorcycle riding I decided to try these Sidi Astro Boots for the warmer Florida climate. What a quality product. Great design and great looks. you will not be disappointed. Additionally I would like to write something about RevZilla as below: This company is a cut above all the other motorcycle related companies I have dealt with. Their informative videos are invaluable for the products they carry. The companies customer service and expedient shipping is the best I have experienced and I do a lot of online shopping. Additionally the way the products are packaged clearly says to the customer, We care. The Sidi shoes I recently received were packaged with tender loving care. This company RevZilla has EARNED my business. Thanks for caring and I will tell all my riding friends the same. January 10, 2015
not pretty but very good boot if you can handle the saddle shoe look, these are a great boot. I usually wear a size 12 shoe, and size 46 in these boots is the right fit (tried a 47, it was quite loose). The lacing system is great at getting everything perfectly snug. Shoes are very light feeling, and fit is very comfortable on the bike. Haven't needed it yet, but protection seems good around the foot and ankle. January 14, 2015
Nice boot for the cash I haven't worn these on the bike yet because it's 4 degrees in Kansas City. But, I have worn them around the house. I was looking for a type of shoe/boot that I could wear comfortably on those all day rides/weekends instead of a full on race type boot. I want some flexibility while wearing the boot off the bike and I think these will be fine. The footpad does seem to be narrow like stated so I can't comment on if that will affect its performance. I will say they are a nice looking boot, even in the white trim. The hardware is much like my Sidi Race boots I use on the track. I’m a fan. Lots of adjustability for comfort and Sidi is quality stuff. Like I said, I didn’t want a full on boot or race boot as I do several overnight rides and trips with my buddies and I wanted something that offered protection but also offered comfort while walking around off the bike. I think these will be perfect. I’m a Sidi fan. They make a quality product and these seem very comfortable out of the box. For the price, you just can’t go wrong with them. January 7, 2015
Fits great, love the Tecno 3 wire entry and closure system. Wore for a couple months, haven't had any fitting/break in issues. I wear a 9 and ordered Euro 43. The only problem I had was getting caught in some rain and having wet feet. These boots are not anyway waterproof. Boots keep your feet cool on warm days, you may want to wear warmer socks for the cooler days. October 31, 2014
Really good summer boots I normally wear a wide/E width, but these fit well. I figured out that you need to get your heel back and the crank lace system makes that easy. I found that I needed to wear thinner socks. The footbed isn't well padded and I found that uncomfortable after standing for a couple of hours. I wore them for a whole day when I first got them and they seem to breaking in well. I like the narrow sole on the bike. The lacing system is the best feature. They're a bit ugly, but overall I really like these boots. Protection looks good. August 3, 2014
A Decent Warm-weather Low Boot I have had numerous Sidi boots and shoes in the past, and was not disappointed with the Astro. The quality is top notch, as always, and I expect them to last a long time. They do seem to run a bit large, and the tongues migrate to the outside of the shoe while I wear them, something I will try to mitigate somehow. May 15, 2014
Moto Guzzi V7 Rider. This boot is very comfortable, and is OK to walk around in. I love the lace system, works very efficiently. It also offers good sensitivity on the controls. Just what I was looking for. March 31, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
RANDALL J: Great reviews, I have Sidi race boots for the track but wanted something lighter to wear when just cruising around town. Still wanted protection, and these look like they will fit the bill. Oct 12, 2015

A S: 1. Ride my MTB & road bicycle with SIDI for many many years & have immaculate experience!
2. They should also look great with my working outfit - as an attorney-at-law.

A shopper asked: The SIDI size chart indicates EURO 44 for US Men’s 9.5 to 10 and 45 for US 10.5-11.
My size is US 10.5. Should I order EURO 44 or 45?

Scott K: I would go with the Euro 45s. I have 10-1/2 to 11 size feet, and the 45's are about right for me; a little snug in the toe box, but nothing that stops a full day's ride. Of equal importance—to me at least—is that the ankle shaft is large enough that they're not too hard to get off at the end of a long day's ride. Apr 26, 2014

Gregorio B: My shoe size is 9.5, and I have the adventure goretex, the sidi rain and the astro boots, all of the inside say US 9.5 / EUR 43. I would choose the EUR 45. for a 10.5 US size. The Tour rain I bought were a little thight, but now after some time using them the fit just fine. hope this helps Apr 25, 2014

Isaac G: I would order 45 as I don't like my boots to be tight in any way--either way, should the 45 prove to be too large, Revzilla is awesome at exchanging :). Apr 25, 2014

A shopper asked: How is the toe compartment protection / reinforecement on the Astro compared to Joe Rocket Velocity (not V2X)? The Astro looks very comfortable to wear and manouver, and both seem to have nice stiff heel protection areas, but I can't figure it out as far as a decent toe area toughness. Nov 5, 2015

PM C: The Toe box area is no more protective then other motorcycle street shoes/boots - however, the bottom front sole reaches up and somewhat protects the bottom edges of the toe box area by virtue of the molding of the sole area.. I can feel l the shifter - these boots are not steel toe type of boots. One big advantage of this boot is the ratcheting tie downs (replaces the function of laces) allows for a truly custom fit based on how snug you ratchet down the little thumb ratchets - this is the main reason I got the SIDI ankle boots and these SIDI boots are still my go-to pair of street bike-boots on my motorcycle 4 pair boot shelf. The ankle height boots can be worn to work/school without anyone knowing you took the bike.

I Also purchased the medium weight "shin" height SIDI boots with the same ratcheting lace up system- these shin height boots are more for trail riding. The toe box on this trail/road higher boot is more robust and protective. SIDI also makes a full out MX Frankenstein boot that goes up to your knee using the same ratcheting lace system - if you showed up at work with the full on MX boot - well someone will call security I think (LOL)

Auriel K: Not that it's been my intention, but I've abused this boot. The boot was very comfortable from the first day of wear. I share you concern about the toe box. SiDi's technology is perfect for the boot's stated mission. It is feather-light, while demonstrating incredibly durability. I've touched down a couple of times at lean angles I wasn't dressed for without realizing it. The result was a few minor scuff marks but zero structural damage. I don't recommend this for spirited street riding.

I live in the Great Sonoran Desert of Arizona with extremely dry Summer weather fluctuating between 110 to 120 degrees so I rock the perforated model. Note that the perforation in the uppers are well away from high stress areas so strength isn't compromised. This is a comfortable, stylish boot that is perfect for casual daily riding. A pleasure for a rider with the expertise to appreciate it's strength and sensitivity, the feel of control. It's like a second skin on my feet.

A S: Hey there,
I've riding with the Sidi Astro for the past 5 months now.
They feel very hi-tech shoes and in every respect esp. using the quick release and wide Velcro when fitting and unfitting them.
They also feel very smooth and safe, closing you firmly around the calf and ankle and protectively stiff, wherever it is needed the most.
Shifting gears and breaking is also feels very accurate and comfy.
The only downfall, to my mind, is the shape of the rubber sole which is "shaved" all around the soles contour.
Sometimes it makes me feel [while I'm off the bike & walking] 'unstable'.
I wearing the Astro shoes on a daily basis to work whilst on the weekends, I use higher riding boots.
All in all, perfect shoes for me and a reasonable price tag!
Hope you find it useful, Avi

A S: Hey Avi,

Are you from Israel by any chance? If you happen to be from around the Tel Aviv area, I'd be happy to see the Astros before I put 200 dollars on them :). Is there any way I can get in touch with you?

Eli Nov 9, 2015
A S: firstly, apologies for some typos in my previous reply.
Hi Eli,
now. indeed I'm from the TLV area.
I'd be more than happy to show you the Sidi.
of course we can arrange for a 'meeting'.
BTW – I've bought them at Revzilla…. ? Nov 9, 2015
A S: Great! I'm at 054-5983141, be happy to meet up at a convenient time :) Nov 12, 2015
Gary L: I cannot compare the Sidi Astro to the Joe Rocket Velocity. The Sidi toe compartment is generously reinforced and thus great protection. I have worn Sidi Bicycle shoes for 15 years and loved the longevity so I thought I would try this shoe. I absolutely love the style / fit / quality and protection. You will not be disappointed. Hope this helps. Nov 5, 2015
