Shoei Qwest / RF-1100 Cheek Pads
As new replacement parts
I bought a new cheek pad set for my Shoei RF1100 as the originals were way overdue and getting kinda squishy. The replacement parts fit properly (fit is always a concern with non-factory replacements right?), snaps and tabs located as stock. One button is a little weak and pops off once in a while but has not been an issue during wear. Good replacements, work fine, no probs. +1.

Awesome service as always
I replaced the stock cheek pads in my RF1100 with the next size up. Now my helmet fits perfectly.

My wife has high check bones and these fit much better than the stock size!

Easy to install, stays put once installed. The looser fit does let more wind noise in but the comfort level is worth it. Just use ear plugs.
Would buy again for sure!

This option should be standard
My Shoei Qwest fit me a little tight since the beginning but I thought it would stretch a little and become more comfortable over time. It didn't, especially the cheek pads. The new, smaller, pads do make the helmet fit better and have relieved the pressure I felt before making it very comfortable to wear. I find it odd though, that all helmets come with the same size pads. Shoei would do well to offer the option of choosing which size pads you want initially with the purchase of the helmet and not as an added expense. It's a great solution, but I now have a useless set of "standard" size pads.

Revzilla's great. The Cheekpads OK. They make my Shoei Qwest WEARABLE. But they should have been INCLUDED with the original helmet purchase!
I went to the International Motorcycle show in Atlanta in the fall of 2012.
I went the Shoei Booth, and tried on a Large Shoei Qwest. It fit fine, but the CHEEKPADS were a bit snug.
The SHOEI rep said that one of the great features of the Shoei Qwest (and the RF-1100) was that
".... The Cheekpads are interchangeable! And they come in different thicknesses to ensure proper fit!"
He suggested that I buy the Large with the standard Cheekpads (35mm thickness), because, he said:
"Even though they feel snug now, after wearing the helmet the pads will compress and should ft fine....BUT IF THEY ARE STILL TIGHT, JUST CALL SHOEI AND THEY WILL SEND YOU SMALLER CHEEKPADS!"
Well, that sounded reasonable. My girlfriend bought me the Large size as a Christmas gift, with the standard (35mm) cheekpads.
I wore the helmet on a few rides, and the cheekpads did NOT compress. If I wore the helmet for more than 30-40 minutes, it became painful. The cheekpads pushed my cheeks into my teeth and made it difficult to speak. So, I took the salesman up on his offer. I called and wrote to Shoei, and explained in detail, that I HAD WORN THE HELMET and that on "... extended rides: the cheekpads were too tight and painful." I made it CLEAR they were slightly used.
A Shoei rep wrote back: "Yes - return the 35 mm cheekpads to us, and we will send you a 31 mm set."
I did so, but Shoei returned them to me, saying
"Nope - your chhekpads are not BRAND NEW. Therefore, if you want to get a set of 31 mm pads, you will need to pay us $41 plus $12 shipping" !!
RIPOFF!!. I complained up the chain at Shoei to no avail. Their policy is clearly to market the interchangeable cheekpads, and to include a THICK set as standard, thus forcing people who have already spent nearly $400 on a helmet to drop another $50 to get a set of cheekpads that actually fit.
I refused to buy directly from Shoei, but I needed the pads, so I bought them from Revzilla for LESS than Shoei sold them for, and for half the shipping costs.
No complaints about Revzilla. Revz' did a great job, and got me the pads in no time for a fair(-er) price.
But now: I will NEVER - not EVER -buy a Shoei product again.
Bait and switch. Scam. Thievery.
No desire to foster customer loyalty.
And I am not the only one who had this complaint. Read the blogs and comments and reviews.
The cheekpads should have been exchangeable for a period of time AFTER you bought the helmet, to allow one to ensure they actually fit under riding conditions.
