No one wants to put on a heavy pair of riding boots in the middle of summer with the temprature aproaching 100. The Sidi Clever Air Boot is great for summer heat. Maximum ventelation with excelent protection. Easy to get on great fit for me (a little on the narrow side) and a whole lot smarter than sneakers or even worse flip-flops.

I've only had these out once on a 63 degree day and definitely felt the air passing through them. They're comfortable to walk around in and gave me no trouble at all on the bike.

Originally ordered size 44 and was too big, usually use size 9.5 US on trainers, went down to 43 and they fit nice with enough room for thick socks, the cut is narrow and the tip keeps the toes very compact, if you have wide chunky feet these are not the right choice.
The ventilation is enough to keep your foot from boiling in hot humid weather, but you really don’t feel it below 60 to 80 KPH, and is not as evident as a mesh glove, but it works, the mesh is made of very thick stiff material.
The protection on heel and toes feels very good, however the ankle and shin plates feel very soft, so I would consider it not enough for offroad or racing, definitely a touring/city boot.
You can walk on them, but they are not comfortable, the toe cap pushes on the top of my feet as I bend it, will keep my sandals in the backpack. Very comfy on the bike and despite of the mesh are easy to clean. The sole feels hard and durable.

I've owned these boots for well over two summer months now. I wanted to provide an informed review based on actual experience with these boots.
They look great. I pretty much based my decision on Sidi's reputation, their appearance, that they were vented, and that they were a full boot with shin protection.
Unfortunately they aren't very comfortable, and have that ever so common flat/hard feeling cheaper boots have on the bottom of your feet. Arch support? Really Sidi? It's virtually non-existant. I tried walking around in them and they simply weren't comfortable for doing that for an extended period of time. At best, they're good if you don't plan on walking much.
As Venting was a selling point of these, I was expecting some serious airflow. It's odd but Sidi decided not to provide any ventilation at all around your shin/calf. There's no mesh on the upper half of these where you would expect more as you can get away with less protection on the upper half of the boot and it's often covered by your pants anyway. So, the lower half of your feet are ventilated and do ok, and your shins/calfs sweat big time.
The shin protection by the way is very minimal so they basically give you very little shin protection anyway. I can't even tell if there is any shin protection past the material the boots are made of.
Protection on the lower half of the shoe is decent. The heel certainly feels reinforced, and the material the shoe is made of feels substantial. I would expect it to do well on abrasion resistance tests.
Durability the shoes are holding up fine. My first and only concern so far is the left boot shift pad, which may be starting to give with a substantial indentation.
The fit is standard (not skinny or wide or long or short) so you can match up your US shoe size with the Europe shoe size conversion and feel confident it is a match.
If you're like me and looking for a comfortable full ventilated summer boot with shin protection, this simply doesn't fit the bill. It's an attempt. Unfortunately there are few others to complete in this area. I wish I'd just gotten the half-boot and done away with shin protection, at least my shins/calfs wouldn't be drenched in sweat and I'd be more comfortable.

I bought these for use with a sport bike as I didnt need toe sliders since im not much of a racer. The nonslip sole is great and are very well made. The venting is really nice when riding and my foot rarely gets hot. I wear a 10-10.5 shoe and got the size 44. They are slighly big with a regular sock on but fit great with a thicker wool sock and I think the thicker sock will be necessary when the weather gets cooler.

Got these for an 8 day road trip in the states. Also bought the Sidi Canyon Gore-Tex boots at the same time.
I wore the Air's most of the time, had temps ranging from 61-96 and they really do vent quite nicely. Quite comfortable to walk in as far as motorcycle boots go. Went for a 30 min walk just to stretch my legs in the middle of the ride and they were fine, maybe a little slippery on the gravel and roots sticking out, definitely not a Vibram sole. But hey, these aren't hikers!
Love the styling of these. They are very comfortable and sizing is right on. I got a size bigger just because I'm planning on throwing in some orthotic inserts and typically wear merino or smart wool socks.
I spent on average 9 hours a day in them for most of my trip and would say these are the perfect summer boot. Just be aware that they will not keep you dry in a downpour!

These boots fit to size. I have both a touring bike and a sport bike and they serve the purpose for both bikes. I can feel the airflow in these boots while riding. The grip is very good so I feel very sure footed on many different surfaces street, driveway and garage textures. I'm very happy with these boots.

The boots have zippers and velcro on the inside. This makes them very easy to get on. The upper velcro can be adjusted to acomodate diferent sixe anckels & caves.

The Sidi Clever Air boots are not waterproof. Bought them and the Canyon Gore-Tex boots at the same time and the Air's are perfect for the summer where venting is top priority. I did get rained on wearing the Air's for about 20 min, the boots got a little wet on the outside but my feet were still dry. Of course the skies opened up even more and I ended up pulling over and putting on the Canyon's along with my rain gear.

But the mesh panels you see are just that, MESH! I spent most of the 8 days on the road in temps of 61-96, mostly 90's though and these were perfect. I think you're going to have to make a choice between getting something that vents really well or keeps you dry and warm. I chose to get both boots mentioned because I don't think I could find one pair that does it all really well.

As for the sweating part, I have found that a really good pair of socks such as merino wool or smart wool has kept my feet quite dry by wicking away any sweat. Wearing cotton socks will keep your feet nice and moist in the summer.

The Sidi Clever boots are vented boots so they are not waterproof. They have holes in the Lorica and in the liner to allow air flow. If a boat had a small holes in the hull would water get in? If your looking for breathable boot look for something with GoreTex.

They are not waterproof. They have mesh pannels to increase air flow. It will be difficult to find waterproof boots with summer time vetilation. Big bucks Gore-Tex is your only hope.

Hi jmanz 6. No these aren't waterproof. Rode them in the rain and through water and your feet will get wet. They have mesh around your feet so they do breathe some, but they don't have any mesh around your calfs/shins so these areas sweat big time.
