Shark Evoline 3 ST Helmet - Solids

The Shark Evoline 3 ST is a modular helmet that truly and safely transforms from a full face to an open face helmet in one easy upward motion. We have all seen people with modular helmets cruising around with the chin bar in the upright position. It is a natural desire to want more airflow on a hot summer day. Virtually every other modular helmet on the market is not engineered to absorb an impact with the chin bar in the open position however the Evoline 3 ST accomplishes just that. Evoline 3 ST owners can enjoy the comforts of an open face helmet around town then drop the chin bar for added protection before entering a highway. In addition to the inherent versatility, the Evoline 3 ST is packed with creature comforts like a CoolMax liner and a drop down internal sun shield.

Great for long distance riding, inner city commuting and anything in between, the Shark Evoline 3 ST offers riders an unrivaled level of comfort, protection and freedom.

Improvements to the Series 3 include:

  • Easier manipulation of the chinbar thanks to the Auto-Up system. The unique motion of the Evoline remains unchanged and has become even more natural with the Series 3
  • The Auto-Up system has been simplified - chinbar and main shield are now united in a single movement.
  • Fabrics, finish and style. The interior of the Evoline Series 3 has been totally redesigned and is softer, better and more comfortable.
  • Brand new ventilation design fore and aft.
  • Overall lower weight has been decreased by approximately 200 grams.

Features:

  • Lexan Polycarbonate shell
  • Shark Easy Fit system for comfortable use with glasses
  • Sharktooth ready
  • Integrated drop down sun shield
  • Removable and washable CoolMax liner
  • DOT approved

Great helmet- Poor fitting This is no way a glasses friendly helmet and it pushes on my cheeks so hard it gave me a headache. These run small not large. I wear a large to XL with most helmets but an XL was way too small for me. Love the concept and after watching the video I had high hopes this was better than my last Shark. It was better in the forehead but that's it. Sold it to a buddy for $300.00 instead of going through the return hassle. I'm back on the hunt for one that works for me. May 24, 2016
Great Helmet Just got it last night. I rode about 50 miles on freeway and backroads. The modularity and ease of transition are excellent. I love the sun visor! My buddy had an accident in this helmet and it was much more protective than his partner in a BMW helmet. You can ride, be safe and change from full face to half helmet with ease. May 25, 2016
Unique and Good Product As modular helmets go this helmet has some cool features. The chinbar slides to the rear of the helmet allowing for a 3/4 helmet configuration. There is a sun visor that is easily accessed via a slider atop the helmet. My relatively oval head fit without a problem. The rubber molding where the chinbar latches to the helmet came loose and I had to reglue it. The helmet is heavy añd you will feel it after a day on the road. Would I buy another? I would examine other helmets in this price point before choosing this helmet but would not rule it out. May 17, 2016
great features bought this helmet for its versatile features, a little beg for the reviews had mention this. it makes for a better fit. Like the padding around the neck. the chine guard being able to move it to the back is nice, the lock latches for release are visible, when you open the chin guard, would be nice to have them where they had a type of cover on them so there wouldn't be a chance of scratching the clear lens. Make sure the clear lens is all the way up before raising the chin guard or you could scratch the lens. As for noise, its pretty much the same as other modular helmets. May 11, 2016
Excellent Helmet Great helmet. The chin bar sitting on the back of the helmet is exceptional. It's louder than my full face I wore before, but that was expected. The air flow is great, even with the chin bar down and the visor closed. I'm glad I read other reviews. According to the video, the helmet fits big, but in the reviews many said it fit small. As i sit ride in the cusp of L/XL, I went XL based on reviews. If I followed the video advice I should have bought large, glad I didn't. The XL is a great fit. I have the UCLEAR HBC200. It fits on the side great. and the ear pieces fit inside the helmet nicely. I have had to move them a couple times to get the built in mics on the speakers to pick up my voice better, but that's minor. May 4, 2016
Nice, Great bang for the buck. In the world of high price helmets it is nice to find one that fits great has tons of features and you can afford it. the flip up chin bar locks in place in the rear. The helmet has cutouts for your Bluetooth system ( I went with a sena 10R ). It's not to heavy but feels sturdy. I really like this one. this is my second Shark. May 2, 2016
Sometimes its just about the features I was a bit surprised by how cheaply made this helmet felt when I took it out of the box. Its a big step down from some of the more premier brand helmets. I was also a little surprised by the fit. My head circumference measures at just a touch under 23 inches which puts me right in-between sizes. I opted with a medium due to many of the reviews stating that these helmets actually tend to run a bit roomier than other brands. I found the helmet to be pretty true to size, if not a bit tight as a medium. I expect that the padding will eventually break in a bit and the helmet with work just fine. Its definitely not roomy though. I bought the helmet for one reason and one reason only. I really wanted to try the shark-style modular which can be used as an open-face helmet. Most modulars either flip up and are essentially unusable as open face helmets while driving. Others can be used as open-face but the under visor portion of the helmet has to be detached and stowed away somewhere. The shark system may be a gimmick, but its a good gimmick. I'm really pleased with the modular function. I've also purchased a set of shark in helmet speakers. The helmet has cut-outs for the shark tooth bluetooth system already designed into the padding which made install a piece of cake. For the price I would have liked to see some upgraded features such as a soft locking system for the drop-down sun visor which just sort of free-floats. I would have also liked to have seen something a little more thoughtful for a helmet latch. Its a standard double ring latch which I don't mind, but at very least there ought to be a snap to keep the strap from flapping around. A good quick connect system would be optimal. The rubber treatment oil that Shark sends with the helmet just makes me shake my head. Seriously, just use a higher grade of rubber and move the price up accordingly. I'd pay another ten dollars to not have cheap rubber components. Overall, I'm happy with the helmet. I think I'll get a solid year or two out of it before its cheap materials make it in need of replacing. I would recommend this product but keep a look out for sales and closeouts. If you buy it, buy it knowing that its not a helmet that you're going to wear for 5-10 years. It'll need to be replaced sooner than later. April 29, 2016
Whew, hard on the neck I was drooling over this helmet ever since I saw it on the site. I loved the concept of being able to flip the chin bar all the way out of the way and be able to ride with an open helmet. After reading all of the reviews and doing a fair amount of research I decided to order it and give it a try - none of my local shops had one for me to try on which left me with needing to order it. I chatted on the phone with a sales associate who instructed me in ordering the proper fit and when I took it out of the box and put it on: it fit like a glove. Revzilla's customer service is top notch!! They also had instructed me to wear it while watching a TV show to really see if there are any hot spots or pressure points that develop. In doing so I started to notice some soreness in my neck after about 5 minutes. 10 minutes in that soreness started to creep into the tops of my shoulders. 15 to 20 minutes in I really started to feel the neck fatigue and just had to take it off. This helmet is HEAVY and has a very large shell. I currently ride with a cheapo Bilt modular helmet - which is why I was in the market for a new and higher quality helmet - which is surprisingly less bulky and lighter. I guess I'll be sticking with the cheapo helmet until something sleeker and lighter comes out. For those of you who are accustomed to wearing something on the heavy side: this is a great option if you're looking for a modular that can accept a comms unit. If you're used to something on the lighter side you may need to develop your neck muscles a little more before donning this modular. April 25, 2016
