Made my helmet fit much better. I bought these pads to make my RF1200 small size helmet fit better. The helmet was tight with the standard pads, so these one size smaller cheek pads did the trick. A little expensive but I think worth it for the comfort. Very easy to install. Just follow the directions in the helmet user guide. July 22, 2015
Made my helmet fit perfect These made my helmet fit so much better. The stock cheek pads caused too much compression on my face. These are amazing June 29, 2015
Tune the Fit of Your Shoei Helmet Optional Cheek Pads and thicker helmet liner really dialed in my Shoei to perfection. I needed to use a +1 size helmet due to my nose bumping the front of the helmet. Thicker pads tightened everything up just perfectly. I've had other high end helmets, but like Shoei best. Produced the fit I needed. The 35MM cheekpads that come standard in the large size RF1200 helmet are too big for me and put pressure on the front of my face. It's great that Shoei offers a solution with smaller 31MM cheekpads. Now my helmet feels like a custom fit. Instructions were not included with the new cheekpads, but it was easy to figure out after carefully removing one of the standard ones and noting how it was attached. May 18, 2015
Typical excellent Shoei quality I bought an XL RF1200 that fit well except the cheek pads were way too tight. The 31mm pads are much better for me. May 4, 2015
Wish they gave you the options of these with the helmet When I bought the RF-1200 XL helmet, the cheek pads made the helmet way to tight on my face. These replacement pads made the helmet fit like a dream. Still keeps the helmet in place but doesnt feel like my face is in a vice. May 4, 2015
Shoei RF1200 Cheek Pads The RF 1200 fits great but the standard cheek pads that came with the XL helmet were just way to big. I picked up the smaller (thinner) cheek pads and they are great. Helmet fits perfect now. April 6, 2015
Needed to fit my big head I bought an XL helmet, which fit my head but squished my face to the point that I kept biting my cheek. I ordered these in and they've made all the difference - the helmet is now really comfortable and it hasn't changed the wind noise at all. April 3, 2015

Dale M: The cheek pads that shipped with the Shoei RF 1200 are really tight on my face so this next size smaller should provide a bit more clearance. I have a somewhat long, oval shaped head . Could be that the original cheek pads need to break in better as I've only just started using this helmet . I used it on an eight hundred mile trip right out of the box and it was pretty tight all the way. Jun 22, 2015

John R: I needed a 2xl helmet. But the helmet I was wanting nobody had in 2xl. The XL and 2xl have the same shell. So I ordered the helmet in a XL and ordered the pads to convert it to a 2xl Apr 1, 2014

Dan M asked: Just got my helmet. The medium is a perfect fit for my head. I tried this on at a local store and liked the size. However, after wearing it for a while, the cheek pads are a little tight for comfort. Also, its starting to hurt to get it on and off. My ears are getting scraped too much. Would you suggest a smaller cheek pad or will they loosen with time? Mar 31, 2014

Bob L: Hey Dan, I also just bought a new rf1200 (L) and it was a bit too tight in the cheeks. I ordered the 31mm cheek pad set from Revzilla. They did the trick. Still snug but not uncomfortable and they will loosen up a bit.
I'd suggest the thinner pads - I think that will solve the problem. Worked for me.

Matt J: Dan,

I hope I can help. Here is how I size my helmets, maybe it will help you. I wear a 7 and a 1/2 fitted hat. So naturally on the size chart I fit a large, I ordered the large and because I have a skinny face I always order XS small cheek pads and the fit is bang on. You should order a larger cheek pad and give that a try, but your liner will break in over time and by time I mean a good season of summer riding will help break it in.

Jeremy L: Absolutely! I had the same problems you're experiencing. I installed cheek pads that were 4mm smaller than stock, problems gone. Also the helmet will break in quite a bit after you wear it (the cheek pads never break in). Apr 1, 2014

Jonathan T: I'm looking at getting the 31mm pads to replace the OEM 35mm ones (it's a bit tight, like in the question above). My question though, is if the 31mm pads' neckroll is thicker or thinner than the 35mm? Apr 28, 2015

Dan M: Just an update. After a while with the helmet, it broke in nicely and I love it! Still a little tight putting on and taking off but a perfect fit when on. Best helmet I've ever owed by far. Apr 28, 2015
Stephane D: Dan I haven't riden with the Helmet yet, but as with past helmets they don't loosen up that much, change them you will feel the difference, especially if you are presently hurting :-). Apr 3, 2014

moses n: They're thinner. When I finally got them and switched them out (replacing then is very easy too) it made a worlds difference. My guns weren't pushing into my teeth anymore, it was a much more comfortable feel. Apr 29, 2015

Stephane D: Jonathan I would see that the cheek pads have little affect on the Neck Roll.
On my Large RF-1200 the pads were perfect for my cheeks and 17.5-18 neck size.
