Great for getting the fit just right My new helmet was really tight and I thought it would improve with use, no, it was too tight. Fortunately Shoei sells the cheekpads separately and now my helmet is my favorite. However I would like them to be cheaper, included with the helmet on purchase or to have the option to select cheekpads when buying the helmet. November 4, 2014
Expensive but comfortable helmet that fits me better because of the smaller cheek pads I I stalled The pads were easy to install. They made the helmet fit my face better. I could not have worn it for long distances without the new smaller cheek pads. September 16, 2014
Should not incude any cheek pads so you can buy what you need. I don;t thik these are small enogh. They should also not include any cheek pads in the helmet. After spending $600 I should not have to spend $50 more to make it fit and then have an extra set of worthless cheek pads afterwords. This is NOT Revzillas fault, so don't get me wrong, I think Shoei should chane how they sell these combos. September 1, 2014
Cheekpads at 3x normal cost! The Shoei GT Air helmet is awesome, unfortunately it comes with cheek pads made for skeletons and severely anemic riders. These thinner cheek pads make the helmet fit much better, and make removing and putting the helmet on much easier, especially since now you don't need vaseline and a shoehorn to do it. I'd recommend these to anyone, anyone who is willing to spend the outrageous amount on just cheek pads that is. August 9, 2014
Does the job, but adds extra expense My advice for sizing helmets is to take the cheek pads out and find the shell that fits your noggin first, because it is probably smaller than you think. Once you have the shell size right, then order cheek pads to fit your face. It adds extra expense to an already spendy helmet, but it has made a comfortable helmet out of a jaw-crushing headache-on-wheels. In this case I went with a Large helmet (GT Air), and had to buy the 31mm check pads (the thinnest available) to get a good fit. July 28, 2014
Perfect Fit Fits perfect in my Shoei GT Air helmet. These smaller sized cheek pads gave this helmet a completely different feel, which created the perfect comfort for my big head. July 21, 2014
Made it fit I bought a XL demo and it made me fill like my head was in a vise, between these and the new center pad it fits perfectly. July 7, 2014
I am very satisfied with this helmet!!! These cheekpads are extremely comfortable, quick and easy to install or remove. Absolutely no discomfort if wearing your helmet fore extended period of time. June 30, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Patrick L: This reduced the pressure on my cheek bones. They are slightly thinnerthan the factory size. Nov 14, 2014
Justin W: I need an XL helmet, but XXL cheek pads. Otherwise I look like a chipmunk. Oct 20, 2014
Scot P: Stock cheek pads were a little too tight for my face shape, squeeded my cheeks. Switching to these narrower pads made the helmet fit perfectly. Sep 8, 2014
Glenn H: I purchased the GT Air (Large). Used the measure tool on this site. My noggin measured 59-60CM size (exactly like my older AFX). I was warned by some that have purchased Shoei in other models that the helmet will seem like your head is in a vice at first, but will settle in with time. I got the helmet yesterday and my experience was no different. I had to pull off the chin curtain to get it on. The standard 35 MM size was too much. I hope the 31 MM size will improve the break in experience. Aug 14, 2014
John T: Purchased a large GT-Air and though the helmet is the right size for my head the cheekpads are too tight and squash my face. Other user comments suggested that replacing the cheekpads with thinner ones would lead to a more comfortable fit. Aug 2, 2014
Paula R: To make my helmet fit better, duh! Jul 28, 2014
Jeffrey N: Helmet fits very tight in the cheeks. Jul 18, 2014
Caner B: "Because the current one size is change (L) and now my helmet like XL..This reason i bought these stuff." Jun 30, 2014
Jonathan L: cheek pads that came with the helmet were just too small, these did the trick and the helmet fits perfectly now May 11, 2014
john s: my new gt air helmet is a little too tight-- I am between sizes. the crown of the helmet is a good snug fit, but the cheeks are tight and this makes it pretty tough to put on and take off the helmet. May 6, 2014
Jason B: I have fat cheeks May 3, 2014
Brian R: I have extremely wide check bones. I tried a couple rides with my size medium SHOEI GT-AIR helmet and the stock 35mm cheek pads are very uncomfortable. The SHOEI rep at the international motorcycle show warned me I may need these. Should have just bought them outright. Oh well. Thank you RevZilla for being who you are and as honest as possible. Love the video reviews, keep up the good work! Mar 20, 2014
Jim M: Needed thinner pad Mar 8, 2014
Scott R: Helmet is too tight in cheeks Feb 7, 2014
Rob M: To have a spare set Oct 29, 2013
Silvio M: I tried this helmet on and considering the feedback from other users, I opted to order this item in case this product would improve my fit with this helmet, which during trial seemed to really squeeze my cheeks rather stiffly inward. Revzilla allows for a great return program so no harm in having the option. Was hesitant as the price for an accessory was way out of line considering the actual cost of the helmet. Oct 18, 2013
Vincent L: I was in between the medium and large size, the cheek pads just put a bit too much pressure on my face, these replacements worked great! Aug 26, 2013
Adolfo V: Love my new Shoei GT Air, just is a bit to snug around the cheek pads. I'm hoping this will solve my problem. Aug 25, 2013
ROD N asked: I have the Shoei GT AIR. The stock cheek pads are too tight. I'm not sure on which size to select. I read some reviews and It seems that the 31mm 2XL size is the way to go. Please help. I am having trouble understanding the size chart....31mm 2XL means a smaller cheek pad? Mar 18, 2014

Anthony L: I went with the 31mm which means a smaller cheek pad, it's the thickness if the pad that is measure. Mar 20, 2014

A s: I went down one size to 31mm and it fit was just right. Note that after one year of frequent use it starting to feel a bit lose. So at some point I might have to put back in the originals. Don't think it would be as tight in that the overall helmet is now well broken in.

Jeffrey S: Hmm. I have a gt air in Xl. I ordered smaller cheek pads - whatever is the thinnest. Works perfect now Mar 20, 2014

Daniel K asked: Looking at the various cheek pad sizes, it seems based on the OEM sizing that this helmet has 4 shell sizes and not 3 - what gives? It looks like XS-S, M, L, and XL-2XL share shell sizes. Am I wrong? I tried a helmet from a friend which is Medium. It was a tad loose. He wore it for 700 miles and I am considering buying his helmet and changing the cheek pads. Thanks for the advise! Nov 16, 2014

Jim K: I purchased a new Shoei GT-Air and found it too tight. Ordered the cheek pads for the looser fit and it worked out great for me.
