Shark Vision-R Helmet - Solid Colors

SHARK R&D engineers have created a helmet that offers the panoramic eyeport of an open-face helmet, for one of the widest view angles currently on the market, combined with the safety of the latest generation of full-face fiber-composite shells.

The SHARK patented faceshield mechanism ensures a perfect seal which equates to better soundproofing, less draft and an improved water-tight seal. The Rapid Anti-Fog System slightly opens the shield in anti-mist position. This has been designed to operate smoothly with the use of gloves.

  • Integrated drop-down sun visor
  • Two composite-fiber shell sizes
  • Shark Easy Fit glasses system offers wearers a comfort lining which has a pre-fitted system to accommodate all types of glasses
  • New Anti-Scratch/Anti-Fog coating
  • Removable and interchangeable 3 piece liner
  • Neckroll is PVC free and features reflective material at rear
  • Included chin curtain
  • Two upper vents and 1 lower vents with optimized venturi effect
  • Double D ring strap closure
  • Sharktooth-ready
  • ECE 2205 and DOT Certified
  • Approximate Weight from: 1725 g + / – 50 g in size Large

saved my life i recently had a wreak on my motorcycle and flew head first into a 4in steel safety pole and my shark helmet saved my life if i had not been wearing it i would be dead according to the doctors February 9, 2015
Well designed, great independent safety ratings, great price I am extremely happy with this helmet. I began my search in the premium brands when I discovered exceptional independent safety ratings on this helmet at almost half the price. I purchased with the thought I could return it if I didn't like it but I'm definitely keeping this one. Resists fogging exceptionally well and I'm really happy to be rid of the pesky second inside lens I was using on my other helmets. The Vision-R is quiet and comfortable with outstanding lateral and vertical vision. Love the internal sun visor as it eliminates the need to carry a separate face shield around (and the need to stop at sunset to switch screens). Visibility is awesome during the day and the white parts glow at night. The liner is removable for cleaning. Great airflow... especially with the face shield in the defog setting. i If I were to give any criticism it would be the sun visor could be a little darker. January 19, 2015
Sunvisor is great. Very easy to use even with heavy winter gloves on. The helmet is a bit louder than I anticipated. Ear plugs are recommended when riding at higher speeds. Your peripheral vision is vastly improved over any other full face helmet on the market. Makes lane changing so much safer. I am an all weather all year round biker and I find it hard to get the visor (no pinlock) to fog up on me. Airflow through the helmet is brilliant. The sun visor is very easy to use and a great feature. it is dark enough for me. Would I buy this helmet again? Absolutely yes. December 9, 2014
Great Helmet This is a really great helmet, its very comfortable, and it really does have a great wide angle of vision. The Sun visor is really useful and is quite a good shade, not to dark or to light. July 12, 2014
Great Helmet! Awesome helmet with built in sun visor, definitely worth the money. I would recommend to anyone who wants a "cheaper" nice helmet. June 30, 2014
Great helmet, great style Just two weeks to breaking in it, the size was perfect (M), according to the chart. The color I had was bright black, the lenses are great, even with Oakley shades, fits nice and comfortable. take care of the sliding shades. June 16, 2014
Nice lid for the coin Pretty nice helmet.... The built in sunvisor is sweet because I don't need to carry sunglasses with me BUT it wants to drop down so far that it touches my nose..... I may take a file to it and trim it a bit Interior padding is plenty comfy and the vents move an adequate amount of air The "cracked" option on the shield lock works great to keep you for free or to flow " just a little more" air at low speeds All in all I'd probably buy again for the money June 11, 2014
Great helmet Good view Sunscreen is useful Most of the times it's got good air flow Sometimes the screen gets damped Noisy July 9, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Oswaldo T: Because of the protection level, and for the design, including the drop down visor. Sep 22, 2014
Stephen R: I love the brand and it had really good reviews. Can't say it was a bad choice because I love riding with this. Jul 15, 2014
Glenn M: comfort, fit, style & price May 31, 2014
angela r: Great looking, good features and was on sale. May 30, 2014
Paul M: This was an EZ choice. It has all the features you want in a helmet. Fog free shield, flow thru ventilation, removable and washable pads, tip up shield cam and the all important internal sun shield. BANG! It's mine. May 1, 2014
Brent C: I wanted a full face helmet with a sun shield. Apr 22, 2014
Jens A: I liked the wide vision, room for glasses and shark-tooth features. Unfortunately I didn't like how the helmet fit. My teeth would knock against the front. Jan 23, 2014
Mark C: read reviews and sounds like a good product, also 40% off is an excellent deal! Dec 2, 2013
Brent B asked: So I just measured the circumference of my head and it comes in EXACTLY at 23", which happens to be in between sizes. Would you suggest I go for the smaller or bigger size? Oct 20, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Christopher O: My previous helmet was a medium so I purchased this in a medium even though my head size was measured at exactly 58cm (22.8 in), which is the highest measurement of the Medium. The helmet actually feels roomier than my last one, but the neck ring is trickier to get my head through than my last helmet. You might find a medium a nice snug fit but you could have trouble getting your head through the neck ring. You may have to remove the chin curtain or minimize it entirely. If you typically wear a medium, I would order the medium. Oct 21, 2013

John T: I am right at 24" so I got the XL. I found it to be a great fit. I was however on a long ride when I hit some serious head wind. It started to push the helmet back onto my face and eventual My nose was hitting the front visor. I probably could have gotten the large and that would have worked a little better. I would say that if you like things snug then go to the smaller size. Oct 21, 2013

Andrew S: I was in a similar situation and went with the size smaller. I've ordered large helmets in the past and don't like how they feel loose. So far I haven't had any issues with the size, but if you plan on riding for more than a couple of hours at a time you may want to consider the large for comfort on those long rides. Oct 21, 2013

Steven G: Definitely smaller if you prefer a snug helmet. I had to add foam helmet pads around the forehead to tighten it up. Oct 21, 2013
Reply to Steven Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Markus B: Probably the smaller size. The liner does pack out a little, so over time the helmet will loosen up a bit. Oct 21, 2013

A shopper asked: Has anyone who bought the vision r had any problems with the visor not sealing leaving a large gap at the bottom, as if the auto seal doesnt work? Apart from that i really like this helmet. Oct 15, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Greg R: I haven't had this problem, but how significant is the gap because it could be an defect with the anti fog clip. There is a clip on the side near the drop down tinted visor that is meant to lock the visor in a slightly open position, letting in just enough wind to unfog the visor and get a bit of air flow in there. May want to check that that clip isn't holding the visor open or stopping it closing. Oct 22, 2013

Mark H: I haven't had a problem with the visor sealing. The visor and mechanism are some of the best features on my helmet. The helmet seals very well around the visor and under the chin, making it a very good winter helmet. The only long-tem disappointment I've had is if you chip the paint it shows white very noticeably. Oct 15, 2013

Allan B: I bought this on March 14, 2013 and had the problem with the visor. It doesn't bother me because I use it only within city (Rio de Janeiro/Brazil), but I believe on the road it would disturb a little bit. Oct 15, 2013
Reply to Allan Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Mark W: I have not. I did have this issue with another brand which is why I went back to Shark. Oct 17, 2013

Allan C: I have had mine for over a year and experienced no problems. Oct 15, 2013

A shopper asked: Is a Pin Lock system available for this helmet? Sep 5, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Peter B: The Shark Vision R doesn't have the pin things already on the face shield like my nolan helmet had, but I'm not sure if that means it is not available. I can tell you that it is much more fog free than the nolan that I had without the pinlock In place. I have ridden through winter in Michigan without additional anti fog measures with the shark with no troubles. It has been a very good helmet for me. Sep 9, 2013
Reply to Peter Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Dustin J: I don't believe there is. I don't have one on mine, however I have almost had the helmet for a year and I ride to work everyday of the week and I have not had it fog up on me once. It has been a great helmet, and you really can see around you more than any other full faced helmet I've ever worn. Good luck. Sep 9, 2013

Mark H: I am not aware of a pin lock visor for this helmet. The anti-fog face shield position is designed to eliminate the need for a pin lock system. I have not had problems with fogging. Sep 8, 2013

laurent J: No, however it is available on the shark vision-R GT Carbon Sep 7, 2013

A S asked: DOes the Vision R have available different colors and darkness sun drop down visors? Jul 22, 2014

Peter B: I have applied "the google" to this question and found a site in Germany that purports to sell such a thing in 4 different varieties. Here's a link...
Jul 23, 2014

Peter B: Not that I am aware of. The one that comes with is not dark enough imho. I still use it with just my normal glasses under. i.e. I don't wear sunglasses when I ride. Very convenient, wish it blocked more light. The convenience outweighs the inadequacy for me. Love the helmet overall. Jul 23, 2014

A shopper asked: Aggressive, 3/4 or upright? I wish all reviews had this. Sep 7, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
yearound: I've ridden crotch rocket and cruiser with this helmet. No t much difference. But, if you helmet runs big on you, it does have a tendancy to "pull" at highway speeds. May 4, 2013
Reply to yearound Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The Shark Vision-R is more adapted to an upright, or a 3/4 position. The Shark Speed-R and Race-R will be better for an aggressive riding position. Sep 7, 2012

Jonathan F: 3/4, but it's still stable and moves air upright. I ride a Honda Shadow and this was one of my favorite helmets. Sep 24, 2012

A shopper asked: I know this helmet hasn't started shipping yet, but does anyone know the fit of this helmet? Will it fit an intermediate oval shaped head? Thanks! Jun 2, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
JustinMendez: When I am riding the from of the helmet is very close to my mouth, I can easily pucker my lips and touch the inside of the helmet. It threw me off at first but now it actually makes me feel a little more secure. I would say it's a pretty round shape. Jun 4, 2012

Joseph Z: Is that to say that the fit of the Vision-R is a long oval, similar to an Arai signet? Or that a long oval shape is offered as an option?

Eric M asked: Does any one know if the drop down sun visor has a removable protective film on it? Dec 16, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Greg R: No not as far as I know, I have bought several of this type of helmet. It comes tucked up inside the helmet so presumably they figure it has enough scratch protection to get to the customer. In general the visors are fairly resistant. I quite regularly ride around with the visor down and helmet open and have no notable blemishes on the sun visor. Dec 16, 2014
Reply to Greg Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
Alonzo S: No, the drop down sun visor does not have a removeable protective film. Its just a tinted plastic visor. Dec 16, 2014

A shopper asked: Hi, In the video review Anthony says this helmet is for intermediate oval heads, but I see the answer here says long oval. I'm a long oval and I have this helmet in my revzilla cart, but need to clear up whether this will fit long oval or not. Dec 31, 2012

A shopper asked: Looking at quite an array of helmets. What are the safer ratings on the helmets, SNELL or ECE22.05? I am looking at the Shark vision-R and ICON Alliance dark. Are they both one piece construction?
Thank you Jason
